Doom/Stoner Rockers Sky Valley Mistress Announce "THUNDERTAKER" UK Tour

Named after the hearse they drive on tour THUNDERTAKER is the latest track from SKY VALLEY MISTRESS.

Opening with the apocalyptic power of early Black Sabbath before taking you on a joy ride fuelled by some Motörhead grade speed, THUNDERTAKER is a riff rippin’ rocket jam kicked out from the Sonic Strato- sphere for the world to hear.

Hitting your lobes Friday 26th September before hitting the road Thursday 2nd October, Thundertaker will be available to stream and then be seen parked up and played live in the flesh on the THUNDERTAKER WORLD TOUR that will take Sky Valley Mistress from Preston to Kent and everywhere in-between.

Starting at The Black Heart in London, full vocalist and half drummer Kayley “Hell Kitten” Davies will be playing alongside the other half drummer and almost full guitarist, Max “Leather Messiah” Newsome in their now iconically impressive Duel Drumming Duo that has to be seen to be believed. No click tracks. No backing tracks. No samples.

No one is playing rock and roll like these two do. The single launch will also come with the announcement of when the second full length Sky Valley Mistress album will officially land as well as an opportunity to hear their new record before it’s official release by finding the “Enrolment Envelope” they are hiding at every venue each night of the tour.

Canadian Evil Doom Metallers WITCHROT return with "Throat Cutter" video; new album out May 23 on Fuzzed & Buzzed and Majestic Mountain Records.

Toronto-based hypnotic doom merchants WITCHROT unleash the devilishly haunting first video taken from their new album "Soul Cellar", to be released on May 23rd through Fuzzed and Buzzed Records and Majestic Mountain Records. The band also just announced a string of summer European and UK shows.

Watch new video "Throat Cutter" via Metalsucks + listen to the single on all streaming services

WITCHROT's new album "Soul Cellar" sees the band pushing their creative boundaries by injecting more melody and fine touches of keyboards and developing atmospheres while staying true to their ethereal, doom-infused roots. "Soul Cellar" reflects the lives of its creators, delving into themes of hopelessness, betrayal, paranoia, and societal frustration. Deemed as “ dark, deep, and heavy doom metal to break your neck to” by Metalsucks, their haunting, hopelessness-filled soundscapes invite listeners to immerse themselves in the raw emotion and sonic depth they have become known for.

About their new single "Throat Cutter", they say: "Throat Cutter is specifically based on an experience Peter had witnessing his dog's eye being ripped out. The video incorporates an amalgam of imagery and textures caught on tape, true MK Ultra style. Our friend who made the video felt the song and video together were possessed. He was sure he would have to offer blood to the final tapes."

"Soul Cellar" was recorded at Simcoe Mechanical by Nixon Boyd and Palace Sound by Dylan Frankland. Mixed by Dylan Frankland and mastered by Tony Reed at Heavy Head Recording Co. Album art by ZZ Corpse. It will be released on LP, CD and digital formats on May 23rd, with preorders available now from Fuzzed and Buzzed Records (USA) and Majestic Mountain Records (EU).

New album "Soul Cellar"

Emerging from Toronto’s underground in 2018, WITCHROT has captivated audiences with their heartfelt fusion of doom metal, fuzzed-out psychedelia and haunting shoegaze. Founded by vocalist Lea Reto and guitarist Peter Turik, the quintet crafts hypnotic soundscapes where hazy vocals intertwine with massive waves of distortion, sludge and sleaze.

Joined by keyboardist Patrick Sherrard, WITCHROT continues to evolve while staying true to their roots. Their atmospheric melodies and crushing heaviness push genre boundaries, creating a sound that lingers like an echo in the abyss. Joining the lineup are Jon Ferreira (former Panzerfaust) on bass and Myles Deck (Cauldron) on drums.

