Review

FIRÇA is the debut single from Turkish Psych/Stoner Rockers KOVA and it’s a deliciously heavy and fuzzy adventure with epic SONIC passages leading the way. The band is made up of four friends from Istanbul and Ankara who have featured in great bands such as GODBUD, Strider, Destroy Earth, BABA SAD, Humbaba and Men’s Rea.

FIRÇA does have a delicious and heavily improvised atmosphere with moments of Doom, Sludge and Desert Rock groups that help make this quite an epic track with flashes of seedy DIY production values that come alive firmly within the long drawn out instrumental passages.

The later stages of FIRÇA sees KOVA employ  a distorted range of AMPLIFIER DISTORTION and FREAKISHLY LOUD guitars with sludgy surroundings that have quite a dramatic effect when the COSMIC and PSYCHEDELIC melodies fully start to form.

A single track can be quite hard to define what a band will deliver for future releases but I have a feeling with FIRÇA that KOVA have what it takes to release a spectacularly heavy, soulful and mind-expanding record that sounds quite grounded despite the fantastical SPACED OUT themes that reside in this track alone.

Check out FIRÇA now as KOVA have delivered some of the finest heavy psychedelic grooves you’ll hear in quite some time especially for their debut single.
