Swedish Sludge Metal Trio FIREBREATHER to release new album "Blood That I Spill Turns To Fire" on Heavy Psych Sounds, first track streaming!

Swedish sludge metallers FIREBREATHER have signed to Heavy Psych Sounds Records for the October 16th release of their new full-length "Blood That I Spill Turns to Fire", and premiere the title track via Doomed & Stoned today!

Check out new track Blood That I Spill Turns To Fire

Firebreather formed in Gothenburg in 2016, rooted in crushing, sludge-doused doom from the very beginning. Never wavering from that commitment across all three of their incendiary full-length releases, the trio has pursued weight with purpose, not as spectacle, nor as an exercise in excess, but as the only language broad enough to hold the emotional reach and sonic heft of their sound.

The music arrives in a way that writes itself with no distance between the words and the sound; they rise from the same cursed ground, and that honesty has become the band's defining force.
Firebreather is a band that never postures or asks to be admired for their heaviness- and to see them live is to experience exactly why. Their weight takes on another life entirely. The band’s towering tone and consuming grit don't fill a room so much as alter it. Volume presses against the body before the first lyric lands and riffs arrive like shifting earth. The drums don't drive the songs forward; they anchor them while the line between sound and physical force begins to disappear.

Years spent crossing Europe and North America have only sharpened that purpose, and a decade on with a fourth album on the way via the notorious Heavy Psych Sounds Records, Firebreather remains exactly where it belongs. Head down. Volume up.

Sludge/Stoner Metallers 10,000 YEARS Release New Song PARANOIDIUM From Upcoming New Album

Sludge/Stoner Metallers 10,000 Years release the excellent third single PARANOIDIUM from their epic forthcoming new album EXOS LCIFER that is due out August 07th 2026 via Ripple Music.

10,000 Years say this about the song:

"In celebration of our appearance today at Krökbacken Festival, Swedens Mekka of heavy, we are super stoked to drop a little surprise for y’all: a third single from our upcoming new album ”Esox Lucifer”!

The song is called ”Paranoidium” and it’s the penultimate track on the new album. It’s heavy on riffs, melody and weirdness, just how we like it.

We hope that you enjoy ”Paranoidium” too and that you keep an eye out for ”Esox Lucifer” on August 7th!

The Lowdown

10,000 Years are set to return with their long-awaited new album, once again pummeling the world into oblivion! Delving deep into existential dread and dark lore, Esox Lucifer drifts through deep space with the same sci-fi, horror, and fantasy obsessions that have always fueled the band. Esox Lucifer delivers the riff-centric, melodic stoner metal that 10,000 Years has become known for, all driven by Erik Palm’s guitar wizardry and searing solos, the thunderous anchor of Alvin Risberg’s drums, and Alex Risberg’s fuzzed-out bass and fire-driven howls. The result is the band’s most ambitious work to date — one that will easily win over fans of Torche, High On Fire, The Sword and Kylesa!

10,000 YEARS "Esox Lucifer" - Out August 7th on Ripple Music (LP/CD/digital)

Formed in the plague year of 2020, 10,000 Years has wasted no time forging their signature brand of skull-crushing stoner metal. Across three records in as many years — including II, which earned them a nomination for Best Metal at the Swedish Independent Grammys (Manifest) — the band has proven relentless.

Their 2024 release, All Quiet On The Final Frontier, saw the Riff still reigning supreme, but with a newly melodic edge described as "an experience that’s as heavy as it is spiritual" by The Sleeping Shaman and "the psychedelic-stoner embodiment of science fiction" by Ghost Cult Magazine. The album marked their debut on Californian label Ripple Music, introduced powerhouse drummer Alvin Risberg on wax, and locked into perfect symmetry with Erik Palm's guitar wizardry and Alex Risberg's thundering bass and howling vocals. A massive leap forward into new and hugely exciting territory, which will be sealed with their upcoming album Esox Lucifer, coming in the summer of 2026.

Review

Stay Dead is the latest supergroup to emerge from the Heavy Underground scene who are made up of members from High Desert Queen, Hollow Light and Fear The Victor, However, that only tells half the story with guest appearances from legends such as Matt Pike and Troy Sanders. You also have appearances from Eryka Fir (Coma Hole) and AIWASS along for the ride. Stay Dead’s debut album Beneath The Weight Of Worlds is quite a complex, brooding, philosophical and emotionally charged statement of the human condition.