This Summit Fever - UK Fuzz Rock Duo Announce Self-Titled Album & Release New Video For "Hooks"

UK fuzz rock duo This Summit Fever is gearing up for the release of their self-titled debut album, due out on April 4, 2025, via Majestic Mountain Records. Packed with colossal riffs, thunderous grooves, and raw, unfiltered energy, the album defies the limits of a two-piece lineup and is poised to make a major impact on the stoner rock scene, living up to the high expectations surrounding the band.

"We may be a two-piece, but we’ll shake the ground like a five-piece." Says drummer Jim McSorley.

The first single, "Hooks", is out now, bringing a blues-inspired, octave-fuzz riff assault that channels the band’s high-energy sound. McSorley’s thunderous drumming and Blackburn’s raw vocal delivery make for a track that hits hard from the first note.

Originally formed as a lockdown project by guitarist/vocalist Andy Blackburn, This Summit Fever quickly evolved when drummer Jim McSorley joined forces. What started as home-recorded demos quickly became a full-fledged, high-impact fuzz rock machine, fueled by a love for massive riffs and driving rhythms.

BBC Introducing picked up their early demos, and soon, This Summit Fever was a live force to be reckoned with, hitting Bloodstock, Stoomfest, and Desertfest, and sharing stages with Raging Speedhorn and Margarita Witch Cult. Their two EPs—2021’s "Doubt" and 2023’s "Distraction Rituals"—laid the groundwork for their first full-length album, showcasing their raw, relentless energy.

Catch the band live at the following dates:

March 30 – Leicester, Riff n Beers Fest
April 11 – Wolverhampton, Dive (Album Launch)
April 12 – Bournemouth, Dorset Doomsday
April 16 – Manchester, Night and Day (Headline Show)
May 2-4 – Shrewsbury, Loopfest
May 18 – London, Desertfest

Earl Of Hell was born in 2020, just prior to the COVID pandemic which forced the UK into lockdown. They spent the first few months sharing ideas remotely and began rehearsing once restrictions finally eased. With music venues closed, the band spent a year honing their set and wouldn't play their first gig until August 2021 to an all- seated audience. This was shortly followed by a sold-out first hometown show in Edinburgh’s legendary Sneaky Pete's.

The band released a series of singles, ‘Blood Disco’ and ‘Arrythmia’, while continuing to play around Scotland and Northern England. They finally hit the studio again in 2022 to record and release their debut EP ‘Get Smoked’ on US label Slightly Fuzzed Records, receiving many positive reviews within the stoner and doom community. This was followed by an extensive run of shows, which included their first visit to London and opening for Bongzilla and Phil Campbell And The Bastard Sons.

Over the summer of 2022, Earl Of Hell looked to expand their sound by recruiting a second guitarist in the person of Dan Mitchell. The band dynamic was enhanced as they immediately began writing and performing live as a five piece, opening for touring acts such as Lightning Bolt, Gnome and The Vintage Caravan.

2023 would prove to be the most successful year yet for Earl Of Hell, playing in excess of 30 shows, including a slot at the coveted Desertfest London, a summer tour with Iceland’s Volcanova and opening for bands such as Sasquatch and Nick Oliveri’s Mondo Generator. On Halloween, they released their fourth single ‘Impaler’, rounding the year off with headline weekenders in London, the Midlands and the North of Scotland. 2024 has seen Earl Of Hell complete a successful tour with renowned multi-instrumentalist and producer Alain Johannes, performing as tour support and Alain's own backing band.

Hardcore/Punk/Sludge Metallers Silverburn (ex-Taint & Hark) announce UK tour with High on Fire

SILVERBURN, the new solo project by James ‘Jimbob’ Isaac (Hark & Taint) released their debut album Self Induced Transcendental Annihilation via MSH Group Music in August last year.

Welsh metal visionary Jimbob Isaac, known from his previous bands Taint and Hark, recorded the album during lockdown in 2020. He handled all vocals, guitar, bass and drums himself. With this album, Jimbob has meticulously crafted a wholly uncompromising solo offering in the truest sense. It has been said that extreme conditions demand extreme responses, and Self Induced Transcendental Annihilation ('SITA') began as an elemental response to the almighty global gut-punch that surrounded it’s creation.

