Review

Green Man is the new single from UK Stoner Metallers – Orbital Junction – and is from their upcoming debut album which will be released later this year. This is my first venture into Orbital Junction’s world and I’m mightily impressed by what they have to offer. This is a band who play Psychedelic Stoner Metal with elements of Desert Rock and Doom Metal being thrown in.

Green Man starts really slow but allows Orbital Junction to have a confident swagger and real presence. The music is slow, dense and quite heavy though you don’t realise how emotional the song actually is. That’s primarily down to the excellent vocals of Owen and the deep meaningful lyrics the band have written for this song. Almost folk based but still full of great Stoner based vibes.

The song instantly becomes a different song when the heavy grungy and doom guitars kick into overdrive. The song is still played at a slow pace but the listener is given more time to soak in those heavy sounding riffs.

Overall, this is a superb offering and has me excited to hear their debut album when it’s released later this year. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on Orbital Junction and I recommend you all do too…

Excellent and Highly Recommended.
