Mystic rock band from Ukraine, releases the music video for the track "Entering the City of Light". It was shot in 4 countries, 7 temples, and took 11 filming days. "I’ve always had the feeling that something is fundamentally wrong with the world humans have created. I had a vision of a better place, and I kept searching for it. I could feel glimpses of it in Jacque Fresco's ideas, in the ashrams of Sri Aurobindo and Sadguru, in the sincerity of morning rituals in Varanasi, in the spirit of freedom in the air of Singapore, and in how they masterfully blend technology with nature. It was inspiring, but still, it was bits and pieces, and I couldn't find the exact place. I have come to terms with the fact that it simply doesn't exist on this planet. "Entering the City of Light" is a very sincere sentiment and an attempt to recreate a feeling of this place. Where wars and tyrants are in history books, and the progress of spirit and technology happens simultaneously. Welcome to the City of Light," comments Val Kornev. The new single complements last year's video for "Eternal Home" and is the second release of the band as a duo.

Psych/Mystic/Doom Rockers Ethereal Riffian Drops New Mesmerizing Music Video For ETERNAL HOME

Mystic rock band from Kyiv, Ethereal Riffian, which seemed to be on hold since November 2019, drops a new mesmerizing music video called "Eternal Home". The band worked on this meditative composition as a two-piece.

"In a world disrupted by wars, keeping the light kindled is crucial. This music video intends to give a small island of peace to people wherever they are and whatever their life conditions are at the moment. 

On the 8th of June, a Russian terrorist state bombed one of the largest children's hospitals in Europe and a residential building. The same day one part of the residential building in Kyiv was destroyed completely. Brother of our sound engineer lived in this building with his family. Luckily, none of the family members were at home, but this inhumane atrocity took the lives of their cat and dog, and also their home. 

All funds gathered from this campaign will go to help our sound engineer's brother's family and their neighbors.” comments Val Kornev.

RobustFellow Prods To Release SHIVA THE DESTRUCTOR New Album - FIND THE OTHERS

Progressive heavy psych group Shiva the Destructor plays sprawling, spiraling rock music that is superbly crafted for maximum atmospheric flow. Hailing from Kyiv, Ukraine, the formidable four-piece is a band of true compositional ambition. Shiva the Destructor will release the new full-length LP, 'Find the Others', on March 26 via Robustfellow Productions.

Formed in 2012, Shiva the Destructor and its members are inspired by layers of rock culture from the past decades. Incorporating touch points from genre classics to deliver its own personal take on the quintessence of psychedelic rock via eclectic composition, the band's sound includes extended instrumental pieces, incredible vocal harmonies and experiments with the electric organ, as well as brass and oriental instruments. What really sets Shiva the Destructor apart is its unique sonic armament which features guitars with distinctly different tunings (one detuned and one uptuned), which creates both gorgeous sound bath and elegantly piled waves of sound.

The first taste of what Shiva the Destructor's 'Find the Others' holds in store is the LP's lead single, "Nirvana Beach", which is available for streaming at this location.

Work on the new LP, 'Find the Others', lasted for more than three years. Compositionally, 'Find the Others' is a remarkably fluid album—movement to movement and song to song, the LP flows almost as one continuous piece. Featuring five multi-suite, mini-epics -- many of them hovering around the 10-minute mark -- Shiva the Destructor has created a 45-minute space odyssey that’s meant to be listened to as a unified whole. Conceptually, the album follows the adventures of the titular title character, "Shiva", as he traverses the planet on a journey through the history of progressive psych music.

"Each song on the album tells a separate story of our title character Shiva, who according to our interpretation is far from being omnipotent but lives an almost mortal life," says band's singer/guitarist Andrii Pryimak.

Over the course of the album's songs, Shiva travels around and through worlds, space and time. Finally, he arrives on Earth in the 1960's and proceeds to wear worn-out jeans and rock out at Woodstock. He then chills on the beach to the sounds of surf rock, falls in love, roams the untouched forests, lapses into self-reflexive battles and comes to terms with himself at the outskirts of the universe. Shiva has fun, suffers, seeks and changes — like we all do. On top of all that, the album contains several references and homages to legendary musicians and performers; lyrical and audio Easter Eggs just waiting to be discovered by the listener.

GREENMACHiNE have described their sound as 'Hardcore Rock', essence of heavy rock/metal/doom/sludge/punk rock and whatever the riff music. Those 12 songs have very wide ranged direction, this is exactly what GREENMACHiNE are at their strongest.

Biography

GREENMACHiNE was formed and based in 1995 in north-west of Japan, Kanazawa city. In 1996 they released their debut album, D.A.M.N., followed with The Earth Beater two years later.

The band disbanded and resurrected for several times during past decade. After the 2013 reunion show, the band gathered again with MONZAWA on guitar/vocal,YOSHIKAWA on bass and DATSU on drums. The band recruited a new member, Max, on guitar in 2014 and with that smashing line-up the band released "For the Night and Blood" EP in 2016 and "Mountains of Madness" LP in 2019.

