CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 17, 2024 — This summer promises to be the hottest and the heaviest on record.
On Sat., Aug. 17, The second annual SEISMIC SUMMER FEST will boil over at the world famous Milestone Club in Charlotte, N.C., bringing 10 supremely heavy bands to the legendary stage.
“This lineup showcases some of the best veteran and emerging acts across the East Coast,” says festival organizer Garrett Garlington, also of the Charlotte band Cosmic Reaper. “SEISMIC SUMMER, VOLUME II, is going to be one for the record books.”
After an inaugural event in 2023, headlined by Asheville, N.C., heavy psych band Bask and Greenville, S.C., sludge band Witchpit, SEISMIC SUMMER, VOLUME II promises to build on the first year’s success with an even bigger, heavier bill.

With sounds ranging from melodic doom metal and heavy psychedelic rock to crossover thrash and sludge, SEISMIC SUMMER, VOLUME II promises a dynamic cross-section of heavy music sure to delight all those who worship the Almighty Riff.
“The scene is thriving right now,” Garlington says. “There are so many great bands bringing their own personality to heavy music. We’re excited to be showcasing just a fraction of the immense talent we have in the region and beyond.”
“Year one started out as a way to bring all the bands Cosmic Reaper had met on the road together for a big party, but it quickly evolved into something more. I fully expect this fest to grow into the premier destination for heavy music in the Southeast over the coming years,” Garlington says.
