ROBOT GOD RETURN WITH NEW SINGLE "CURSE OF THE DRIVEN" Out July 17. Announce New album on the horizon, with East Coast and Japan tour dates announced!!!

Sydney psychedelic heavy rock trio Robot God return with their powerful new single "Curse of the Driven", available on all major streaming platforms from July 17.

Serving as the title track from the band's forthcoming album of the same name, Curse of the Driven is the next chapter following the acclaimed release of Onto the Afterlife. The new single pushes Robot God's signature blend of crushing stoner grooves, expansive psychedelic textures and hypnotic riffs into even darker territory, exploring the restless pursuit that drives us forward even when the road ahead is uncertain.

Accompanying the release is an official studio performance video, filmed during the band's recording sessions at The Grove Studios in September 2025. Rather than a traditional music video, the footage captures Robot God in their natural habitat, documenting the energy, chemistry and raw power behind the creation of the track.

To celebrate the release, Robot God will take the new single on the road for a quick run of east coast shows, followed by a tour in Japan before heading home for a bunch of shows in Sydney/Wollongong and Melbourne.

Stoner Metallers STEAK Unleash Music Video For Crushing New Single “Cometh”

STEAK - Unleash Music Video For Crushing New Single “Cometh”. The band are set to appear at Desertfest London & Berlin and Ffllowed by Tour Dates supporting ALL THEM WITCHES!

London-based heavy fuzz rock outfit STEAK have released their sludge-soaked new single “Cometh”, the first track to be revealed from their upcoming studio album, set for release in Autumn 2026 via Stickman Records.

“Cometh” arrives as a dense, doom-laden statement of intent; a slow-burning, crushing wall of fuzz that leans deep into the band’s signature blend of groove-heavy desert rock and monolithic riff worship. The track is accompanied by a striking dark animated video that visually amplifies the song’s ominous and immersive atmosphere. As the first glimpse into the forthcoming album, “Cometh” sets the tone for what promises to be STEAK’s heaviest and most expansive work to date.

STEAK will bring their high-voltage live presence to stages across Europe this year, including appearances at Desertfest Berlin and Desertfest London. Following these festival shows, the band will join All Them Witches as special guests on selected tour dates, further cementing their reputation as a must-see act within the heavy underground scene.

Watch the video for “Cometh” here:

Hailing from London, STEAK have established themselves as a key force within the global desert rock and stoner scene. Known for their relentless riffs, hypnotic grooves, and high-energy live performances, the band has built a strong following across Europe and beyond.

Blending elements of classic heavy rock with modern fuzz-drenched intensity, STEAK continue to push their sound into darker and heavier territories while staying rooted in the spirit of the desert rock movement. Self-described as a “shit kickin’ band”, their ethos reflects the raw, no-frills energy that defines both their recordings and their explosive live shows.

Psych Stoner Metallers HOWLING GIANT reveal new video single 'Hunter's Mark' from forthcoming album "Crucible & Ruin"

HOWLING GIANT present the video clip 'Hunter's Mark' as the final advance single taken from the cosmic stoner metal outfit's forthcoming album "Crucible & Ruin". The third full-length by the Nashville, Tennessee band has been chalked up for release on October 31, 2025, via Magnetic Eye Records and is available for pre-order here:

https://spkr.store/collections/howling-giant

Furthermore, HOWLING GIANT will be joining ANCIIENTS as special guests live in Canada & the US in November 2025. Please find the currently confirmed live dates below.

Watch the video for 'Hunter's Mark' here:

HOWLING GIANT comment: "While our previous member James was in the band, we wrote 'Hunter's Mark' as one of the first songs with him", drummer and vocalist Zach Wheeler reveals. "We were working in our friend Drew Harakal's studio in Texas and Tom and James came up with that harmonized verse riff. We instantly knew that we had a slamming track on our hands. I tend to play around with my drum setup when writing, so I set up a second ride cymbal on my left hand side for a little extra flavor in the verses. We loved working with Willy from Polar Desert Studios on the 'Aluminum Crown' video a while back. So we brought him back to create a static animation 2D/3D model blended video to accompany this track. Enjoy!"

10. Beholder II: Labyrinth

HOWLING GIANT take another huge step on their third full-length "Crucible & Ruin", a collection of sparking ideas, captivating melodies, and heavy riffing close to perfection - quite a feat of on-point songwriting for such a still young band!

