Portuguese Atmospheric Sludge/Post-metal trio Palegazer reveal full details of "White Mourning"

Portuguese atmospheric sludge/post-metal trio Palegazer have revealed the full details of "White Mourning," their debut album for Octopus Rising, set for release on October 30, 2026 on CD and digital formats.

Following the recent release of "Imminence", the band now unveils the complete five-track album, an intense exploration of human fragility, loss, vulnerability and the process of letting go.

"White Mourning" reflects on the narratives we create to understand our experiences and the way our perceptions shape the realities around us. The album's title embodies this duality, suggesting both mourning and liberation, with loss becoming a path towards rebirth and self-discovery.

Musically, Palegazer moves between immersive melancholy and crushing heaviness, combining atmospheric post-metal with the weight of sludge and doom. Drawing inspiration from YOB, Russian Circles, REZN, Deafheaven, Conan, Bölzer, Mastodon, Ahab and Bell Witch, the trio create a sound built on contrasts, moving from fragile melodic passages to towering riffs and intense vocal dynamics.

"White Mourning" was recorded at the band's own studio and mixed and mastered by Diogo Santana of Noise Portrait Recordings.

Heavy Psych/Stoner Rockers Paranoid Reverb reveal new album Red River Black Roots and release second single "0315"

Following the announcement of their signing with Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records and the release of their first new single "Red River", Greek heavy psych / stoner rock outfit Paranoid Reverb now unveil the full details of their second full-length album, Red River Black Roots.

The album will be released on September 18, 2026 via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records on CD and digital. Alongside the album announcement, the band also release their second single, "0315", available now on all major streaming platforms: https://li.sten.to/paranoidreverb_0315

Following their 2020 debut Billion Drops, Red River Black Roots marks a more deliberate and mature phase for Paranoid Reverb. The album expands their heavy psych / stoner rock foundations through denser rhythmic structures, darker tonal shades and atmospheric layers, while retaining the raw, performance-driven energy of their live sound.

Recorded in April 2025 at Shellac Recording Studios in Thessaloniki and completed the following month at producer Paris Parasidis' studio, the album places dynamics and authenticity at its core. Organic percussion, metallic objects and ambient textures become part of a sound that moves between heavy eruptions and hypnotic passages, creating a distinctly live-oriented feel without sacrificing weight or atmosphere.

Thematically, Red River Black Roots explores pressure, introspection, renewal and the tension between decay and transformation. Its title reflects this journey: the "river" represents a descent into chaos, while the "roots" suggest a return to origin. Together, they form the central metaphor connecting the album's narrative and sonic progression.

With new vocalist Manos Gotsis and a renewed creative direction, Paranoid Reverb enter this new chapter with their most focused and personal work to date.

German Riff Driven Sludge Metallers Red Stone Chapel Reveal New Single “Evil Seed” Through Renewed Argonauta Alliance

German heavy riff force RED STONE CHAPEL are proud to renew their collaboration with Argonauta Records and unveil their brand new single “Evil Seed”, available now on all digital streaming platforms: https://tidal.com/album/531069855/u

Originally formed in Marburg, Hesse, Germany in 2009, RED STONE CHAPEL have spent years refining their unmistakable blend of Stoner Rock, Southern groove, Sludge and Doom infused heaviness. Following lineup changes and a renewed creative vision solidified in late 2023, the band now emerge darker, heavier and more intense than ever before.

“Evil Seed” perfectly captures this new direction: a crushing and riff driven track built on massive guitar tones, dark atmospheres and emotionally charged vocals. Rooted in the sludgy spirit of the NOLA scene while embracing a broader Heavy Metal identity, the single delivers a relentless sonic impact that showcases the band’s evolution and uncompromising approach.

With influences ranging from Black Sabbath and Crowbar to Cathedral, Pentagram, Down and Danzig, RED STONE CHAPEL continue to push their sound into deeper and more powerful territories, balancing aggression, melancholy and raw energy in equal measure.

The band comments:

“RED STONE CHAPEL are happy to build on their previous partnership with ARGONAUTA RECORDS and that listeners will find sorrow and joy in our new sonic onslaught. In hope that YOU, the listener, are able to tame your own demons, we want to provide the soundtrack for your journey.”