The record blends levels of Doom, Sludge, Stoner Metal, Prog Metal and Psychedelic elements with some detours into areas of Post-Rock, Thrash, Space Rock and Groove. This is a very multi-layered record from the very start with influences ranging from Mastodon, High On Fire, ELDER and NEUROSIS with also the band’s members ever present musical projects. Lead vocalist Ryan Garney seems to be everywhere these days and that’s a good thing where he can shine a light to his incredible vocals once more.

Ryan leaves the musical heavy lifting to his colleagues and famous friends where they all brilliantly succeed in laying down pummelling grooves that will give your body a tough physical challenge whilst rewarding your mental wellbeing when everything is said and done. The whole record relies on hard-hitting lyrics and intense vocals which come alive through tracks such as Empty Pages, White Noises, Electric Mistress and Chrysalis.

Beneath The Weight Of Worlds does have a grimy and sludgy exterior where the Post-Doom and Post-Stoner thematics work amazingly well with the intense gloomy melodic moments. The most hard-hitting track has to be the excellent second track White Noise which really does touch upon some tough themes which gives Stay Dead a more vindictive appearance than you initially realise until you hear the actual song which leaves you on a more hopeful message.

The flashes of Post-Whatever and Psychedelic melodies is a great way for Stay Dead to introduce a natural way of creative storytelling with the guest appearances of their friends to find common ground to play great music with. The majority of the album is emotionally wrought with complex grooves allowing Stay Dead to align themselves more closely to the likes of Pallbearer and YOB but with a distinctive Hard Rock quality keeping everything grounded.

However, I will say my favourite aspect or track of the album is Stay Dead’s insane and gloriously entertaining cover of the classic track Fever Dog. Fever Dog is from the classic movie Almost Famous. A classic movie directed by Cameron Crowe which was inspired by his early days in the Seventies working for Rolling Stone Magazine and being shown the seedier side of the Heavy Rock scene from the legendary bands of the day. If you haven’t seen the movie then I implore you to watch it now. Watch both versions, the theatrical cut and the even better director’s cut.

Within that movie, there’s a fictional band called Stillwater whose “famous” track “Fever Dog” is played throughout the movie. That song was written by Nancy Wilson of the band Heart and film director Cameron Crowe. This track is pure Seventies HARD ROCK excess but Stay Dead give this a slamming modern day Sludge Rock/Stoner Rock makeover which stays true to the original. (Apologies for the slight historical lesson there. Almost Famous is one of my all-time favourite movies).

Beneath The Weight Of Worlds is how a “supergroup” should deliver their debut album with its fearless attitude and non-stop supply of impactful grooves from start to finish. The legendary record label Ripple Music is releasing this album so you know this is going to sound great. As Ripple Music never put out a bad record within their entire lifetime.

As we say sometimes in the United Kingdom, Beneath The Weight Of Worlds is the “MUTTS NUTS” or “DOGS BOLLOCKS”  which means outstanding, top-quality, or one of the absolute best things out there. Well, you get the picture!!!

Doom/Stoner Metallers WITCHTHROAT SERPENT Announce New Album DEMONS LEFT TO ROAM And Premiere New Song/Video For CURSED NIGHT CIRCLE

Doom/Stoner Metallers Witchthroat Serpent return their new album DEMONS LEFT TO ROAM due out on October 09th 2026 via Heavy Psych Sounds.

About The Album

Recorded at the legendary Kerwax Studio by Christophe Chavanon on analog tape and gear, Witchthroat Serpent's new album “DEMONS LEFT TO ROAM” is yet another hymn to the last century’s sordid dreams and fears, moral panic and the creepy costumes from Halloween in the 30’s. Huge and gritty walls of guitars, rumbling stereo bass and plundering ritual drums. Songs of horror tales and satanic litanies, carried by haunted vocals.

Thanks to the amazing folks over at Purple Sage PR and Heavy Psych Sounds we're excited to premiere the epic new song CURSED NIGHT CIRCLE from their upcoming new album.

