Kaiser
new album 1st Sound is an amalgamation of heavy different musical
sounds such as Desert Rock, Stoner Rock, Fuzz, Psych and Sludge Rock.
The album is a turbo charged affair with Kaiser on inspired form from
the start. Taking influence from Kyuss, Fu Manchu and Truckfighters.
1st Sound is an album that doesn't take long for Kaiser to start
playing a hybrid Desert Rock/Sludge/Stoner Rock sound with elements
of Psychedelic Rock and Grunge vibes making a welcome appearance.
First
track - High Octane Supersoul - is fast-paced and upbeat number with
the band showing a decent amount of FUZZ based energy. The vocals has
a grunge based vibe especially towards the end of the song. Before
that Kaiser opt for a Psychedelic Fuzz/Stoner Rock sound that has a
certain vintage feel.
Second
track - Desert Eye - carries on the fast-paced Psychedelic Desert
Rock sound with Kaiser adding a more modern Stoner Metal groove that
fans of Truckfighters will no doubt enjoy. The instrumental work is
quite progressive in parts with Kaiser expertly switching the mood to
one of pure relentless energy.
Third
track - We Bleed For This - follows the same psychedelic path as the
opening tracks but with a more aggressive edge especially with the
vocals. From here on in Kaiser simply create more exciting moments as
the album progresses from one song to the next.
Other
great songs to check out are: Voidmaster, Ouroboros, Earthquake, Fuzz
Of Fury and Galactic Outside. Some of the songs maybe slightly too
long at times but Kaiser soon find a way to keep the overall mood of
the album exciting and fresh.
The
best parts of the album is when Kaiser opt for a heavier grungier
sound and the vocals follow the same path. 1st Sound production is
clear and crisp as the sound can be quite vintage and modern at the
same time.
Kaiser
have released one of those albums that the Desert/Fuzz/Stoner Rock
community will go crazy for.
Kaiser
have delivered the goods with this HEAVY MONSTER. 1st Sound is pure
Stoner Rock entertainment of the highest order.
