Hardcore Punk/Sludge Metallers PARK+RIOT Release New Video For THE END And Announce UK/German Tour Dates

PARK+RIOT presents the second video from the band's intense live recording session, which was recorded at HoboRec Studios earlier this year. Watch the video for the track ‘The End’ by the MATHCORE/SLUDGE band from Leipzig HERE and share it. Tour dates for the UK and Germany announced!

Comments the band: "The track weaves together post-metal textures, spoken word, and black metal influences, revealing a more introspective side of the band. Lyrically, it confronts the emotional cost of staying engaged in a world that rewards apathy."

Park+Riot Share Live Session for "The End". To celebrate the first anniversary of their debut album Wise Words From Well-Fed Mouths, Leipzig’s sludge/mathcore duo Park+Riot have unveiled a live session of their track “The End” — recorded in collaboration with producer Ulf Blomberg (HoboRec).

A departure from Park+Riot's high-energy and chaotic mathcore sound, “The End” dives into darker, more atmospheric territory.

Fittingly the session was captured at The End Studios in Sweden, with Blomberg bringing out the band’s dynamic depth and sonic tension — all created with just two instruments and voices.

UK Dates:

Tues 21 Oct – Oxford | The Wheatsheaf
Wed 22 Oct – Bristol | The Gryphon
Fri 24 Oct – Bournemouth | Anvil
Sat 25 Oct – London | The Dev

Review

Dogma is the debut album from Mathcore/Post-Hardcore/Sludge Metal misfits Mæth Dæmon where they also add instances of Noise, Punk and Japanoise into the mix. The end result is an experimental style of Sludge Metal that has a twisted sense of sound, purpose and identity. Adding flutes, saxophone and trumpets is also a big “turn-off” for me as I’m not a fan of those instruments being added to Doom, Sludge and Stoner Metal.

Those elements don’t really work here but I will say they’re superbly played by the individuals (Alessio Bernardi and Ludovico Franco) who play on this blistering, pissed off and fast-paced record. Mæth Dæmon (which is obviously a pun on Matt Damon) and it shows the band do have a sly sense of humour and I’m beginning to wonder if they were inspired by Team America and instead of Good Will Hunting that’s mentioned on their BandCamp Page.

The record is violent, chaotic and feels like you’re being pummelled to death by a mighty sledgehammer over and over again. Mæth Dæmon perhaps falls within the more experimental side of Sludge Metal with their harsh growls and glitchy electronica beats that craft a warped sense of security. There is a drug induced psychedelic environment forming within the record which comes alive on the excellent second track Phalanx.

For the most part Mæth Dæmon changes musical direction throughout the album with different levels of glitchy FX sounds and trip-hop beats that gave a murky Sludge Metal makeover on tracks such as Cargo, Fossils, Prompt Engineering, Settlers and Screen Time. You can hear influences as diverse as Melt Banana, NIN, The Melvins and Mike Patton which allows Dogma to be quite an unsettling and highly unapologetic record which some folks may turn off before everything is said and done.

Whilst the production values are not perfect with some vocal moments being quite hard to make out with the onslaught of multiple levels of crazed heaviness going on. However, this adds to the overall crazed nature of Dogma with Mæth Dæmon excelling in the least likeliest of places that makes you glad you've listened to the album in full.

If you’re looking for something weird, experimental, daring and different then Mæth Dæmon may be the band for you.

Excellent and Highly Recommended.

07 - Perception Review
08 - Blessed Or Cursed

Today is also the day the band released a new single and official music video for 'When They Lock The Door.' Watch it below:

Turin, 2007: this is the genesis of Origod. Their sound is a unique blend of Cave In and early Mastodon sounds, songs full of groove and melodies for an extraordinary Post-Metal and Hardcore assault.

In 2008 they participated in the "Nightpieces Vol. 5" compilation by the Turin-based Dracma Records, with the song: "Freedom Is In The End", produced by Carlo Ortolano. Then they participate with Braindamage, Broken Glazz, Medusa and other bands at the Dracma Metal Festival.