Swiss Spheric Rock Trio BIRDLORD Release New Single “En Donde Me Perdí”

Swiss spheric rock trio BIRDLORD continue the ascent toward their highly anticipated debut album with the release of the new single “En Donde Me Perdí”, available now via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records.

Stream the track here: https://tidal.com/track/526315361/u

Taken from the upcoming full-length album Dreams Lie In The Eagle’s Eye, set for release on September 25th, 2026, “En Donde Me Perdí” shows one of the heaviest and most direct sides of the band so far. Built around thick fuzz guitars, driving bass lines and an infectious groove, the track combines psychedelic rock with raw alternative energy and a strong sense of movement.

Rather than turning inward, the song reflects on frustration with a cruel society and the feeling of losing yourself inside systems, numbness and the constant struggle between ethics and profit. Sung in Spanish, "En Donde Me Perdí" balances catchy hooks with dense walls of sound, shifting between hypnotic passages and explosive instrumental moments.

Since forming in Bern in late 2023, BIRDLORD have rapidly evolved from an ambitious underground project into one of the most compelling new names in the European psychedelic and progressive rock scene. The current lineup featuring Lily Lord, Gaia Giacomelli and Köbi Ferber has refined the band’s sound into something sharper, heavier and emotionally layered, balancing explosive energy with atmospheric depth.

With “En Donde Me Perdí”, BIRDLORD offer another immersive preview of an album destined to push their artistic vision even further. More details about Dreams Lie In The Eagle’s Eye will be revealed soon.

SNAIL ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE “RED TENT” — FIRST IN A ROLLING SERIES OF DIGITAL-ONLY DROPS AHEAD OF A VINYL COLLECTION VIA ARGONAUTA RECORDS

Seattle heavy-psych/stoner lifers Snail burrowed underground after 2021’s Fractal Altar and came back swinging with 2024’s live document Thou Art There: Live at The Obelisk All-Dayer. Now the trio re-emerges with “Red Tent,” a cold-sweat ripper inspired by John Carpenter’s The Thing, and the opening salvo in a 60s-style singles campaign that culminates in a full vinyl release on Argonauta Records.

“Red Tent” finds Snail leaning hard into the classic metal chassis they rode on 2012’s Terminus: knife-edge riffs, ominous harmonies, and that doom-drunk groove only this band can make swing. Fans who’ve ridden with Snail since their early ’90s origins through Snail (’93), All Channels Are Open (’94), the reunion era of Blood, Terminus, Feral, and Fractal Altar will hear the band’s signature fuzz get meaner, tighter, and freakier.

“Red Tent” is the first of a batch of new studio cuts the band has been quietly tracking since Fractal Altar. Each song will drop digitally as a stand-alone single, bringing maximal riffs with minimal waiting. Then the collected work will be pressed to wax by Argonauta, who also released Fractal Altar and Snail’s 2024 live set. Translation: we’re back to the jukebox era of one killer A-side after another until the platter lands.

Band Quote (Mark Johnson, vocals/guitar)

“We basically disappeared into the ice for a minute while writing, recording, and losing our minds on tones. ‘Red Tent’ is the flare going up. It’s paranoia, it’s body-horror, it’s fuzz that wants to tear through the canvas and eat you. We’re dropping these tracks the way the 60s did it: single, single, single, followed by the tactile vinyl ritual. If Fractal Altar was the ceremony, this is the possession. See you under the black light.”

About Snail

Formed in 1992 and reactivated in 2008, Snail has carved a cult path through psych, doom, and heavy melody. Their most recent releases include the studio album Fractal Altar (Argonauta, 2021) and the digital-only live album Thou Art There: Live at The Obelisk All-Dayer (Argonauta, 2024).

Lineup

Mark Johnson: vox/guitar
Matt Lynch: bass, keys
Marty Dodson: drums

For Fans of

Heavy-tripping doom, desert-fried psychedelia, and classic-metal menace—think the spacefaring heft of Fractal Altar with the blade-edge thrust of Terminus.
