Review:

Big Business storm back with their formidable new album Command Your Weather and what a return it is, the nine tracks on here are testament to the fact that the band are one of the most vibrant as well as heavy bands around and a new Big Business album is an event that always to be savoured.

Since the bands inception their main goal is to be as loud and heavy as they possibly could be and with this album they have certainly achieved that in an impressive fashion but there is the right amount of catchiness too, this is definitely a collection of memorable as well as heavy songs.

As soon as first track Last Legs announces the return of Big Business, you know you are in for a treat and the sledgehammer like sheet of riffs and power that greets you on the following track, the stunning Regulars is even better and Command Your Weather sustains this quality throughout its duration with songs such as the pile-driving Fathers Day and the caustic Own Throats showcasing what makes Big Business such an exciting musical force and the other tracks on the album such as Diagnostic Front and Send Help are just as vital.

The vocals of Jared Warren sound even more commanding than on the bands last album Battlefields Forever and are a powerful force throughout with his roar enough to wake the dead and the rhythmic ensemble of Warren on bass colliding with drumming ally Coady Willis steam-rolls with heaviness on every song on the album.

In addition to the crushing heaviness that prevails through the album, there is that defiant sense of melody and aforementioned catchiness in each song that elevates the feel of each of them and on tracks such as Popular Demand and the closing Horses, there is more of an epic feel to them with the latter in particular a stirring anthem and the perfect way to finish things off.

The album powers through with an inspiring array of energy and definitely cries out for repeated listens.
Big Business have always done things in their own terms and this album is a continuing aspect of that fact and as long as they are making albums as good as Command Your Weather then they will continue to do so. A brilliant addition to an already impressive back catalogue of work.
