Groove/Doom/Stoner Metallers PATRIARCHS IN BLACK release new digital single and lyric video I'm Coming Home

PATRIARCHS IN BLACK release new digital single and lyric video I'm Coming Home.

Dan Lorenzo (Guitars) from the band said the following about the track:

"When Johnny Kelly and I handed in our 4th original album (HOME) to MetalVille Records we had to cut a few songs out of the 17 we handed in.

We chose to hold off on the track I'm Coming Home because we already had a bluesy track with Frankie Diaz on vocals.

The track which also features former Andrew Dice Clay bassist Sal Iuvara and Dave Seubert from Ten Ton Mojo on harmonica is out now EVERYWHERE digitally as well as a lyric video.

I wrote the song and played guitar and of course Johnny is on drums."

Finnish Doom Trio DÖ Unveil Lyric Video for "Ode to the Dark Matter" from Upcoming Album Unversum

Finland's riff-worshipping, cosmos-obsessed doom trio, DÖ, releases the lyric video for their latest track, Ode to the Dark Matter. This powerful new song is taken from their highly anticipated upcoming album Unversum, due out on September 18th, 2024, via Lay Bare Recordings in vinyl format and across various digital platforms.

For the past decade, DÖ has steadily gathered international recognition with their dark, astral-infused sound, which they refer to as "döömer." This distinctive Northern blend combines elements of stoner, doom, sludge, and psychedelia, with subtle nods to death and black metal, creating a unique sonic experience. Their growing discography includes four acclaimed EPs and two albums, all of which have been praised by the global heavy music press, including the prestigious Doom Charts.

DÖ has built a reputation for their loud, high-energy live performances, spearheaded by their infamous maniacal drummer. They have performed at notable festivals like Soulcrusher (Netherlands), Nummirock (Finland), and Desert Hel (Finland), and have shared stages with iconic acts such as Church of Misery.

The new track was created during the recording sessions for Unversum, as the band explains, "Ode to the Dark Matter was the last song we made for the album. It was actually born during the recording sessions, and it replaced another track that was originally planned for the album. The lyrics serve as both a tribute to the fascinating dark matter and to our friend who produced and recorded the album, whose nickname is Ode."

Minimalist Drone/Doom Rockers MOON WOMB Premiere New Song/Lyric Video For SIRENS From Upcoming New Album

Moon Womb is a heavy rock duo from Woodlawn, North Carolina incorporating elements of atmospheric rock, gothic folk, and dark jazz. The music conjures a lush sonic landscape characterized by distortion, slow tempos, and space. Brandy’s anchoring drums and bewitching vocals weave a web of enchantment while Richard’s distinctive baritone guitar invokes euphonious drones. Songs draw lyrical inspiration from fairytales, folklore, and esoterica while they explore themes of nature and magick.

Moon Womb will release their self-titled debut album on Firelight Records, an independent record label based out North Carolina, specializing in dark folk, psychedelia, and heavy rock and roll. Moon Womb is for fans of Earth, Low, Om, and Chelsea Wolfe.

We're excited to premiere thew new song and lyric video SIRENS from the upcoming new album.

The band state this about the song:

"When we are creating new songs, sometimes they can manifest rapidly in hours. Others evolve slowly over the course of days, weeks, or months.  Sirens was a composition that took a long time to find its final form. Our crafting typically consists of time together playing through ideas, and then there is also time apart for both of us to make our individual contributions acuminate. The basic structure of the music for Sirens synthesized quite rapidly. However, the vocals were in constant flux in terms of musical and lyrical direction, but we know that was necessary to get to the end result. Our final narrative took influence from many varied mythologies including the Sirens of Homer, the Mermayde of Chaucer, and the Cthulhu mythos of Lovecraft."-Moon Womb

Thanks to Desert Bloom PR for all of the info.

Moon Womb self-titled album will be available to buy on DD/Vinyl via Firelight Records from Wednesday 26th June 2024.

Sludge/Stoner Metallers TROY THE BAND Release Visualiser/Lyric Video for FLESH WOUND From Upcoming New Album CATACLYSM

Cataclysm, the debut full-length album from London-based Doom-gaze four-piece Troy The Band, will be released on Sweden's Bonebag Records on February 2nd 2024. Since the release of their debut EP, The Blissful Unknown, Troy The Band have become mainstays in the London heavy music scene, with a list of accolades in 2023 that includes appearances at Desertfest London, Masters of the Riff, and Stoomfest, as well as a craft beer collaboration with East London's Old Street Brewery.

With Cataclysm the band have taken the most unique elements of their debut EP and forged them into an album that blends elements of Stoner-Doom, Post Rock, Shoegaze and Heavy Psych. Cataclysm is dark, heavy, and identifiably their own.

For this album the band went back to work with Wayne Adams at Bear Bites Horse studio in East London. From the band's point of view, this was a no-brainer: "We knew we wanted to work with Wayne again on this album. He's great to work with and he had an important hand in shaping the sound of our EP. We knew he would get what we were trying to do with this album, and we really couldn't be happier with how it has turned out."

Each track is built from a sturdy foundation of Sean Durbin's bass riffs which are then overlaid with Sean Burn's distinctive guitar playing and Craig Newman's unique and ethereal vocal style, adding layers of harmonic complexity and tension that is a defining feature of their sound.

The album title is derived from the name the band gave the initial demo of the title track, driven by its musically jarring feel rather than its lyrical content. It was then self-consciously adopted as the album title to reflect their aim of causing a musical upheaval in the heavy music scene. We believe it will.

We are quite excited to premiere the new visualiser/lyric video for FLESH WOUND which is also my favourite track from the upcoming album Cataclysm due out on February 2nd 2024.

The band say the following about the song:

"This is the first song we wrote together after recording our EP and it has been a staple of our live set since our earliest shows.

The first time we played Flesh Wound live it was the second to last song in our set. So when we announced that the next song would be our last and someone in the crowd yelled out “just play more of that riff again!” We knew we were on to a winner.

We love it because it captures our sound so well, from the dynamics of vocals and instrumentation to the tension and release in the arrangement. When the song reaches its climax, there is a feeling of catharsis both lyrically and musically."

Cataclysm will be available to buy from Bonebag Records from February 2nd 2024.