About the band

Witchthroat Serpent was formed in November 2011 in Toulouse, France to spread occult and powerful doom stoner across the living world's borders. The band has toured extensively in Europe, playing both underground shows and major scene festivals such as Hotsabbat and Sonic Blast. After their second critically acclaimed LP “Sang-Dragon” Fredrik Bolzann & Niko Lass have been joined in their act by Ügo Greifengeier & Djé Cndrs for a split with cult fellows Dead Witches published by Heavy Psych Sounds Records and followed by the third LP “Trove of Oddities at the Devil’s Driveway”. Now a maniac 4-piece band wholly dedicated to the dark arts and the everlasting quest for The Tone, they are set to release their new album on HPS Records this fall.

UK Occult Doom Trio GOAT MAJOR to release new album "Death Comes Twice" on Ripple Music this fall; stream new video "Wheels of Gold"

Welsh doom metal trio GOAT MAJOR is set to return with their sophomore full-length "Death Comes Twice" this October 23rd on Ripple Music and unleash their new single "Wheels of Gold" today!

Watch new Goat Major video Wheels of Gold + listen to the song on all streaming services

Welsh heavy trio Goat Major are set to return with their crushing sophomore album, Death Comes Twice, the follow-up to their 2024 debut Ritual. The songwriting process ignited immediately after the last record, with guitarist Jammie Arnold channeling a relentless flow of riff demos that provided the foundation for Simon Bonwick (drums) and Tom Shortt (vocals/bass) to build upon. They comment, "When the three of us gathered in the jam room, that’s where the true magic happened. We threw ourselves into every riff, every groove, with no detail too small or too grand. This new record reveals a deeper, more melodic side of us, all the while remaining heavy and intense. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it!"

Recording once again with engineer Tom Chaloner in rural Pembrokeshire, the band captured the raw energy of their live chemistry by tracking together in a room without click tracks. The result is a record that delves deeper into melody while maintaining their signature heaviness, augmented by experimental layers of percussion, harmonies, and progressive synthesis soundscapes.

Lyrically, Death Comes Twice navigates the dark narrow passageways of belief, tradition, and existential crisis. Continuing the occult and cosmic themes of their debut, the album shifts between dark fantasy and internal turmoil, exploring themes of persecution under dogmatic rule, the spiritual toll of ancient rituals, and the clash between divine creation and modern technology.

About the new single "Wheels of Gold", the band says: "Wheels of Gold brings imagery of the biblical depictions of angels. Imagining them into our new technological age and asking if they would still serve their elemental ancient god, or revolt and destroy that god in order to serve new artificial machines of creation."

New album "Death Comes Twice" - Out October 23rd on Ripple Music (LP/CD/digital)

Emerging from the mystic landscapes of Pembrokeshire, Wales, Goat Major formed in 2020 as a strict DIY power trio. Drawing from the heaviness of Electric Wizard and the raw fury of Motörhead, their sound is a fuzz-drenched, controlled chaos that's both primal and profound. They shattered expectations with their 2024 debut Ritual via Ripple Music, a gothic romp through ancient secrets and dark whispers. Arnold's riffs swing between sludgy weight and punk urgency, Bonwick's drumming is relentless and dynamic, while Shortt's growling bass underpins hauntingly melodic vocals that push atmosphere and ambition without losing their doom-ridden core.

The band tore across the UK, sharing stages with Conan, Thunder Horse and many more, while leaving their doomy mark at Desertfest London and Stoomfest. Their blend of infectious melody and sinister atmosphere struck a deep chord, cementing them as one of the underground's most promising emerging forces. Now in 2026, they reunite with Ripple Music for their eagerly awaited second opus, Death Comes Twice. Digging deeper than Ritual, the new album weaves potent melodies and razor-sharp hooks through themes of death, medieval rituals, religious persecution, and generational hexes. It's a masterclass in inventive darkness—haunting, powerful, and daring you to climb in.

Italian Stoner Psych Trio HUMULUS to issue new album “Smuggler’s Cave” on Ripple Music this fall; first track streaming now!

Ripple Music welcomes Italian psychedelic stoner rockers HUMULUS to their roster for the release of their new album "Smuggler's Cave" this October 9th!