From the world-ending double-kick maelstrom of opening track “Annihilation” to the cinematic, discordant chug and release of “Etheric Crush” this album draws from Isaac’s beloved eras of 90’s metal and 00’s metallic hardcore, noisecore, space and sludge metal and bands like Botch, Mastodon, Knut, Converge, Keelhaul, Crowbar, Sepultura, Neurosis and Helmet.

Now following shows with Crowbar and a slot at ArcTanGent festival, SILVERBURN, will tour the UK in June this year with High on Fire. Jimbob comments,

"Silverburn are pumped for this tour. I've made artwork for High on Fire in the past, and have known Jeff (Matz) for many years. These will be some intense shows, so prepare for maximum pummel”.

Morag Tong unveils new video for At First Light; Album out October 6th on Majestic Mountain Records And Announce October 2023 UK Tour

London based Progressive Psych Doomsters Morag Tong have a video out for the first single to be released from upcoming sophomore album Grieve which can be found over at Invisible Oranges who state that:

"At First Light" gets loud, but there's always a sense of skillful control behind the onslaught, and there's swaths of drone-enriched hypnotism helping to give the loud bits the proper context. Melodic lead work lends the sometimes somber, sometimes hopeful proceedings an especially thoughtful extra layer, hinting at mysteries that only Morag Tong's dialed-up amplifiers can possibly reveal."

Watch The Video Below:

Grieve is the band's long-awaited follow-up to 2018's acclaimed full-length debut Last Knell of Om and marks their first release on Majestic Mountain Records. Regarding the album Vocalist/Drummer Adam Asquith states "we wanted to create something huge and heavy, but also gorgeous, textured and atmospheric. Incorporating both massive, aggressive wall of sound sections and more pensive, stripped back ambient instrumentals I think we have hit that sweet spot - something anguished and anxious, crumbling and dangerous, yet eerily beautiful and oozing with a love for life itself."

The album can be pre-ordered here

There will also be a short UK tour following the release of the album with Stevenage's Everest Queen supporting...

Brought up on bands like Sonic Youth and The Jesus Lizard, Bordeaux-based outfit MARS RED SKY had no idea that they were about to become French stoner scene cornerstones when they founded the band in 2007. Yet the heavy psychedelic trio already share many similarities and obvious connections with the "heavy and slow" community.

Free from any musical genre consideration, the musicians build their very own style on the tracks of the underground pioneers. Julien Pras' ethereal and melodic voice emerges from a thick and complex rhythm, carried by sci-fi literature's lyricism. Almost cinematic, MARS RED SKY's sounding has a peculiar and unique flavour, standing out within the heavy rock scene.

To record their self-titled debut album, they shut themselves up in a remote house in the wilderness of the Spanish desert. Hypnotic, exhilarating, heavy, the release conquered the very select heavy family and brought the trio to the biggest international rock and metal stages (SXSW, Hellfest, Desertfest, Roadburn, Eurockéennes), as well as opening for major acts such as Sleep, Dinosaur Junior, Kyuss Lives!, Killing Joke, Detroit or Gojira.

On stage, they manage to recreate their sophisticated studio atmospheres and to deliver the special sonic touch that characterises them. Their live shows absorb the listener, lose him into a visual and vibrant limbo and take him into another dimension. Beyond a simple concert, it is a real sensorial experience that is proposed.

A series of EP releases follow, including a split with post-metal sextet Year Of No Light in 2012. In 2014, MARS RED SKY begin a collaboration with French label Listenable Records and welcome their new drummer Matgaz to replace Benoît Busser who decides to leave the band. Together they complete the albums "Stranded In Arcadia" (2014), "Apex III (Praise For The Burning Soul)" (2016) and "The Task Eternal" (2019). Matgaz's vision and musicianship create depth in the trio's personality, which take a darker and more massive turn throughout these three productions.

Eager for original projects, MARS RED SKY decide to release their debut album in December 2021, to celebrate the band's 10th anniversary, by providing an online tool for re-mixing it. The album is available via their own record label Mrs Red Sound, through which they support French heavy rock scene.

