Review

Punk/Noise/Sludge Rock crew Iron LInings new EP PRessure Valve is what you expect it to be. A snarling and aggressive sound with a street level attitude. The guys promote themselves as a Punk/Noise Rock but there is a sludgy undercurrent to their overall sound. The songs on the EP last a few minutes each with the band writing spiky lyrics to match.

The music is quite refreshing even with the aggressive and violent grooves contained within the music. I adored the musical breakdowns in second song On Pluto with its flashy sense of Punk Rock adventure and even Psychedelic flair that appears.

Lead vocalist Nate has a cool Punk/Noise Rock presence and becomes even better when the EP moves over to heavier Sludge Rock and Post-Hardcore grooves.

Iron Linings show a lot of potential and promise here. Sure I would have liked a couple more songs but for an introduction to the band, this EP is an exciting and fast-paced musical adventure that sets the bar high for these guys to follow for their next release.

Excellent and Highly Recommended.
