RISPERIDRONE Announce Debut Album Black Shuck and Deliver Their Most Ambitious Statement Yet

Cardiff heavy rock quartet RISPERIDRONE have announced their long awaited debut album, Black Shuck, due for release this Summer 2026.

Six years in the making, Black Shuck is the culmination of years of growth, experimentation and unwavering dedication from one of Wales' most exciting emerging heavy bands. Blending crushing groove metal, monolithic doom, sludge drenched riffs and soaring melodies, the album captures RISPERIDRONE at their most ambitious, delivering a collection of songs that is heavier, darker and more emotionally resonant than anything they have released before.

Formed in Cardiff during the summer of 2020 by former Junk DNA members Wigg Grant and Rob Edwards, RISPERIDRONE reunited with drummer Tom Kirkby before completing the line up in 2023 with vocalist Giac Fiderio. Emerging during the uncertainty of the global pandemic, the band channelled adversity into creativity, forging a sound that seamlessly blends groove metal, stoner rock, sludge and doom into a powerful and immersive listening experience.

Since their formation, RISPERIDRONE have steadily built a formidable reputation across the Welsh heavy music scene through the acclaimed Revenant EP and a string of increasingly ambitious singles including Lost to the Sea, Grimace, The Embalmed, Dirge, Wizard Weed and Anvil. Each release has showcased the band's evolution, laying the foundations for their defining statement.

Produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by guitarist Wigg Grant at WG Audio, Black Shuck is a testament to the band's fiercely independent ethos. Every towering riff, thunderous groove and haunting vocal has been meticulously crafted to balance crushing heaviness with genuine emotional depth, resulting in an album that is both sonically devastating and richly atmospheric.

Rather than following the path of a traditional concept album, Black Shuck embraces creative freedom. Inspired by the lyrical approaches of Kurt Cobain, Thom Yorke and Chino Moreno, the songs move effortlessly between deeply personal reflection and vivid storytelling. Themes of anxiety, resilience, hope and self discovery intertwine with folklore, mythology and horror, drawing listeners into a world inhabited by wandering spirits, cryptids, vampires and the darkness that exists within us all.

Musically, the album showcases every facet of RISPERIDRONE's identity. Colossal doom riffs collide with groove laden hooks, suffocating sludge gives way to soaring melodies, and moments of eerie restraint erupt into overwhelming walls of sound. The result is a record that feels cinematic in scope while remaining relentlessly heavy from beginning to end.

Musicpedia of Metal described the band as delivering "a haunting fusion of doom, groove and metal... long, slow distorted riffs, abridged by moments of clarity that create atmospheres before crashing down again." Black Shuck builds on that reputation with the band's most confident, expansive and accomplished work to date.

Momentum has continued to gather around RISPERIDRONE following performances alongside Froglord, Bokassa and The Wildhearts, while their selection for the Creative Wales funded Ascension Project further cemented their reputation as one of Wales' rising heavy acts. A powerful new live show, fresh merchandise and an expanding presence across the UK live circuit all signal a band entering an exciting new chapter.

With Black Shuck, RISPERIDRONE are not simply releasing their debut album. They are announcing themselves as one of the UK's most compelling new voices in modern heavy music. Combining the weight of doom, the groove of stoner metal and the aggression of contemporary heavy rock, Black Shuck is a bold, uncompromising debut that demands attention.

Argentinian Doom/Stoner Rock Legends NATAS Announce One Off Performance on November 13th 2026 at C Art Media in Buenos Aires (Argentina)

More than a decade after their split in 2012, legendary Argentine band NATAS announces its long awaited return to the stage with a renewed lineup for a must-see performance on November 13th, at C Art Media in Buenos Aires (Argentina)

NATAS - Broide - Villagra - Bereciartúa

November 13th - C Art Media (Buenos Aires, Argentina) - Tickets available now at Passline

NATAS, one of the defining bands of Latin American stoner rock, returns with a renewed lineup that blends history, power, and sonic evolution.

The project is led by Walter Broide, original member and founder of the band, joined by Gonzalo Villagra, bassist and key songwriter from the group’s most prolific era. This new chapter also features Nico Bereciartúa on guitars and vocals (The Black Crowes / RIFF), bringing a fresh perspective while preserving the essence that defined NATAS’ signature sound.

This return not only marks a reunion with longtime fans and those who never had the opportunity to experience NATAS live, but also introduces a powerful new chapter through the addition of Nico Bereciartúa. As a member of RIFF, one of Argentina's most influential hard rock bands founded by legendary guitarist and singer PAPPO, Bereciartúa carries forward a musical lineage deeply embedded in the history of South American rock. Pappo is widely regarded as one of the most important figures in Latin American rock and blues, and Nico's connection to that legacy brings a unique dimension to NATAS' renewed sound.

This return not only marks a reunion with longtime fans and those who never had the opportunity to experience NATAS live, but also presents a new interpretation of the band's musical legacy. The show promises an intense journey through their catalog, alongside fresh live renditions of their classic material.

