I'm just going to come right out and say it. Domkraft is, in my humble opinion, the best damn band on the planet right now. I was excited when I saw the band was coming out with their third full length, so I jumped at the chance to review. Hot damn, I was not disappointed. More specifically, the new album Seeds is the bands best yet. It is an album of the year contender, and frankly, it is the album of the year so far.

Any unfamiliar with Domkraft, their sound is lead blanket heavy, hypnotic, and intense. The trio weaves massive riffs, smothering bass, and monstrous drumming with intense, expressive vocals. Their sound thrilling and mesmerizing, yet in an odd way calming. Like looking at the eye of a storm.

The title track opens the album. Seeds is a nine minute opus and the bands best song of their entire impressive catalogue. Intense, rocking, and mesmerizing. Another nine minute titan follows.

The Perpetuator continues the aural onslaught with the trademark massiveness the band brings. The intense Into Orbit is next. Psych heavy and full of emotion filled vocals drive the intensity off the charts with this one. The pummelling riffs continue with the fuzz wash and somewhat tribal feel of Dawn of Man. The song goes on a momentarily more fellow feel only to have the intensity revved up to max again throughout this ripper.

Tremors kicks in next with feedback and an ominous groove. The track lures you in with a mellow, while still heavy as hell, vibe. Before erupting in a flanged, phased, and fuzzed climax.

Krank Blekhet is a brief echoey and dissonant lead in to the albums closer. The intense and driving Audiodome. Another nine minute titan full of power and intensity. Strained vocals lead the tightly wound song careening deep into the listeners psyche and soul.

Domkraft is on the short list of my favourite bands out there today. Honestly, they very well may be the best band on the planet. Seeds is easily their Magnum opus. Do yourself the ultimate favour. Buy the record. Crank it up and lose yourself in the dense atmospheric pressure and thunderstorm sound of Domkraft. You will not be disappointed.