Stream new Humulus single "Rise and Fall" at this location

Smuggler’s Cave marks HUMULUS’ fifth LP and their second outing with vocalist/guitarist Thomas Mascheroni. Following 2023's Flowers Of Death, the band spent two years traversing Europe’s stages, and it was in the cracks between tours that the improvisations for this record took root. True to form, the band returned to the rehearsal room for marathon sessions, capturing hours of raw interplay, isolating the sparks and forging new songs from the embers.

On this album, those riffs hit harder and land with greater certainty than before, yet HUMULUS’s sonic hallmark remains intact: a deft pivot from rhythmic, classic stoner crunch into more psychedelic and introspective depths. As always, lyrics arrived after the music, with the title track served as a thread for the rest of the record, leading the listener through mysterious settings, tales of wizards, cemetery dreams, damned souls and the shade of dark forests. A record that's heavy, haunted and more than ever unapologetically HUMULUS.

It will be released on October 9th on LP, CD and digital, with preorders available now from Ripple Music.

New album "Smuggler's Cave" - Out October 9th on Ripple Music (LP/CD/digital)

Humulus is an Italian psych-stoner power trio formed in Brescia, Italy in 2009. Born from the heavy lineage of Kyuss, Karma to Burn and Orange Goblin, they quickly built a reputation across southern Europe with their crushing debut on Go Down Records.

A lineup shift in 2015 flipped the script. New frontman Andrea Bellicini pushed the band into trippier, more dynamic territory through longer songs, richer atmospheres and a sound that outgrew stoner orthodoxy. The years that followed saw Humulus touring non-stop with European festival runs (Freak Valley, Desertfest Belgium, Up In Smoke), and a string of acclaimed LPs that veered from doom-laced riffage to sprawling psychedelic meditation. Another mutation came in late 2022 with the arrival of Thomas Mascheroni, reigniting the band’s chemistry and leading to a fresh creative burst. They hit the road again, sharing stages with heavyweights like Colour Haze and Monkey3, while steadily forging new material.

When founder Giorgio Bonacorsi stepped back in 2026, the remaining core members enlisted Fabio Giacomini to complete the lineup and write their most ambitious work yet, to be released in the fall 2026 on Ripple Music.

US Doom Metal Giants THE OBSESSED sign to Heavy Psych Sounds!

American doom metal icons THE OBSESSED have inked a worldwide deal with Heavy Psych Sounds Records for the release of their new studio album in 2027.

The Obsessed is a rock band. A fucking HARD rock band. Since their formation in 1978, they have become known around the world for their influential contribution to the origins and continued legacy of the doom metal and underground hard rock genres. The distinctive vocals and guitar wizardry of founder and driving force Scott “Wino” Weinrich has left a mark on the world of heavy music that continues to inspire.

The Obsessed gained momentum in the Baltimore/DC area of the USA in the early to mid 1980’s during the height of the hardcore punk movement. Often cited as the band that bridged heavy metal and punk together, the band gained the respect of punk heavyweight contemporaries Black Flag, The Bad Brains, and Minor Threat, to name a few. The attitude and spirit of The Obsessed have led many to regard them as “America’s Motorhead”.

Wino went on to join the doom metal giants Saint Vitus as lead singer on seminal albums including 1986’s Born Too Late. In 1990, The Obsessed came back with their eponymous debut album, The Obsessed. This album was quickly followed by 1991’s Lunar Womb and 1994’s The Church Within. All three of these albums shaped and paved the way for future heavy rock bands and the doom scene as it’s known today. Wino’s gift for prose and his never-ending search for truth and meaning allow his words to hit as heavy as the riffs he plays.

Although The Obsessed went on a hiatus after The Church Within’s release on Columbia Records, Wino’s sheer passion and prolific nature led him to pursue many other critically acclaimed projects such as Spirit Caravan, The Hidden Hand, Shrinebuilder and various acoustic releases. Long-time fan Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) specifically asked Wino to perform on his all-star Probot album, released in 2004. In 2012, Wino rejoined Saint Vitus until the worldwide cry for The Obsessed could no longer be denied, and in 2016, he reunited the band once and for all and has been kicking ass and taking names ever since. Drummer Brian “Dawg” Costantino joined the band at this time. The band signed to Relapse Records and recorded 2017’s Sacred, an album showing The Obsessed back with pure vengeance, bringing the band back to venues and festival stages around the world.