ABOUT NATAS

Throughout its career, NATAS forged a unique path within the independent stoner rock movement, creating a discography that became a benchmark for the international stoner and psychedelic rock scene. Albums such as Delmar, Ciudad de Brahman, and Toba Trance marked different creative eras of the band, establishing a distinctive sound characterized by heavy riffs, hypnotic atmospheres, and a strong instrumental identity.

Their growth extended far beyond Argentina. NATAS brought its music to stages across Europe and the United States, undertaking international tours that established them as one of South America's most respected underground bands. They performed at major festivals and shared bills with leading artists of the genre, expanding their audience and strengthening their connection with fans worldwide.

This international journey, combined with a constant artistic evolution, transformed NATAS into a cult band whose influence continues to resonate with new generations of musicians and listeners.

Walter Broide

Founder and creative driving force behind NATAS, widely considered the most influential stoner rock band in Latin America. A drummer, songwriter, and producer, Broide developed a powerful and expansive style that took NATAS on tours throughout Europe, the United States, and Latin America. Beyond NATAS, he has also been involved with Poseidótica and Audión, further exploring instrumental and psychedelic rock.

Gonzalo “El Crudo” Villagra

Bassist and a fundamental architect of the NATAS sound. An Argentine recording engineer and producer, Villagra has worked on numerous national and international albums, including projects by Hermética, Almafuerte, Boom Boom Kid, Poseidótica, and Minoría Activa, among many others. In addition to NATAS, he has performed with several bands within the rock and stoner scene, including Santoro and Carne Gaucha, building a versatile career as both musician and producer.

Nico Bereciartúa

Argentine guitarist with a distinguished international career in rock and blues. A member of RIFF, and currently guitarist for The Black Crowes, he has shared stages with world-renowned artists such as Ronnie Wood (The Rolling Stones), Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), and John Fogerty (Creedence Clearwater Revival). His style combines technical excellence, musical sensitivity, and raw power, establishing him as one of the most respected guitarists of his generation.

Discography

Delmar (1998)

Delmar marked a turning point in NATAS' evolution, expanding the band's heavy rock foundations into more atmospheric and psychedelic territory. The album quickly attracted attention beyond Argentina, helping establish connections with the emerging international stoner rock scene and introducing NATAS to audiences that would later support the band's extensive touring throughout Europe and the United States.

Ciudad de Brahman (1999)

Recorded in San Francisco and produced by Dale Crover of the Melvins, Ciudad de Brahman became one of the defining releases of Latin American stoner rock. Released through the legendary Man's Ruin Records, the album connected NATAS directly with the influential Californian underground scene that also included artists such as Kyuss, Fu Manchu, and the Melvins. The collaboration with Crover helped introduce the band to a global audience and established NATAS as an international presence within the genre.

Corsario Negro (2002)

Produced by acclaimed engineer and producer Billy Anderson, known for his work with Sleep, Neurosis, Melvins, High on Fire, and Mr. Bungle, Corsario Negro further strengthened NATAS' ties to the international heavy music community. Anderson's production emphasized the band’s expansive sound and experimental approach, resulting in one of the most ambitious records in their catalog and reinforcing their reputation among fans of underground heavy and psychedelic rock worldwide.

Toba Trance (2004)

Released through Finnish label Ektro Records, Toba Trance marked one of the boldest artistic departures in NATAS' career. Moving beyond the boundaries of stoner rock, the album embraced long-form improvisation inspired by German krautrock pioneers while incorporating indigenous rhythms, folk percussion, charango, and sonic elements drawn from Argentine cultural traditions. The project strengthened NATAS' connection with the European psychedelic underground, particularly through its relationship with Finland's experimental rock scene and later collaborations with Stefan Koglek of Germany's Colour Haze, one of the most influential bands in European psychedelic rock. These exchanges culminated in the München Sessions recordings and helped establish NATAS as a bridge between South American musical identity and the exploratory spirit of the international psychedelic movement.

El Hombre Montaña (2006)

With El Hombre Montaña, NATAS continued to push beyond genre conventions, delivering a record that blended heavy rock, psychedelia, and progressive experimentation. By this period the band had become a regular presence on international tours and festivals, sharing stages with many of the leading names in stoner and psychedelic rock. The album reflected the confidence of a band operating within a global underground network while maintaining a distinctly South American identity.

Nuevo Orden de la Libertad (2009)

Released after years of international touring and artistic development, Nuevo Orden de la Libertad showcased NATAS at its most mature and expansive. The album synthesized the lessons learned from collaborations with figures such as Dale Crover and Billy Anderson while embracing influences gathered through years of interaction with the European and North American psychedelic underground. The result was a record that transcended the boundaries of stoner rock and reaffirmed NATAS' position as one of the most innovative heavy rock bands to emerge from Latin America.

NEUROSIS Returns With First New Album In A Decade, An Undying Love For A Burning World, Out Now On Neurot Recordings

NEUROSIS Returns With First New Album In A Decade, An Undying Love For A Burning World, Out Now On Neurot Recordings; Aaron Turner Joins Lineup; Physical Pre-orders Available + Band To Play Fire In The Mountains

Physical Preorders For 2XLP, CD and Cassette Are At The Neurot Recordings Store HERE

NEUROSIS returns with their first new album in a decade, An Undying Love For A Burning World, which is now streaming on all digital platforms and available for physical preorder through the band’s Neurot Recordings. The album sees the band joined by Aaron Turner on guitar and vocals. NEUROSIS will also make their return to the stage at Fire In The Mountains Festival in July.

