DOMKRAFT premiere music video 'Eclipse (Outlast the Night)' taken from new album "Night Songs"

DOMKRAFT drop the music video 'Eclipse (Outlast the Night)' as the next advance track taken from their forthcoming new full-length "Night Songs". The fifth album from the heavy psychedelic rockers from Sweden is set for release on November 20, 2026, via Magnetic Eye Records. The album is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION.

Watch the video for 'Eclipse (Outlast the Night)' here:

DOMKRAFT comment: "This is one of the cleanest, most airy songs we have ever written, yet it still brings decent heft, groove and some melancholy, with a kind of punch-drunk feel", vocalist and bass player Martin Wegeland explains. "It is the sense of fighting to stay awake, trying to battle back sleep and be there for the sunrise, and all that happens in your head while doing so."

Tracklist

1. Unnamed
2. Lights On
3. Aurora
4. Void Runner
5. Eclipse (Outlast the Night)
6. Dead Rocket
7. Tunnels

Personal experience of any kind has always inspired artists. It is therefore hardly surprising that the traumatic medical crisis which DOMKRAFT guitarist Martin Widholm faced in 2025 has found an echo on the Swedes' fifth album "Night Songs". Although his band mates didn’t have to undergo several complicated surgeries as he did, they were of course also affected as bystanders in less threatening but nonetheless meaningful ways.

Their collective outlook on life and what is truly important shifted during this period of terror. When the band started working on new songs during Widholm’s long phase of recovery, many contradictory feelings surfaced in both the music and the lyrics. From fear bordering on panic, the pendulum swung to cautious relief. And through sadness and joy, hope and despair, they went all the way to finally arrive at the humbling realisation that they were still able to do what they dearly love: creating music.

The album title, "Night Songs", partly stems from the Swedes' experiences during the past year, but also crosses into the broad idea of darkness versus light. This can mean personal hardships, the present state of the world, or the concept of actual night itself. The night may turn into a time of regret, solitude and insomnia but also into the opposite, as a calm phase of relief, relaxation, and even debauchery. All of this happens at night. And just maybe, these "Night Songs" could foremost deal with resilience.

Nordic trio DOMKRAFT have always been true to their musical course, but also grew audibly in maturity with each new release, honing their considerable songwriting skills on each outing. Gradually and through determination and small tweaks and nuances, their stylistic range shifted from towering doom anthems towards heavy rock with psychedelic influences.

DOMKRAFT sprung into being when singer and bass player Martin Wegeland, guitarist Martin Widholm, and drummer Anders Dahlgren realised that they had firmly bonded over a mutual love of bands such as SPACEMEN 3, MONSTER MAGNET, SLEEP, and HAWKWIND.

DOMKRAFT's monolithic 2016 debut album, "The End of Electricity", drew equally from the heaviness, psychedelia, and hypnotic minimalism of their influences. Building on this foundation and with a curious lust for experimentation, the trio explored different sonic angles and musical avenues while building an ever-growing audience and continued critical acclaim with each following release: "Flood" (2018), "Seeds" (2021), and "Sonic Moons" (2023).

DOMKRAFT furthermore established an excellent reputation as a considerable live force and audience magnet on both sides of the Atlantic. The trio performed at such prestigious festivals as four Desertfests (BE, DE, UK & US), Psycho Las Vegas (US), Blow Up (FI), Sonic Whip (NL), Høstsabbat (NO) ArcTanGent (UK), and many more.

"Night Songs" was recorded at the renowned Studio Gröndahl in Stockholm by David Castillo (OPETH, CANDLEMASS, KATATONIA et al.). Karl Daniel Lidén (GREENLEAF, LOWRIDER, BREACH) was asked to maintain DOMKRAFT's sonic identity by again mixing and mastering the album.

"Night Songs" should be enjoyed like a feverish, dream-like cocktail that is expertly mixed from equal parts deafening quiet and soothing loud noises, then sprinkled with insomnia, relief, contemplation, and a dash of red-hot anger for raw spice.

