Review

Deconstruction is the debut EP from French Sludge/Stoner Rockers HEALER who bring a pissed off Punk Rock and Garage Rock energy to their music. The band does sound like TORCHE at times and it’s perhaps no coincidence that Jonanthan Nunez from TORCHE has mastered this EP. HEALER goes straight for the riff with a dominant MASTODON and VAN HALEN flair appearing within some of the excellent guitar solos that appear within the stunning and pissed off opening track In Action.

HEALER packs a lot of different styles of music into their songs with a frantic and fast paced energy. HEALER doesn't go for the DOOM-POP sound bands like FLOOR and TORCHE were known for. They focus on the heavier and primal style of Sludge Rock/Metal with aggressive vocals to match. The rhythm section of HEALER works overtime by delivering a demented and fine style of sludgy sounds for the guitars to put melody into the atmosphere on tracks such as Ultimate Vacation and Light On Path.

Deconstruction is quite an action-packed record from HEALER and despite the short running time, there’s a lot of intense heavy grooves that can be quite violent but ultimately melodic at the same time. Check these guys out. You’ll be surprised by what you hear.

Great stuff…