In 2022, the band became a four-piece with the addition of Chris Angleberger on bass and Jason Taylor on guitar. They have been touring heavily since and have been seen on USA and European festival stages such as Hellfest, Freak Valley Festival, Snowblind Festival and Desertfest. The band’s latest record, Gilded Sorrow, was released in early 2024 on Ripple Music and lauded as a "must-listen for fans of the genre and a compelling entry point for newer voyagers into the world of doom" by Metal Hammer and "the best the band has ever sounded" by Ghost Cult Magazine.

The Obsessed welcomed heavy rock titan Bob Pantella (also Monster Magnet) to the lineup as their new drummer in 2025, marking a new chapter in their legacy. Now, in 2026, the band has signed to Heavy Psych Sounds and is working on their new album, which release date is yet to be announced. The Obsessed are here to stay. "IF IT AIN’T HEAVY… IT AIN’T SHIT!!!"

Frontman Scott "Wino" Weinrich declares: "We are very happy to announce The Obsessed signing with the premier hard rock label Heavy Psych Sounds! The Obsessed is currently finishing the next full-length record, which will be released with HPS. Stay tuned, and thanks to all who believe."

MOON DESTROYS (with current and ex-members of Torche, Abrams, Royal Thunder) share "Missing Wish" video; new album out September 4th on Blues Funeral Recordings

US heavy rock trio MOON DESTROYS — featuring current and former members of Torche, Abrams and Royal Thunder present their thunderous new video "Missing Wish" exclusively today. Their new album "OMNI" will be released on September 4th via Blues Funeral Recordings.

MOON DESTROYS are set to return with their new album OMNI, a shimmering blend of post-grunge, riff-doom and driving psychedelia that encapsulates the expansive soundscapes of their previous album She Walks by Moonlight into more focused and immediate cuts, delivering the breadth of the band's genre-pushing abilities in hook-driven, quickfire fashion. "OMNI is a universe built upon constantly shifting sands, written by three souls who still believe heavy rock can save this damned world," says guitarist Juan Montoya.

W️atch New Video "MISSING WISH" below:

Fresh off a breakout year that saw them tour with Elder, Dozer and The Sword, founding members Juan Montoya (ex-Torche) and Evan Diprima (Gold Pyramid, ex-Royal Thunder) ushered in 2026 by welcoming Zach Amster (Abrams) on lead vocals and rhythm guitar. Energized and hungry, the thunderous trio is now ready to enter their new chapter and fully unleash their infectious brand of heaviness upon the world, as demonstrated through their catchy latest single Flowers.

About the song "Missing Wish", guitarist and vocalist Zach Amster says, “We needed a couple more tracks to round out the record, so Evan dug into his archives and sent over the instrumental for what became 'Missing Wish'. Even though the demo was a few years old, I was instantly hooked by its sheer heaviness and the open space it left for vocals. Vocally, I wanted to push my boundaries by blending raw grit with accessible melodies. Lyrically, 'Missing Wish' dives straight into the heavy pain of fractured trust and the ghost of a potential that can never exist.”

New album "OMNI" - Out September 4th on Blues Funeral Recordings
LP/CD/digital available at this location

Formed by legendary guitarist Juan Montoya (a founding member of Torche) and drummer Evan Diprima (Gold Pyramid, Royal Thunder), MOON DESTROYS released their first EP Maiden Voyage in 2020. The 5-song debut featured contributions from Troy Sanders (Mastodon) and Bryan Richie (The Sword) and laid a foundation that would come fully into focus in April 2025, when the band was thrust into the limelight supporting Elder just as they were self-releasing their debut full-length She Walks By Moonlight. This shimmering blend of post-rock, riff-doom and shoegazy psychedelia stood as a cinematic and otherworldly journey from a band who breeze into the environs of My Bloody Valentine, The Cult, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Ride.

Capping off 2025, MOON DESTROYS was invited to support Swedish icons Dozer on their long-awaited US tour, while Blues Funeral Recordings gave She Walks By Moonlight a proper worldwide reissue in October, just in time for a coveted run of dates with The Sword. Their next full-length will be released in September 2026, with touring in the US and overseas to follow.

Doom/Post-Metallers DDENT Premiere New Song/Live Video For "Longue, obscure et triste lune" From Upcoming New Album "Feeding The Void's Luster"

Doom/Post-Metal collective DDENT are releasing their upcoming album Feeding The Void's Luster on July 24th 2026 and to get you into the mood for premiering the new video / single for Longue, obscure et triste lune thanks to the cool folks over at Purple Sage PR.