Self-titled album was released in 2020 to celebrate 25th Anniversary of band’s formation. Robustfellow is honored to provide International Edition of this massive release in 2021.

Robustfellow Prods Release PYRAWEED New Album 420 on CD and Cassette Tape

 

Robustfellow Prods have recently released the CD and Cassette Tape Versions of Doom/Stoner Metallers PYRAWEED thrilling new album 420 which was originally released on 20th April 2020. 

I missed reviewing this WEEDIAN based bad-boy and it's what you would want and expect from an album influenced by the whole WEEDIAN Doom/Stoner Metal scene. Loads Of Riffs, Distorted Grooves all powered by the mighty WEED. 

PYRAWEED have been doing their thing since 2015 and has seen the band release an impressive discography with 5 full length albums and 2 live albums within that period. It's seen the band gather a dedicated loyal following within the Doom/Sludge/Stoner Metal community and it's not hard to see why.

420 is their most impressive release to date with a diverse range of ideas blazing throughout the entire album with songs such as Acid Flood, Tuesdead and Illegal Song being the main highlights of the album.

PYRAWEED worship at the Riff Altar of BLACK SABBATH and SLEEP. 

So it's good to see Robustfellow Prods releasing a different variety of physical products from the album such as CD's and Cassette Tapes from their BandCamp Page

ROBUSTFELLOW PRODS Release New BOMG Album - Peregrination

Peregrination includes 4 near 40-minute tracks in which instrumental parts were live recorded simultaneously in full length of each track, with added instruments, effects and field recordings afterward. Each track represents one thought unit and contextually associates with a 1\4 of the album cover in z-pattern from top left to bottom right. Vintage instruments, high-power amplification and sound systems, subsonic frequencies, effect saturation, odd timing, soundscape and psychedelia influenced this, besides other things.

Bomg is a doom band originating from Monastyryshche, Ukraine. Musically it persists on a heavy sonic basis and ranges in different vibes.

The band was formed in 2010, sharing the interest of proto-doom, stoner and psychedelic\space rock, sci\fi, post-apocalyptic aesthetic and little known local history. The name was picked after terminology that described vagabond people in the late USSR, and it reflected the overall aesthetic vibe. Later that year Bomg released the first demo.

In 2011 the band started working on the first LP “Polynseeds”, several singles and released “Etaph” as one of them. Bomg recorded “Polynseeds”, “Plutonaut” and “Old Satellite Jam” in 2012 and moved to Kyiv to open Evergreen studio. “Polynseeds” was released in 2013. In 2014 the band started working on the second album while releasing split with Khola Cosmica, “Old Satellite Jam” and a single for Electric Funeral compilation. During 2017-2018 Bomg recorded 4LP “Peregrination” at Evergreen studio and released it in 2020.

Review

Legends is the new album from Ethereal Riffian and it’s perhaps their most confident and most accessible offering to date. However the album does has it’s fair share of controversial moments especially with the socially aware and politically fused lyrics. The music is the main focal point for Legends and the album is a mixture of Grunge, Doom, Sludge, Psych, Stoner Metal and Progressive Metal sounds holding everything together.

Opening song – Sage’s Alchemy – is a swirling Post-Doom offering with the Progressive and Psychedelic sounds leading the way. The song is quite flashy in places but it shows that the band have a darker and more daring sound coming your way.

Second song – Born Again starts with a confident and heavy rhythm with the vocals coming right at you. The music has a slight Alternative Rock/Metal approach that I didn’t expect. The band move quickly to add Spacier elements to their music which they’ve done on previous releases.

Third song – Dreamgazer – adds a Heavy Metal feel to the overall flow of the album but settles down into a more cautious Psych Doom/Stoner based groove. Ethereal Riffian remind me of Soundgarden and Alice In Chains on this song and it’s quite an exciting sound with the band being quite emotional on this song.

Up next is the title track – Legends – and its’ one of the albums most aggressive songs on the album with the music and lyrics portraying a bleak picture when matched against the hard rocking sounds that show you can do something different with the standard rules of Doom/Stoner Metal.

Ethereal Riffian move into overdrive with the second half of the album. As the band become more daring with everything on this album. The music become heavier and more progressive especially on songs such as KOSMIC, MOONFLOWER and ETHEREAL PATH. The band show a real creative flair on this album and it will instantly draw you in until the very end.

The album does run out of steam near the end but it’s the overall journey that Ethereal Riffian take you upon that’s the real highlight. The album is helped along by explosive production values that will keep the listener on their toes and guessing which direction the album will take you next.

Overall, Legend is a complex and challenging album but one that is packed with expertly played riffs and fantastic vocals to match. This may not be the most straight forward album to listen to but that hasn’t stopped Ethereal Riffian from releasing their best album to date.

Excellent and Highly Recommended.