This is the band's first album to feature new fourth member Adrian Lee Zambrano. Although the guitarist and synth player arrived somewhat toward the end of the writing process, he was still able to add his mark with cool textures on the record. The extra guitar certainly adds even more punch to HOWLING GIANT's sound, which delivers a slightly more aggressive approach compared with predecessor "Glass Future" (2023).

It also helped the overall feel of "Crucible & Ruin" that this is the band's first album to be entirely recorded in a proper studio setting as opposed to their home studio, "the bunker". HOWLING GIANT even leaned into some raw band live takes to capture the emotion in the room.

Lyrically, "Crucible & Ruin" explores the story of the clash of a novice deity against the forces of primordial chaos as an overarching theme that loosely connects the songs. This is also reflected in the album artwork, which was painted by the mother of guitarist and vocalist Tom Polzine, featuring a unique style of alcohol ink on yupo paper.

HOWLING GIANT hail from Nashville, Tennessee, USA, sidestepping the self-proclaimed Music City's assembly line of modern pop country while taking inspiration from the brilliant songwriters and virtuoso session players that keep the town's musical legacy burning bright. Fertile ground for a preeminent fuzz-psych power trio, now turned quartet, who consciously live in the pocket of that lineage!

Following a trilogy of EPs, "Howling Giant" (2015), "Black Hole Space Wizard: Part 1" (2016), and "Black Hole Space Wizard: Part 2" (2017), HOWLING GIANT struck a chord with critics and fans on their debut full-length "The Space between Worlds" in 2019. "Glass Future" proved a gargantuan leap for the band that now featured Sebastian Baltes, son of legendary ACCEPT bass master Peter Baltes. Released in 2023, "Glass Future" brought their outstanding musicianship and triple vocal attack fully into stride.

HOWLING GIANT storm forward once more in defiant refusal to remain still. Having grown into a four-piece as well as in their prowess as musicians and songwriters, "Crucible & Ruin" is an album at least as big as their name. Don't take our word for it, just give it a spin – or two or three...

HOWLING GIANT drop new video single 'Beholder I: Downfall' taken from forthcoming album "Crucible & Ruin"!

HOWLING GIANT reveal the video clip 'Beholder I: Downfall' as the next single taken from the cosmic stoner metal trio's forthcoming album "Crucible & Ruin". The third full-length by the Nashville, Tennessee band has been slated for release on October 31, 2025, via Magnetic Eye Records and is available for pre-order here: https://spkr.store/collections/howling-giant

Watch the video for 'Beholder I: Downfall' here:

"Our current single 'Beholder 1: Downfall' is a riff-driven heavy hitter, and in my opinion is one of the heaviest songs on the record", bass player and vocalist Sebastian Baltes states. "It was a pleasure to collaborate with Jerry Roe again on the video, having previously worked with him on the clip for 'Glass Future'. It has been particularly exciting for me to follow the journey of this song from its inception with a simple riff to a full blown song and the making of the video. I can hardly wait for you all to hear this track live!"

Sludge Metallers IVY GARDENS' Release New Video "Burden" From New Sophomore Album "Death of Don Valley" Out August 2025

Ivy Gardens, the experimental sludge metal band from Niagara Falls, Canada, has announced the release of their highly anticipated new music video for the single "Burden" and their sophomore album, "Death of Don Valley", set to drop on August 29th, 2025, via Paper Cut Recordings. The record marks a bold new chapter in the band’s sound, with more complex compositions, darker themes, and a shift into a more experimental and atmospheric direction.

Formed in the parking lot of Princess Auto, Ivy Gardens’ journey began with a mutual love for covering Rush instrumentals and an obsession with heavy, sludge-infused sound. From those humble beginnings, the band’s unique chemistry and vision have led to the creation of their most ambitious and thematically focused album yet.

"Burden", the first single from "Death of Don Valley", showcases a satirical take on nihilism, with dark and comical undertones. The track was one of the first songs written for the album and features a fast-paced, relentless tempo that gradually picks up speed in the studio. Lyrically, it's a satirical take on the archetypal nihilist, with a dose of doom and gloom that veers into a comical extreme. The band describes it as “quick and succinct” — a track that encapsulates the essence of their new sonic direction.