Captured live in the studio, this volcanic five-tracker pulls from previous material, twisting and rearranging it until the songs become a completely different beast. Heavier, louder, more towering and cathartic. With hardcore/punk drummer Alain Minot (ex-20 Seconds Falling Man) on board and blackened vocals from bassist Nicolas Zivkovich (Les Tigres du Futur, Fiend, Krv), DDENT's trademark hypnotic post-metal gets infused with an exhilarating tension and earth-shattering firepower on "Feeding the Void's Luster".

About the band

DDENT formed in the early 2010s as the instrumental brainchild of guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Louis Lambert and drummer Marc Le Saux. First EP Chien Noir was released in 2014, which quickly led to the addition of live musicians to the project. This milestone laid the foundations for a dark post-rock sound that induces a gripping spiritual and sensory journey. While 2017 debut LP آكتئاب narrated the introspective journey of a poet, their sophomore album TORO (2018) dealt with the search for truth through creation. It is safe to say that literature and philosophy have always been a centerpiece of DDENT's music.

In 2019, DDENT performed at Europe's largest metal festival Hellfest, tantalizing both the audience and critics with their bewitching performance. As a result, Louis Lambert started working on the follow-up album Couvre-sang — a massive and poetic post-metal 11-track awash with dark, elegant atmospheres and intriguing thematics, described as "pure instrumental industrial bliss, a living breathing beast, crafted superbly, with real emotional levels" by The Sleeping Shaman. In 2021, Lambert kept working as a solo act and released a cinematic single and video entitled "VOLEMOI". 2023 saw the talented songwriter's return with the Ex Auditu 2xEP on Chien Noir, then entering hiatus... until now.

About the album

DDENT returns this summer with a new lineup and a new album: “Feeding the Void's Luster”. Captured in two takes, with no metronome or samples, this volcanic five-tracker finds the quartet pulling from older material, twisting and rearranging it until they become a completely different beast. Heavier, louder, more towering, more cathartic.

To embody this renewal, DDENT welcomes new drummer Alain Minot (ex-20 Seconds Falling Man), whose hardcore and punk style infuses the tracks with some new tension. Blackened vocals from bassist Nicolas Zivkovich (Les Tigres du Futur, Fiend, Krv) also make an appearance on most tracks for the first time, without ever overshadowing the instrumental part — the cornerstone of their hypnotic post-metal.

Whereas band founder Louis Lambert used to write the bulk of the material, DDENT now operates as a full-blown collective. This record marks the first step in a new process, a way to reunite the band through playing together. Next up: an album consisting entirely of new material, work on which will begin in the fall.

Dutch Stoner Rock Pillars THE MACHINE announce new studio album "Another Sun"; out October 2nd via Blues Funeral Recordings and Awe Records

Dutch heavy psych and stoner rock trailblazers THE MACHINE have announced the release of their long-awaited eighth studio album "Another Sun" this October 2, to be co-released via Blues Funeral Recordings in North America and the UK and via the band's own imprint Awe Records in Europe in cooperation with Stickman Records, with a first single slated for late July.

For the better part of two decades, THE MACHINE have carved out a reputation as one of the most genre-defying acts to emerge from the European underground. Doused in space and soaked in riffs, the power trio of David Eering (guitar/vocals), Chris Both (bass) and Klaas Dijkstra (drums) has continually redefined its sound, balancing a deep-rooted love for stoner rock with excursions into heavy psych, progressive rock, doom, '90s alternative and expansive space rock. As one of the frontrunners of Europe's second wave of stoner and heavy psych, the band established an early landmark with the now cult-classic Solar Corona before continuing to evolve with every release that followed.

"Another Sun is an important milestone to me personally, after a couple of years with (apparent) reduced activity of the band – it‘s the first record with this great lineup and the first one that I recorded at my own place Evolver Studio. Without the intention to do so, I think we managed to honor a more old school The Machine vibe while also stepping into the future. Can’t wait for this one to be released and to play shows in support of it," says frontman David Eering.