DOMKRAFT reveal music video 'Void Runner' & details of forthcoming new album "Night Songs

DOMKRAFT present the first advance single, 'Void Runner', taken from their forthcoming new full-length "Night Songs". The fifth album from the heavy psychedelic rockers from Sweden is slated for release on November 20, 2026, via Magnetic Eye Records. The album is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION.

Watch the video for "Void Runner" here:

DOMKRAFT comment: "You know the feeling when you think that from here on things can only get better?", vocalist and bass player Martin Wegeland asks rhetorically. "The idea that you’ve finally reached rock bottom? Well, the state of the world always proves you wrong. This song is basically saying: 'give us your best shot, fuckers!' At this stage, we are prepared for almost everything. We are done believing and have fully switched to brace yourself mode. Yet, this song is definitely not about resigning or giving up. In fact, it rather deals with amassing enough power to cope without cracking, and possibly even dance while doing so."

Review

Sludge/Stoner Metallers Domkraft celebrate their tenth anniversary as a band by re-releasing their acclaimed 2015 debut EP. Since then, the band have released four albums, two EPs, and a live record to critical acclaim within the Heavy Rock scene. The original EP was my first introduction to this great band and the signs were already there with Domkraft’s heavy fusion of Prog, Psych, Sludge, Doom and Stoner grooves contained within a heavy vortex of Cosmic Metal.

Domkraft have re-released their debut EP and have upgraded this to full length album status by adding two new tracks Spiral Man and The Bane to this new version. The original’s EP vibe and energy is still here with minimal interference within the recordings though some parts do sound a letter fresher, fuzzier and heavier compared to the original release. You can hear glimpses of Domkraft’s trademark Cosmic Fuzz heavy sound that’s underplayed against a torrent of frantic Sludge/Stoner Metal grooves that pays respect to the likes of Monster Magnet and SLEEP.

The band may have transformed into a heavier, riffier and progressive unit from this moment on but it’s great to hear where it all started especially within the outstanding original four tracks of Concrete Waves, Horses Horses, Invaders and Treeman. As back then, Domkraft weren’t the finished article here and it’s still great to feel and hear the band developing their highly destructive sound when the heavier distorted elements appear.

The vocals from Martin Wegeland have stood the tests of time with this release and his delivery hasn’t changed much over the last decade. The songwriting and technical musicianship of the band has brilliantly developed and improved with each subsequent release.

The two new tracks of Spiral Noises and The Bane maybe perhaps better to the likes of Seeds and Sonic Moon but these are a great inclusion to this record which shows how Domkraft have crafted their own great style of Psychedelic and Space Rock exploration. The vocals have a modern day energy to them and can be quite volatile with the music being more Space Rock dominant with an underlying current of frenzied Sludge guitars that is quite refreshing with the intense grounded assault of Domkraft’s other members of Martin Widholm (guitars) and Anders Dahlgren (drums) playing their part as well in cementing as Domkraft’s status as one of the most essential Sludge/Stoner Metal bands to know about right now.

If you haven’t heard of Domkraft before then this is the perfect place to start with a highly captivating and superbly realized vision packed full of COSMIC DOOM and EPIC SPACE SLUDGE grooves. Long time fans will be in absolute HEAVEN with this release with their classic debut EP given the full length album makeover it truly deserves.

Doom Metal Masters DOMKRAFT reveal new single 'The Bane' & details of enhanced reissue of "Domkraft"

Swedish psychedelic doom masters DOMKRAFT reveal 'The Bane' as an advance single from their reissue of the 2015 self-titled EP "Domkraft", which has been upgraded to an album with two new unreleased tracks. The "Domkraft" release is scheduled for June 27, 2025.

In further news, DOMKRAFT have announced a co-headlining summer tour with label mates HOWLING GIANT in the US. Please see below for album details and all currently confirmed live dates.

DOMKRAFT discuss the reissue: "2025 marks the 10-year anniversary of the very first Domkraft release, our self-issued and seltf-titled EP", singer and bass player Martin Wegeland writes.

"Only 250 copies were printed that have been sold out for many years. The time felt right to do a re-release and combine the four original tracks with two new and unreleased songs to make it an album experience. We've been on the fence about reissuing the EP as there is a certain beauty to something not being widely available anymore.