Watch and listen to the music video for "Burden" below:

Spotify - https://bit.ly/3FWpqwD

"Death of Don Valley" is a concept album, exploring the themes of death, decay, and the unstoppable erosion of life and the environment. The concept is rooted in the history of the Don Valley River, a once-thriving waterway now plagued by pollution and degradation. The album's artwork reflects this with the haunting image of a corpse between the banks of the flooded river, anthropomorphizing the water itself as it becomes a symbol of death and decay.

The material on "Death of Don Valley" was designed to be heard live, with massive stacks of amplifiers and a commitment to delivering the music in all its raw, unfiltered glory. It marks a bold new direction for Ivy Gardens; the band has no plans of slowing down. Their dedication to the project is evident in every note they play and every lyric they write as they continue to push musical boundaries and explore new sonic territories. Lyrically, the record draws from a mix of historical events, such as the tragic story of Canadian bush pilot Martin Hartwell, and fictional narratives, creating a dark and gripping atmosphere. The songs explore everything from violence, death, and survival to environmental destruction and existential dread. As the band explains:

"Death of Don Valley is the natural progression of their sound, with more complexity and a deliberate thematic structure. Musically, it marks a shift in Ivy Gardens’ approach. This album is darker, more experimental, and more intricate than our previous work on 2024's Goon. While Goon carried a more positive, energetic vibe, this LP is more about confronting the darker aspects of life, and it reflects a deeper exploration into musical and thematic complexity."

Ivy Gardens' influences are vast, ranging from progressive icons like Rush, Yes, and King Crimson to sludge pioneers like EYEHATEGOD and Iron Monkey. Their sound blends elements of stoner metal, sludge, math rock, and progressive rock, creating an unpredictable listening experience that takes the listener through a series of emotional and sonic landscapes.

Fans of Ivy Gardens can expect an intense live performance soon, as the band does plan to tour in support of the new album this coming September. Stay tuned for dates to be announced, and Ivy Gardens are bringing their thunderous sound to stages nationwide. Expect a live show that will test the limits of your ears and your emotions.

"Death of Don Valley" (out August 29th) is available for pre-order at https://ivygardens.bandcamp.com/

Doom-psych trio OCCULT HAND ORDER to unleash chimerical new live video "Sailors" - off their upcoming LP due out on October 20th.

French doom-psych magicians OCCULT HAND ORDER unveil new track "Sailors" off their upcoming album 'Silence By The Raging Sea' available on October 20th 2023. They also reveal the artwork and more details about the release, as well as a bunch a tour dates across Europe.

Heavy-psych/post-rock crew OCCULT HAND ORDER have this ability to combine psychedelia and occult doom to produce an exhilarating soundscape, spiced with spectacular riffs and a crushing rhythmic pattern. Off their upcoming album 'Silence By The Raging Sea', new video "Sailors" was shot in Lyon, France, in Chromatique by Morgane Dezaubris and recorded by Tins. Hugo Zepah (bass/vocals) explains: "Sailors is courage in vain as we face the Beast that will in the end devour us. Facing the storm thundering. It's fear that wins over the toughest of us".

With their new album 'Silence By The Raging Sea', OCCULT HAND ORDER play on the apocalyptic aspect of doom and post-rock-inspired soundscapes to point out an overwhelming, sometimes paralysing anxiety. In the absence of solution, violence and darkness provide an obvious way out. Like slow, impetuous waves, each track delivers a beauty either hypnotic or shattering. This gem has been mastered by Magnus Lindberg, Cult Of Luna's guitarist. Recorded and mixed by Roman Peyr in Chasseneuil, France. Art direction: TINS. Mastering: Magnus Lindberg (Cult Of Luna). Artwork: Morgane Dezaubris (Mobsidian).

Formed in Lyon, France, in 2018, heavy psychedelic trio OCCULT HAND ORDER might be defined as an interstellar ship committed to carrying cinder blocks from one foggy planet to another. Cosmicity, heaviness and esotericism colour doom, sludge and stoner riffs. The vocal harmonies are intense and lend a magical mysticism to the compositions.

Following the release of a self-titled debut effort in 2019, Occult Hand Order approached the appropriately named Interstellar Smoke Records label and offered the public the EP 'The Chained The Burned The Wounded'. The EP is warmly welcomed by the critics, opening the roads of the best European stages to the trio. Driven by the dynamism of these two releases, the French men's upcoming new studio album 'Silence By The Raging Sea' is due out on October 20th 2023.