THE MACHINE "Another Sun"
Out October 2nd on Blues Funeral Recordings (North America & UK)
Awe Records / Stickman Records (Europe)

Recorded in the fall of 2025 at Evolver Studio, Eering's newly built recording facility in Dordrecht, Another Sun captures what is arguably the strongest incarnation of THE MACHINE to date. Intricate in groove and rich in dynamic songwriting, the album digs deeper into classic heavy-toned songcraft while leaving ample room for the free-flowing jams that have always been central to the band's identity. Rather than reinventing themselves, THE MACHINE sharpen their unmistakable sonic fingerprint, reconnecting with the freeform spirit of their early work through a modern lens. They took their time to mature, only to return stronger, heavier and more inspired than ever.

Already announced with a surprise full-album performance at this year's Roadburn Festival, Another Sun signals the beginning of a new chapter for THE MACHINE. After nearly two decades as one of Europe's most consistently adventurous heavy rock bands, the trio now steps onto a broader international stage, reaffirming their place alongside legendary Dutch acts like 35007, Beaver and 7Zuma7, while finally bringing their expansive blend of stoner rock, heavy psych and space-driven grooves to a much wider audience.

Heavy Psych Rockers INSOMNIAC announce US fall shows; summer tour starts this week!

Atlanta, Georgia's ritualistic heavy rock unit INSOMNIAC has announced a full East Coast tour with festival appearances for the fall, as they prepare to kick off their US summer run alongside Texan doom outfit Slumbering Sun.

With their 2025 debut album "Om Moksha Ritam" on Blues Funeral Recordings, Atlanta's Insomniac have coalesced onto our plane like a third eye opening into the beyond, delivering a brooding, heavy, and psychedelic journey filled with riffs and beats written in the Earth's frequency. Dubbed by Treble Zine as "a spiritual awakening" and "one of the most breathtaking and brilliantly surreal pieces of music" by UK website Outlaws of the Sun, the music Insomniac creates drifts between this world and the next, hovering at the periphery of consciousness. REZN, King Buffalo and Dead Meadow naturally arise as points of reference, although it’s clear that fitting within confines isn’t really what the Atlanta band does.

About their upcoming tours, Insomniac says: "It's been an incredible ride over the last 8 months since Om Moksha Ritam released, and we've been working hard both on and off stage while racking up a ton of tour dates and road miles in the process. We're overjoyed to see firsthand how much our music has resonated with people far and wide, and the response continues to grow from the stage to the community daily."

Stoner doom heroes SONS OF OTIS to reissue all albums on Heavy Psych Sounds

Toronto's stoner doom icons SONS OF OTIS have signed to Heavy Psych Sounds Records for the reissue of their entire catalog, and reveal the first two releases to get a brand new pressing today.

For more than three decades, Toronto’s SONS OF OTIS have been one of Canada’s most respected heavy bands, forging a signature blend of doom, stoner rock, and psychedelia built on crushing riffs, hypnotic grooves, and immersive atmospheres. Their DIY debut Paid to Suffer (1994) introduced the band’s raw, uncompromising sound. While Spacejumbofudge (1996) expanded that vision into psychedelic territory, becoming an underground stoner rock classic. With Temple Ball (1999), the songwriting grew more expansive, helping establish the band’s international reputation.

Songs for Worship (2001) perfectly captured their balance of heaviness and atmosphere. X (2005) refined their sound with stronger production and memorable songwriting, while Exiled (2009) explored darker, more atmospheric territory. Seismic (2012) delivered some of the heaviest material of their career, and Isolation (2020) proved that, nearly 35 years in, SONS OF OTIS remains as powerful and inspired as ever.

Now, with their signing to Heavy Psych Sounds, the band enters an exciting new chapter. The acclaimed Italian label has become one of the leading names in heavy psychedelic, doom, and stoner rock, making it a natural home for a band whose influence has quietly resonated throughout the underground for decades. Get ready to discover or rediscover one of Canada’s true heavy music pioneers as they prepare for the next stage of their journey!