Yet those songs still make their way into our sets from time to time, so it makes sense for people to be able to get them on physical media. Funny story; the entire original recording was more or less improvised over a weekend. We just had the riffs and a loose idea of how they would fit together, meaning that the different takes on each song could vary from five minutes to fifteen plus. I think the versions that made it are the middle ground ones. To us, it is still a cool release and hard to pigeonhole due to its unhinged nature."

DOMKRAFT 'The Bane' taken from the album "Domkraft"

DOMKRAFT comment on the single: "We originally wrote 'The Bane' for the 'Planet of Doom' movie soundtrack", Martin Wegeland explains. "It was the first time that we composed within a pre-determined framework, which was a stimulating challenge. It worked out surprisingly well compared to how we usually structure our songs. It is also one of the heavier tracks that we have ever done. As it was recorded in between 'Flood and Seeds', it has one leg in each album cycle, which I think is quite audible. Plus, this is the very first time that we've ever sung about dragons."

Tracklist

1. Concrete Waves
2. Horses Horses
3. Invaders
4. Treeman
5. Spiral Noises
6. The Bane

When the self-released and self-titled "Domkraft" EP came out in 2015, it was for many the first sign of life from the Swedes. That the 250 original copies sold out quickly is a testament to the strong appeal of the fuzz-driven, psychedelic riff-doom cosmos that DOMKRAFT created right from the start. And it just kept growing over the course of 10 years, four albums, two EPs, and a live record.

Their musical journey has navigated the galactic psyche and into alternate metaphysical realities in search of escape, respite, and release. Although DOMKRAFT have generally stayed true to the direction of their musical course with every new release, the Nordic trio has also constantly evolved, audibly matured, and sharpened their writing skills. On latest full-length "Sonic Moons" (2023), their trademark towering doom anthems remain, but with an ever so slight shift toward heavy rock through small tweaks and nuances.

DOMKRAFT were conceived when singer and bassist Martin Wegeland, guitarist Martin Widholm, and drummer Anders Dahlgren bonded over a mutual love of bands such as SPACEMEN 3, MONSTER MAGNET, SLEEP, and HAWKWIND. Drawing from the heaviest of their combined influences, they crafted a sound that blends monolithic dirges, mind-bending psychedelia, and hypnotic minimalism, as embodied by DOMKRAFT's massive 2016 first album "The End of Electricity", the crushing 2018 follow-up "Flood" and the acclaimed and massively amplified third and fourth full-lengths "Seeds" (2021) and "Sonic Moons".

Over the course of the last decade, DOMKRAFT have established a reputation as a major live force and performed at prestigious festivals such as the Desertfests (BE and DE), Psycho Las Vegas (US), Blow Up (FI), Sonic Whip (NL), Ripplefest Texas (US), Hostsabbat (NO) and many others.

As a lovely anniversary offering for their dedicated and ever-growing following, DOMKRAFT finally reissue their much sought after debut EP that has been lovingly upgraded to a full-length album.

Review:

Sonic Moons is the new album from Doom/Sludge/Stoner Metal heavyweights Domkraft and once again they embrace their love for all things Psychedelic, Cosmic, Fuzz and Spaced Out Heaviness. The influence of bands such as SLEEP, Monster Magnet and Spacemen 3 remains but there’s a sludgy Progressive vibe drawing on bands such as Mastodon. However, Sonic Moons is most definitely a Domkraft release with its sludgy and fuzzy overtones that offer a more adventurous sound for the band to build upon.

Opening song Whispers allows Domkraft to play their trademark FUZZ heavy guitars and psychedelic layers of Space Rock sounds. The song slowly changes into a more subtle style of Progressive and Post-Doom grooves with the vocals building upto a more frenzied pace. However, it’s the Post-Rock or Atmospheric Sludge elements that appear later within the song that gives this a more “world-building” quality to the whole album. The music is melodic and aggressively violent at the same time with the BOMBASTIC levels of FUZZ that can be quite deafening in places.

