Review

Trippy Wicked & The Cosmic Children Of The Knight make a welcome return after a some time away from the spotlight and the band have released this rough and ready cool EP – Three Leaves. If you haven’t heard of the band before then this is the best place to start. As this EP offers two songs totalling around 13 minutes of Progressive Doomed Out Stoner Metal with a Blues Rock vibe aiding things along.

It’s not the best sounding EP but it shows that Trippy Wicked have lost none of their magic with heavy psychedelic FUZZED OUT sounds on the opening song Three Leaves.

Though it’s the second song – Green Memories – embraces the WEEDIAN Stoner Metal Groove with style and heavy substance with Trippy Wicked playing LOW & SLOW from start to finish. The raw atmosphere is quite intense in places with Pete’s vocals having a slight gloomy vibe to them. The EP does see Trippy Wicked offer a more classic style of 70s Prog Rock on this song and it’s an interesting sound that never outstays it’s welcome.

If you’re a fan of CLUTCH and BLACK SABBATH but with a heavier distorted Stoner Groove then Trippy Wicked are definitely worth your time. Especially if you have about 12 years of material to catch up with.

A new album is being planned for the future and on this form it’s good to have Trippy Wicked & The Cosmic Children Of The Knight back.