Julien Pras: vocals, guitar
Jimmy Kinast: bass
Matgaz: drums

Killed A Fox Announce 2021 UK Tour

Killed a Fox, Croatian rockers are finally coming to UK. Stoner four-piece have penned a week long tour that will see the band play Norwich, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Liverpool and London.

Last year’s “Crown Shyness” album has been met by an avalanche of positive feedback, from the fans and critics alike. Crossing borders and moulding stoner and metal has put a band on a new path. And found them some celebrity friends. Shows with Black Tusk, Bison and EyeHateGod have spread the Foxes rock sermon even further.

Killed a Fox started out as a three piece (vocals, two guitars) in Zagreb, Croatia in the fall of 2006. recording demos in an improvised home studio where they spent most of 2007. Soon they found a bass player and a drummer and the band immediately booked numerous shows and worked tirelessly on their material. After a couple of years of playing live and gathering priceless experience, the band recorded their debut album 'Fluorescence' in early 2009. Their musical identity lies somewhere between alternative rock/metal and psychedelic rock with an exceptional sense of rhythm and melody.

They are well known as a great live act with "sweat-no-matter-what" attitude.

After a change in the line-up in 2010. the band became a four piece and continued that way ever since. In late 2013. they released their second album titled ''Spring of Sloth and Haze'' from which they released their first video ''Hive'' and received praise from fans and critics. From that point on, the band became a crucial part of the Croatian underground scene. Together with other local acts they formed a band collective called ‘’House of Pablo’’ and in 2015. released two tracks on the self-titled compilation including a video for the song ‘’Beyond Repair’’.

After sharing the stage with names like Alice in Chains, Orange Goblin, EyeHateGod, Karma to Burn and many others throughout the years, the band retreated to work on their 3rd record named ''Crown Shyness'' from which they released the singles ’’Still Life Mirror’’ and ’’Submission’’. The album was released in March 2019 and was praised by fans and critics as one of the outstanding rock albums of the year.

Since forming in 2012, Mancunian sludge fourpiece Nomad have shared stages with the likes o EyeHateGod, Conan and Bongripper. Metalheads in the north west of England are under no illusions as to the ferocity of their live shows.

Frontman Drian Nash is known for tempering his confrontational performances with a selfdeprecating Manc sense of humour, firmly establishing Nomad at the heart of Manchester’s burgeoning stoner/doom scene. This tour will be an opportunity for rifflovers from across the UK to see how Nomad have achieved their unrivalled reputation within such a competitive scene in England’s north west.

Their debut EP (released in 2014 by renowned underground label When Planets Collide) was followed by a split EP with Wort released by Red Valley Records the following year.
Nomad frontman Drian: "It’s always a blast playing with the Mower guys so this tour should have enough planetsized riffs and carnage to be lasting us. We are sharing the stage with some of our favourite bands along the way; Elephant tree, Iron Swan and Kurokuma. Also Stoked to get to finish it all off with a huge party in our hometown. That’s if we don’t crash into a mountain in a big ball of fire blasting Toto and sipping cocktails.”

Relative newcomers Mower are a doom/noise trio from nearby Wigan whose debut EP “Meathead”, released at the start of this year, is already turning heads. As a live presence they'll be known by attendees of MammothFest, Tombstones alldayer and RiffFest as a band not to miss on what will be their first gigs in a number of cities outside of Manchester.

Vocalist Jay says of the tour: “This will be our first tour, and what a way to pop the cherry, making this fine pilgrimage around the U.K, with Nomad! We're all buzzin' to go make some Mowerflavoured noise in other parts of the country. We also get to play some new venues with some other amazing bands, a proper privilege indeed. We shall be providing the White Russians and obscene sexual favours as thanks. Riffs await.”

With such a strong stoner/doom scene in Manchester, this tour will be an opportunity for rifflovers from across the UK to see how this scene’s stalwarts have achieved their unrivalled reputation alongside with one of the area’s most exciting new prospects.
