Review
So I'm late to the
party yet again with this stellar release from IAH. IAH are an
instrumental psych stoner rock band from Argentina who create heavy
spaced out sounds. Parts Karma To Burn, Colour Haze and all the other
legendary instrumental rock bands. Though IAH bring their own sounds
to the table with 4 heavy tracks that drift between blissful
post-rock to heavier stoner metal riffs with an underlying amount of
FUZZ waiting to be heard.
The 27 minute EP flows
naturally with this power trio even manage to include some doom based
sounds on the excellent opening track – Cabalgan los cielos. The
heavy guitars are the main focal point of IAH's sound though it's
backed up by a great rhythm section as well. The song turns into
something more progressive towards the end and it shows that IAH
aren't afraid to break the rules of Instrumental Rock to suit their
own creative needs.
The rest of songs on
the EP follow the same path as the opening track as IAH treats the
audience to a psychedelic spaced out journey that allows them to standout from the
Instrumental Stoner Rock crowd.
Third track Stalas is another highlight as IAH with the band playing a calmer and slower style of psychedelic music. Though IAH have around 8 minutes to kill and they use this time wisely in playing heavy progressive riffs that flows naturally. When the heavier moments do appear, IAH still manage to remain calm when everything around them is anything but.

Overall, IAH's debut EP
is a roaring success and it shows that the South American Stoner Rock
Scene can give the big boys a run for their money especially where
the music is passionate and dynamic as this. Awesome stuff....
