Review:

Our first introduction to Throneless is a great one. 4 songs that captivate. From the opening track "Masters of Nothing" you are enticed with a trance inducing riff. Something that remains a big part of this EP throughout. Thick, brooding riffs that carry some serious weight and at the very least will make your head bounce.

While riffs swirl around the head, vocals come raining down as if from above. Like a distant thunder echoing through canyons. They hit their mark in being prominent yet not to distracting as to take you out of this trance like state. It might catch some off guard, after reading this, to find that Throneless do not fear mixing up the tempo for something more faster paced. Instead they seem to embrace it as you'll hear on tracks "Cavedrones" and "Thinning The Herd".

Through and through the drums play lead in what pushes the band along. Every beat hitting it's mark to usher in those weighty riffs that seem to be well thought out. Once you have been broken, Throneless leave us with "Reaching For The Dead", the closing track. Starting with a feeling of lament and sorrow that does well to cleanse the palate. Just when you start to feel as if you might be lulled the record ends and you're reminded of the waves that had washed over you for the past 35 minutes. For certain, I'll be looking forward to the next release from this Swedish 3 piece.