Second song Stellar Winds opens with a killer guitar riff that would make Monster Magnet proud but with a more vibrant level of FUZZ Rock slowly merging into a more distorted Psychedelic Sludge sound. Martin’s vocals once again stand their own ground against the fast-paced violent grooves with this showing a more dangerous side to Domkraft. The music is quite melodic and soulful in places even with the levels of distortion heard throughout the album. Domkraft once again moves into that “CINEMATIC” and “WORLD BUILDING” style of music with both the lyrics and intense extended grooves being played at a more furious pace.

Third song Magnetism continues the creative route(s) of the previous track but with a more subdued delivery. The song is more DOOM & GLOOM with Martin’s vocals once again having a sense of despair behind them. Domkraft moves further into the AMPLIFIER DISTORTED and GUITAR REVERB abyss with the music being quite bleak and opaque. The instrumental work is quite multi-layered and challenging to hear at times but allows this to be one of the standout tracks on the album. The later stages of the track is quite experimental with the glitchy Ambient noises and sounds being quite intense when merged with Domkraft’s trademark Psychedelic Sludgy guitars.

Fourth song Slowburner is classic sounding Domkraft through and through. The progressive and psychedelic sounds become more Doom Based with a true END OF THE WORLD feeling with the lyrics hitting upon this narrative throughout the song. The music is more insane and top-notch Atmospheric Metal with high levels of Distorted Fuzz leading the creative charge.

The final stages of the album showcases perhaps some of the best music that Domkraft have released to date on songs such as Downpour, Black Moon Rising and The Big Chill. As the music is more aggressive and sees Domkraft play with a new sense of dystopian purpose on the tracks Downpour and Black Moon Rising. The mood moves from Post-Doom, Psych Rock, Ambient Metal to full on Sludge/Stoner Metal aggression. Downpour and Black Moon Rising are two of the shortest tracks on the album running over four minutes each. However, both of these tracks feel twice as long thanks to Domkraft’s wicked style of Progressive Sludge Metal that has dark areas of Fuzz Metal that could rival the mighty Electric Wizard in places.

The final song The Big Chill runs for almost ten minutes and is the most daring and heaviest song on the album. The atmosphere is more theatrical in places but it’s the non-stop style of different Doom/Sludge/Stoner Metal creative themes that build upto an exciting finish that will leave you wholly satisfied.

Sonic Moons is a record that features first-rate production values that allows Domkraft every chance to prove why they’re one of the finest and standout bands from the Swedish Doom/Sludge/Stoner Metal scene.

The album has fastly become my favourite album I’ve heard this year and I have a feeling that won’t change for me. As this is Domkraft’s most outstanding and definitive release to date. This is being released on the same day as Doom Metal Titans SLOMATICS new album Strontium Fields and they’re both the perfect companion albums to each other.

DOMKRAFT Release Video Single 'Whispers' Taken From Forthcoming New Album "Sonic Moons"

Take a sizzling road-trip with Swedish psychedelic doom masters DOMKRAFT and their new video single 'Whispers' taken from their highly-anticipated fourth album "Sonic Moons", which is chalked-up for release on September 8, 2023 via Magnetic Eye Records. The album pre-sale is available via: http://lnk.spkr.media/sonic-moons

The video clip 'Whispers' is now streaming below:

DOMKRAFT comment: "The new single 'Whispers' is not quite as subtle as the title suggests, but it's not all upper case riff-o-rama during those nine minutes either", vocalist and bass player Martin Wegeland elaborates. "We wanted a touch of weightlessness while keeping the pounding grooves to create a creeping sense of forward motion. To me, the mid-section solo is the centerpiece of the track and really showcases the wide range of Martin [Widholm]'s influences as a guitarist. The harmonies, together with the different energies and densities of the song, make it fairly representative of what the album is about: confined energy and release."

On their fourth album, "Sonic Moons", Sweden's DOMKRAFT set forth on a voyage into the inner cosmos, riding their fuzz-driven, psychedelic riff-doom through the galactic psyche and into alternate metaphysical realities, all in search of escape, respite, and release.

DOMKRAFT generally stay true to their musical course on the new effort, but the Nordic trio has audibly matured and sharpened their writing as well. The trademark towering doom anthems remain, but with an ever so slight shift toward heavy rock through small tweaks and nuances.

