Instrumental Heavy Psych / Stoner / Metal / Progressive (with stoner doom and other influences thrown in too!)
Can you give a brief history of the band of how it came together and where it is today?
Icarus Burns (IB) was formed in Berlin, Germany in 2020 - initially as a female fronted 5-piece heavy psych/stoner band and we released 3 singles in 2021, gigging heavily over the next few years .
2024 saw a line-up change and a pivot to become an instrumental band; guitars were tuned lower and each instrument found its voice. IB hit the studio in the fall of ‘24 and are just about to release their debut album (S/T) in February.
What can people expect from your music?
IB’s fusion of styles and influences create sonically dynamic soundscapes that are unique to the band’s style, but also familiar for fans of: Rotor, Kask, Elder, Monkey3, Rezn, Thrice, Kosmodome, My Sleeping Karma, Robot God.
