Hidden Since The Foundation Of The World is a Psych Doom Metal band from The Netherlands who focus upon playing a cautionary style of Doom Metal with areas of Prog Rock, Sludge, Grunge and Shoegaze dynamics showing within their music. The band have recently released two tracks Bad Winter and Man Of Stated Age which were released originally as Live Tracks back in August 2025. This time the band offer proper recorded versions and they have a different feel, sound and overall vibe to their live counterparts.
The songs are very stripped back that taps right into the Nineties Shoegaze and Alt Metal scenes perfectly with a haunting Post-Metal quality appearing on the heaviest moments especially on Bad WInter. The song moves cautiously slowly before finding a firm HEAVY FOOTING with a distorted atmospheric sludge vibe appearing. The vocals from Blev Lavoux dominate the Post-Rock/Droned Out landscape with the instrumental work finally creating an ice cold world that holds everything together.
Man Of Stated Age showcases Hidden Since The Foundation Of The World's great use of mechanical loops, sound effects and industrial beats which is another major strength for the band to wholly rely upon. If you dig the likes of WINDHAND, NEUROSIS, SWANS and KOWLOON WALLED CITY then there’s much to discover and admire from these two tracks alone.
Both tracks are emotionally engaging and quite bleak with the band providing bleak soundscapes within their overall musical journey. Hidden Since The Foundation Of The World have a wealth of different releases up on their BandCamp Page and with some of them leaning into Experimental Rock/Metal territory, the band could be really onto something special for future releases.
Excellent and Highly Recommended.
