Review

THE SKY IS are from Poland and that country is bringing some top notch talent to the Doom/Sludge/Stoner Metal scene. THE SKY IS play an atmospheric doomish take on Stoner Metal. Their new album – TÉLÉPATHIE – is a gloomy instrumental affair with most of the songs having the same style of post-metal delivery as each other.

It's blissfully heavy at times with moments of ambient post-rock to calm down the raging atmosphere the band create on tracks such as Entangled, Kudzu and Depths. Will people like this band. It all depends if you're ready for another instrumental post-rock/post-metal band to entertain for you for the next 25 mins or so.

THE SKY IS standout from the crowd as they inject superb Stoner Metal grooves into the mix. The production is solid as it allows THE SKY IS to create moments of early-Pelican era sounds. THE SKY IS manage to create some exciting ideas of their own especially on Entangled and Kudzu. Their music has an air of intelligence around it. The band are very good musicians indeed with plenty of fantastic riffs that will hold your attention from the very start.

It's a shame the album is on for a short space of time. THE SKY IS could have easily included a couple more tracks to get pass the 30 minute mark. Perhaps on their next album. TÉLÉPATHIE is a very good album indeed. It has something for everyone if you're a fan of all things Post-Rock and Post-Metal but with added Stoner Metal grit and attitude.

Excellent and Highly Recommended.