That the Swedes returned to Welfare Sounds Studio on the outskirts of Gothenburg to work once more with studio heads Kalle Lilja and Per Stålberg has probably contributed as much to DOMKRAFT keeping their unique sonic identity as letting Karl Daniel Lidén (GREENLEAF, KATATONIA, LOWRIDER) again apply his mixing wizardry on "Sonic Moons".

DOMKRAFT formed when singer and bassist Martin Wegeland, guitarist Martin Widholm, and drummer Anders Dahlgren bonded over a mutual love of bands such as SPACEMEN 3, MONSTER MAGNET, SLEEP, and HAWKWIND. DOMKRAFT have long established a reputation as a major live force and have performed at prestigious festivals such as the Desertfests (BE and DE), Psycho Las Vegas (US), Blow Up (FI), Sonic Whip (NL), Hostsabbat (NO) and many others.

With "Sonic Moons", DOMKRAFT blast through the escape hatch to the emotionally charged inner spaces of the mind, soaring through fantastic new solar systems toward unexplored musical planets. Now is the perfect time to embark on the intergalactic journey with them!

DOMKRAFT reveal first single 'Slowburner' and details of forthcoming new album "Sonic Moons"

Swedish psychedelic doom masters DOMKRAFT have released the relentless new track 'Slowburner' as the first single from their highly-anticipated fourth album "Sonic Moons", which is slated for release September 8.

DOMKRAFT discuss the forthcoming album: "The theme of 'Sonic Moons' is not as much space as the title might suggest, it is essentially all about escapism", singer and bass player Martin Wegeland writes. "To find that spot in your head and body where you can feel liberated and, if only briefly, escape the constant flood of burden that is life in the real world. Think of 'Sonic Moons' as a pill blister pack, where each song has its own active ingredient. Or an imaginary solar system where each track is its own planet. A galaxy of tunes, with different gravity, different temperatures. A riff- and rhythm-fueled exploration of inner and outer space. It's about longing, hope, frustration, relief, and some plain old mindfucking. All by means of heavy rock."

You can watch the awesome new track Slowburner below:

Pre-order Sonic Moons

DOMKRAFT elaborate about the single: "Of all the songs on the new album, 'Slowburner' is probably the most straightforward, as it revolves around a grinding yet kind of catchy riff", Martin Wegeland continues. "It's a straight-up heavy rock song about suddenly realizing that you're drifting into an expanding black hole, be it in a physical or spiritual sense. It could be a fragmented stream of thoughts from someone who is in and out of consciousness, adrift in a galactic escape pod, or it could be what keeps an insomniac earthling awake, given the state of everything."

Review

Ascend/Descend is the new split album from underground Doom/Stoner Metal heroes Domkraft and Slomatics. Throw in the added bonus of both bands covering each other's music with Domkraft performing Slomatics classic And Yet It Moves with Slomatics performing Domkraft classic Dustrider.

Both bands are in splendid gloomy form with heavy spaced out grooves that everyone is known for. These guys do feel like different sides of the same coin and this release proves that point superbly well with Domkraft playing a more multi-layered Psychedelic Doom/Stoner Metal sound. The standout song from their side of the album is The Core Will Pull You Home.

With that song being a heavy monolithic spell of Doom fused Psych Stoner Metal with lashes of ambient noises and great vocals to match. Their cover of And Yet It Moves is a stunning rendition which manages to be quite different to Slomatics original but still highly recognisable as well. Perhaps a bit more “out there” than the original but a fantastic cover in its own right.

Slomatics bring their usual “A” game to the split with an inspired vocal performance from Marty who has been trying different vocal styles over the last couple releases. If you’re a fan of Slomatics then the two new songs Positive Runes and Buried Axes On Regulus Minor carry a similar vibe heard on their last acclaimed album Canyons. Their trademark FUZZ heavy SPACED OUT sound remains intact with thunderous drive and energy but with perhaps a less is more approach when the heavier moments appear.