They released their first album "A New Dawn Fades" for One Voice Recordings in 2010, produced by Daniele Giordana, a sound engineer who boasts many important live and studio collaborations with Monster Magnet, Hatebreed, Machine Head and many others.

In the following years they performed around a hundred concerts in northern Italy, sharing the stage with: Abraham, Eric Forrest (Voivod), Titor, Sunpocrisy, Skarhead, Ultra-Violence, Strange Fear, Stigma, Jordaan, Concrete Block, Ruggine, Infall, O, An evening with knives, If I die today, Fuco, Tons, Doctor Cyclops, Nudist, Juggernaut and many others.

On March 30, 2018 they released their second album "Solitude in Time and Space" for ARGONAUTA Records, well reviewed by critics and audiences. The album was produced by Danilo Battocchio at Deepest Sea Studio in Turin.

In 2021 the band add to its original lineup: Rubens Caligiuri (Sneakers, Turin hard-core band in the 90s) as an additional guitarist and drummer Marco Di Nocco (Medusa, Tons and NoInfo) who will replace Luciano Cotta, involved in other music projects.

The five-piece band is currently working on its new album “Impression” in Redwood Recording Studio, which marks an important further evolution of their sound.

Origod:

Rubens Caligiuri – guitar
Dario Chiadini – guitar
Vincenzo Circosta – voice
Marco Di Nocco – drums
Marco Miglietti – bass guitar

Wise Words From Well-Fed Mouths' Debut Full-Length From Mathcore/Sludge Metallers PARK+RIOT Out Now via This Charming Man Records

The band had this to say about the album: “We recorded `Wise Words from Well-Fed Mouths´ in our self build studio Kuntergrund together with a friend. Drums and Guitar were recorded live in the same room, with lots of bleeding on each microphone. In the album there are no extra layers of guitar, except for `Cure´ which wes recorded differently. We recorded all the songs in one week and some of them were even written in that time like `The Long Run´or `Seeds´.

Afterwards we didn’t touch the songs for some months and then started recording the vocals. The true beauty of the tracks came out when Magnus Lindberg did the Mixing and Mastering. He did an amazing job, with these tricky signals!

Finding a label who wanted to release something like this was tricky. Chris from `This Charming Man-Records´ listened to it, said it’s bulky and far from popular, and we started working together. We are really happy about that. Last but not least we got a funding for our album, so it was the first time we could do some promotion, bring a cameraman to our tour in Israel before the release and shoot some fancy music videos.”

Earlier this Month the Band Unleashed the 'Boltcutters' Single and Video where you can watch below:

Leipzig's mathcore/sludge duo Park+Riot release third single 'Boltcutters' from their upcoming album 'Wise Words From Well-Fed Mouths'. Boltcutters is a dynamic and propulsive track, inspired by the experience of working in a refugee-camp in Lesvos (Greece). Witnessing violence in various forms against migrants at the EU border inevitably leads to an awareness of one's own privileges. Boltcutters is the resulting outcry for radical change and equal rights for all! The new album, Wise Words from Well-Fed Mouths, is set to be released on March 15th via This Charming Man Records and can be pre-ordered here:

Noise & Sludge influenced Mathcore band KRZTA premiere new single!

Polish mathcore band KRZTA have announced an October 8th release date for their new album "ŻÓŁĆ.NISZCZENIE.ZGLISZCZE.". First track of the upcoming record called "Istota" is now streaming on YouTube. The album will be released by Polish independent label Piranha Music.

LISTEN TO THE SINGLE: https://youtu.be/4o-5MtZb95w

KRZTA was formed in Olsztyn (Poland) in 2015. Their music is a heavy and loud mix of mathcore with sludge, noise or even post-metal influences full of anger, massive riffs, driven by a bone-crushing rhythm section. Their self-titled debut album was highly appreciated in the Polish underground metal scene, but what the band is famous for are their AMAZING and really intense live shows.