"Spacejumbofudge" album reissue - Out October 6th on Heavy Psych Sounds - Pre-order

"Paid To Sufffer" EP reissue - Out October 6th on Heavy Psych Sounds - Pre-order

About the first two records, frontman Ken Baluke states: “Our first recording 'Paid To Suffer' was completely DIY. We were all broke and asked our friends for donations in exchange for the tape and their name in the liner notes. We only released it on cassette. It was live off the floor and raw as hell, and we were looking to offend as many people as possible. Instead… people liked it. As for debut album 'Spacejumbofudge', it was our first full-length on a major label. It opened a lot of eyes back then. This is where our trademark “wall of fuzz” sound started to take shape. Big budget, big sounds... Trippy and heavy… a cult favorite of the underground scene."

Heavy Psychedelic Rockers PELEGRIN share new single and lyric video "In the Company of Stars" from new album "The Curse of Nephtar" out September 4th on Ripple Music

French heavy psychedelic rock explorers PELEGRIN keep gazing East with their travel-inducing new single "In the Company of Stars" (featuring Halima Joy on guest vocals). Their forthcoming third album "The Curse of Nephtar" is due on September 4th through Ripple Music.

After two critically-acclaimed LPs that earned them comparisons with Elder, King Buffalo and Slift, French heavy psych explorers Pelegrin are back with their most ambitious work to date, The Curse of Nephtar, to be released on Ripple Music this fall. Their signature sound, built around rich melodies, nuanced dynamics, and a dash of Arabian spices, has taken some steps towards a catchier and heavier direction. Razor-sharp riffs and powerful hooks are to be expected amid their trademark backdrop of proggy, ambient songwriting.

About the song, they say: "The album's narration, following the eons-long story of fossil fuels in the Middle East, continues with 'In the Company of Stars'. Oil is portrayed as a dark orb, born at the bottom of the deepest ocean, fighting to reach the surface and unleash its full power. In this song, while geological eras come and go, the dark orb grows conscious of its own existence. It learns how to manipulate the feeble ocean beings swimming, crawling and lurking about. Through them, the orb senses that there is more to see, more to do. Lifted upwards by massive schools of fish, carried by colossal cetaceans, it steers its way to solid ground - desolate lands in fact, with the sun and stars as sole companions."

With The Curse of Nephtar, Pelegrin has created a powerful allegory of fossil fuels and their tragic influence on modern-day events in the Middle East and beyond. The album draws inspiration from the ‘resource curse’ theory, which observes that oil-rich nations are paradoxically less peaceful, developed, and democratic than comparable countries with no such resources. Told through sound design, spoken word and incisive lyrics, the Nephtar story provides a perfect soundtrack for the chaotic times we live in. Stream the previous single "Eons" at this location!

PELEGRIN "The Curse of Nephtar" - Out September 4th on Ripple Music (LP/CD/digital)

“This is psychedelic stoner rock of the highest order.” - Outlaws of the Sun

“Plenty of evocative and cinematic images through a blend of dynamic surges.” - Powerplay Magazine

“Songs are forever shifting with moments of ethereal beauty, bitter angst, overwhelming cheer and undying optimism.” - Astral Noize

For the typically discrete and camera-shy Pelegrin, it’s perhaps natural to let others do the talking. Located between Nantes and Paris, the band has been earning a solid reputation as a hidden gem of the heavy rock underground. After self-releasing their first two albums Al-Mahruqa (2019) and Ways of Avicenna (2023) to great critical acclaim, they caught the eye of California’s very own Ripple Music – a leading label known for discovering young talents, as well as harboring some of the world’s best heavy rock acts (Hermano, 1000Mods, Wo Fat, The Obsessed…)

Largely a studio project for their first years, Pelegrin are now also emerging as a powerful live act that has shared stages with some of the genre’s top bands (Naxatras, Ufomammut, Hippie Death Cult, Deaf Radio). Their third album The Curse of Nephtar (released September 4th, 2026 by Ripple Music) is bound to delight old fans and seduce new ones.

About the upcoming album theme, the band says: "The album depicts the tale of Nephtar, a powerful black orb that comes to life in the depths of prehistoric ocean Tethys, which used to stand above the current Middle East. Ignored for eons, it eventually uses its manipulative powers to join the surface and subdue all living things. While for a brief moment, it is hoped that using Nephtar will create an era of plenty for all, humans come to realize that the price to pay is exceedingly heavy and start fighting to break the curse."

Pelegrin is

François Roze - guitar, vocals
Jason Recoing - studio bass
Nacim Virieux - live bass
Antoine Ebel - drums, percussions
