Stoner Metallers GODZILLA IN THE KITCHEN Announce Upcoming New Album And European Tour Details

Stoner Rockers GODZILLA IN THE KITCHEN have announced their upcoming new album.

The new record is titled *TERMINATION SEQUENCE* and is set for releaseon October 23, 2026. Compared to the band's first two instrumental albums (released via Argonauta Records), there are three major changes: it is the band's first release on TONZONEN RECORDS, the first album

featuring new drummer Thiago Presto, and—most notably—the band's first album to include vocals.

The release tour is scheduled for October and November 2026, featuring support from the stoner metal steamroller MUDFINGER, hailing from the German Westerwald region.

Review

Psych/Doom/Stoner Rockers Godzilla In The Kitchen return with their latest single Empty Cribs and this track feels like a great homage to the mighty TOOL. The progressive rhythms, sounds, warped melodies and vocals are TOOL through and through. The song is excellent throughout with Godzilla In The Kitchen still adding their own great sound into the mix with swirling Psychedelic Stoner Metal grooves aligning perfectly to the dark complex themes that TOOL are known for.

The vocals follow the template that Maynard James Keenan uses quite closely but Simon Ulm still delivers his own great style. The song is quite catchy and eerie demonic in the heaviest parts but still offers some uplifting Psychedelic passages before the sudden onslaught of brooding Prog Metal energy which ultimately powers the track to its natural conclusion.

I would love to say the song is quite original but it follows TOOL too closely but I applaud Godzilla In The Kitchen for doing something vastly different that they’re mainly known for.  This is still a fantastic track with lots of great things going for it and will no doubt go down a storm with the band’s fan base and even the wider underground Stoner Rock scene in general.

GODZILLA IN THE KITCHEN - New Single NOTHING FOR NONE out on Tonzonen Records May 8th 2026.

We are living in a time of profound societal upheaval. For GODZILLA IN THE KITCHEN, this is a reason to speak up and channel their anger into music. With NOTHING FOR NONE, the band releases their first new song since the album Exodus (2022).
 
What once started as an instrumental rock band has evolved into a powerful alternative metal formation – now driven by socially critical lyrics. Simon Ulm, the band’s bassist, takes over lead vocals and adds a new compositional depth to the music. Despite this evolution, the musical roots of GODZILLA IN THE KITCHEN remain clearly audible: elements of stoner, progressive, and psychedelic flow naturally into a distinctive, deliberately analog sound.

Nothing For None is accompanied by a music video that visually captures the song’s central theme: the seduction of the masses. Driven by aggressive vocals, guitar hooks, monster riffs, and pounding drums. Be warned: this track hits hard and builds toward a climax guaranteed to send chills down your spine.

The Lowdown

German Heavy Psychedelic Prog trio GODZILLA IN THE KITCHEN are about to drop their first new material since the last album EXODUS (2022, Argonauta Records), and after a move to Tonzonen Records, they're looking to make this one count: While they will be announcing the release of their new album later this year, for now the focus lies on getting the singles ahead of the album heard by as many old and new fans as possible.

A new label as well as a new drummer aren't the only significant changes for the band since the last record: So far, they exclusively made instrumental music, but with their new material, they're adding vocals for the very first time, and I think this change suits them really well.

The first new single, NOTHING FOR NONE, will be announced on April 24th, and released on May 8th.

GODZILLA IN THE KITCHEN are returning to the Holy Ground. Now it's official! The 3 psych rockers will return to Wacken Open Air for the 3rd time in a row in 2024. Together with the wild horde of the Wasteland Warriors, they will heat up the Wasteland.

Leipzig heavy psychedelic rock band GODZILLA IN THE KITCHEN will be back gain at Wacken Open Air in 2024 after their appearances in 2022 & 2023. After their Future of Mankind tour for their 2nd album EXODUS (released under Argonauta Records) they come back strengthened and with their new Drummer Thiago Presto to the land where rock and metal flow. Supported by the fire shows and the ambience of the Wasteland, an audiovisual spectacle is offered for the fans and those who want to become one.

Review

Instrumental Stoner Rockers Godzilla In The Kitchen return with their new album EXODUS that expands their winning Psych Stoner Rock sounds. The album is quite funky and jazzy in places but still one of Instrumental Desert/Stoner Rock quality which shows the band taking a different path compared to their earlier releases. The music moves at a thrilling pace with the band becoming more DOOM based on the earlier stages of the album throughout songs such as Is, The Future Of Mankind, Forced By and The King Of Monsters.

The music drifts from Chilled Out Post-Rock/Desert Rock to a heavier and progressive sounding Psych Stoner Rock drive that the band use to great effect. The instrumental work is fast-paced and equally addictive with the DIY sounding vibes of the album allowing Godzilla In The Kitchen playing strands of low-key Prog Rock compared to other bands within the Instrumental Stoner Rock scene.

Perhaps too jazzy and experimental for some, there's still a wide array of different STONER sounds with the excellent instrumental work that is equally powerful especially within the rhythm section of the band that impressed me the most. 

EXODUS works best when the band focuses upon the heavier grooves compared to the lighter parts of the album. However, there's still a lot of magic to be discovered here with Godzilla In The Kitchen playing to the more low-key WEEDIAN sounds and flavours they've created and played on the album.

The second half of the album is equally as strong as the first half with tracks such as Because, Everything That Has Been Given and Will Be Taken Away offering a more climactic sound and progressive feel. The extended Psych Stoner Rock jams have a more direct sound that reminds me of early era Karma To Burn but with a more twisted flavour.

Overall, EXODUS is a deeper and forward thinking album compared to Godzilla In The Kitchen's earlier works and shows a band taking more creative and meaningful risks with their music. If you're looking for a more daring Desert/Stoner Rock sound with menacing purpose to it all then this is the album for you.

Excellent and Highly Recommended.