“We are torn wide open”

Evolution can be ugly and beautiful, painful and euphoric. An Undying Love For A Burning World is the first new release from NEUROSIS in a decade, and a potent statement of intent and rebirth – one that marks the first new steps of resolve and resilience.

“We need this, perhaps more than ever, and we suspect we are not alone. The trials and tribulations in our personal lives and as a band, combined with simply trying to navigate the insanity of our society, with the stress, anxiety, and isolation that come with it can be excruciating. Add to that the existential confusion and sorrow of the climate crisis and the sixth mass extinction. It is enough to cause you to completely lose your mind if you can’t find release or catharsis. This strange emotionally charged music has always been our method of trying to survive this and this is what we've always been singing about. When you have spent a lifetime engaged with these energies and utilizing this form of expression to purge and purify, it feels detrimental to our wellbeing to let it sit idle and neglected. This was now or never.”

“We’ve forgotten how to live, so we suffer”

An Undying Love For A Burning World is an epic album of colossal hypnotism - beautiful, fearsome and utterly compelling in a way that only NEUROSIS can be. Aaron Turner (Sumac, Isis) – a name whose legacy is intertwined with the band’s own and a true kindred spirit -- joins the band on vocals and guitar, alongside vocalist/guitarist Steve Von Till, bassist Dave Edwardson, keyboard player Noah Landis, and drummer Jason Roeder.

“He came straight out of the gate contributing, writing and presenting ideas,” the band states on Turner’s arrival. “His energy matches ours perfectly. It’s as if he was always meant to be there.” Turner adds, “From the moment I first heard NEUROSIS over 30 years ago, I felt this was the music my heart and mind had been seeking but not yet heard. Now after many years travelling along various musical paths of my own, the singular sound and spirit embodied by Neurosis continues to speak to the depths of my being. It is an honor and a true pleasure to have been welcomed so warmly into a band that not only shaped my perspective on the limitless possibilities of music - but has lived and exemplified the necessity of upholding creative integrity and camaraderie above all else.”

“We’ve forgotten how to struggle, so we suffer”

NEUROSIS has never been afraid of change, and here they embrace endless regeneration, surrendering to the emotional exorcism through heaviness and distortion that their music incites. Just as the universe tends towards balance, NEUROSIS’ cacophony of noise, rhythm, and dissonance always resolves towards moments of beauty. The addition of Turner's powerful vocals and wildly creative and unhinged approach to guitar proves to be a vital force as Neurosis find themselves again at the mercy of evolution and expression.

“We’ve forgotten we are wild, so we suffer”

On every song in the band’s history, NEUROSIS shifts restlessly between tension and relief, invoking a feeling both feral and transcendent in listeners. The band describe their songwriting process as an inescapable impulse to create with each other - a need rather than a choice. Indeed, the band insist that their return is, “not a reunion - we never broke up.”

An Undying Love For A Burning World was recorded by Scott Evans (Kowloon Walled City, Sumac, Great Falls) at Studio Litho in Seattle over three weekends this Winter and mixed in three days just six weeks before release at Evan's Antisleep Audio in Oakland.

“We exist in isolation, so we suffer”

An Undying Love For A Burning World Track Listing:

1. We Are Torn Wide Open
2. Mirror Deep
3. First Red Rays
4. Blind
5. Seething And Scattered
6. Untethered
7. In The Waiting Hours
8. Last Night

NEUROSIS will play their first show in seven years on the traditional lands of the Blackfeet Nation in Montana as part of Fire in the Mountains festival by special invitation of Firekeeper Alliance, a non-profit dedicated to reducing youth suicide in Indian Country. FITM, is a unique festival known for bringing epic music to epic landscapes with the intent of reconnecting and immersing oneself with the natural world, and strengthening our ancestral roots as human beings - an aim which aligns directly with NEUROSIS’ deep-rooted power.

“I cannot think of a more appropriate environment for us to return to the stage,” comments Steve Von Till who also serves on the board of Firekeeper Alliance. “Last year’s Fire In The Mountains festival was the most profound music event I have ever been a part of. The weekend took on a healing, cathartic ceremonial nature that is difficult to put into words. Using emotionally heavy music to build community and collectively stare darkness in the eye is something we have always believed in, but using it to directly address the heartbreaking reality of suicide, grief, loss and trauma is taking it to another level.”

“The dissonance is deafening.”

NEUROSIS’ An Undying Love For A Burning World is available now on all streaming platforms. The album will be issued on LP, CD,Cassette and Digital; physical preorder options can be found HERE.

APF Records is hosting a special one-off gig at The Bread Shed in Manchester UK on 3rd February, featuring all 14 of its current active signed bands playing across two stages.

The label already has releases lined up for 2018 by Desert Storm (new album “Sentinels” out 16th March), Pist, Nomad, Barbarian Hermit and Battalionsas well as further releases from the bands mentioned above.
