Review:

Ninehorn take you back to a simpler time when the music and lyrics mattered as much as each other. Ninehorn's sound is influenced by early era QOTSA. Hell even the lead vocals sounds like a younger and more interested Josh Homme. I mean that as a huge compliment as Josh Homme was one of my favourite vocalists back in the day.

Ninehorn add a more Alternative Rock approach to their blend of Fuzz/Stoner Rock. Ninehorn have elements of Groove and Desert Rock to give their debut EP an extra vibrant feel. The EP flows naturally from beginning to end and will go down a storm with the QOTSA crowd.

Songs such as Weightless Fun, Gimme Gimme and Heart + Brain are played superbly well as the band entertain from you start to finish. The psychedelic vibes from Gimme Gimme add a trippy spaced out edge that show you there's more to Ninehorn's music than basic Stoner/Desert riffs.

Ninehorn's debut EP is a release that I can listen to all-day as it contains a huge sense of fun and doesn't take itself too seriously. The band show a keen eye for melody and have written superb lyrics to match. Heart + Brain is the perfect example of this. As Ninehorn blend beautifully played quiet riffs against the heavier and more aggressive Stoner Metal sounds.

Take a chance on Ninehorn's debut EP and you will pleasantly be surprised. These guys could be on the verge of something special indeed. I hope the full length album is being released soon as that's where Ninehorn will have the potential to surprise a lot of folks.

Excellent and Highly Recommended.