Their cover of Domkraft’s Dustrider is excellent and feels like a Slomatics track through and through with the band giving it a Spaced Out Doom makeover. This version is on twice the length of the original with Slomatics slowing things right down for a more droned out effort compared to the original.

Ascend/Descend has the potential to be the standout releases of the year. It's seriously that good. With this being released via Majestic Mountain Records then you seriously need to add this album to your record collection.

This is simply a masterclass of Psychedelic Doom/Stoner Metal by two of the finest bands the Doom/Stoner Metal scene has to offer.

Review

I'm just going to come right out and say it. Domkraft is, in my humble opinion, the best damn band on the planet right now. I was excited when I saw the band was coming out with their third full length, so I jumped at the chance to review. Hot damn, I was not disappointed. More specifically, the new album Seeds is the bands best yet. It is an album of the year contender, and frankly, it is the album of the year so far.

Any unfamiliar with Domkraft, their sound is lead blanket heavy, hypnotic, and intense. The trio weaves massive riffs, smothering bass, and monstrous drumming with intense, expressive vocals. Their sound thrilling and mesmerizing, yet in an odd way calming. Like looking at the eye of a storm.

The title track opens the album. Seeds is a nine minute opus and the bands best song of their entire impressive catalogue. Intense, rocking, and mesmerizing. Another nine minute titan follows.

The Perpetuator continues the aural onslaught with the trademark massiveness the band brings. The intense Into Orbit is next. Psych heavy and full of emotion filled vocals drive the intensity off the charts with this one. The pummelling riffs continue with the fuzz wash and somewhat tribal feel of Dawn of Man. The song goes on a momentarily more fellow feel only to have the intensity revved up to max again throughout this ripper.

Tremors kicks in next with feedback and an ominous groove. The track lures you in with a mellow, while still heavy as hell, vibe. Before erupting in a flanged, phased, and fuzzed climax.

Krank Blekhet is a brief echoey and dissonant lead in to the albums closer. The intense and driving Audiodome. Another nine minute titan full of power and intensity. Strained vocals lead the tightly wound song careening deep into the listeners psyche and soul.

Domkraft is on the short list of my favourite bands out there today. Honestly, they very well may be the best band on the planet. Seeds is easily their Magnum opus. Do yourself the ultimate favour. Buy the record. Crank it up and lose yourself in the dense atmospheric pressure and thunderstorm sound of Domkraft. You will not be disappointed.

Review

Swedish Psychedelic Doom/Stoner Metallers Domkraft were another band invited by Magnetic Eye Records to perform at the Day Of Doom Festival. Day Of Doom Festival is explained better below:

Magnetic Eye Records invited our four flagship bands to perform at our DAY OF DOOM label showcase, a once-in-a-lifetime gathering of our premier bands on the same stage.

Each performance was carefully captured to be issued as an exclusive live album to commemorate the event and the first decade in business of Magnetic Eye Records.

One of my favourite discoveries from the Magnetic Eye Records label. Ever since I heard their 2016 debut full length album – The End Of Electricity. Domkraft drew me in with their heavy ans splendid blend of Psych Rock, Doom Metal, Sludge Metal and Stoner Metal with a world-weary Cosmic/Spaced Out sound driving everything along.

These guys have perhaps released the most impressive set for myself personally of the 4 Live Albums that have been released. Domkraft are bang-on point performing a collection of their well-known songs with aggressive precision that draws you in from the very start.

The album contains songs from albums that have been released via Magnetic Eye Records and you are treated to some genuine favourites such as The Rift, Through The Ashes, Meltdown Of The Orb and Landslide being played to a very cool and lucky audience in attendance at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, New York.

Domkraft play to their strengths on this Live Performance and the atmosphere is ELECTRIC with heavy guitars and superb vocals leading the way. The ambient soundscapes the band uses on their albums sounds great on the live stage though with a raw presence which did take some time to fully get used to.

The performance lasts for 48 minutes and the production is excellent from start to finish. This will make you feel being at the actual concert itself with the raw-sounding atmosphere being one of the best parts of the whole experience.

Domkraft played a fantastic set and the evidence is here with this thrilling and superb Live Album from one of Sweden’s best upcoming Doom/Stoner Metal bands.
