Review
Transmutación is the new album from Psych/Doom/Stoner Rockers INCHE KAI CHE and sees the band play a soaring style of music inspired by the likes of Black Sabbath, Monster Magnet and Black Rainbows with a free-flowing Blues Rock sound throughout the album. This works superbly well with INCHE KAI CHE immersing themselves with waves of Space Rock and Prog Rock along the way. The album is a stylish collection of classic sounds with a nod to 1970’s sonic exploration which comes across superbly well within the opening tracks of Transmutación and Caer es Volar.
There’s a deep reliance on elements of Fuzz Rock from INCHE KAI CHE which gives their overall sound a fabulous seedy sound with extra dirt and gritty determination oozing from the speakers whilst having a fun RAWK & ROLL attitude within the majority of the tracks. The superb use of amplifier feedback and guitar reverb is another nice touch which adds a classic Hard Rock sound to the whole album which INCHE KAI CHE use to their own creative advantage.
Transmutación has a distinctive Garage Rock sound within the production values that appears within the whole album that gives INCHE KAI CHE a fearless attitude which can be quite subdued at times but when the HEAVY GROOVES appear then the band aim for the jugular and that results within some of the heaviest, freakiest and standout instrumental parts of the whole album.
Standout tracks on the record include: Transmutación, Ancestral, Destino and Sagan.
Sometimes INCHE KAI CHE gets lost within the music along the way with some parts going on a bit too longer than they initially should. However, the music is always superbly played and there’s a high amount of instrumental solos that take you into “TRANSDIMENSIONAL SPACE GOAT” territory which does remind me of early era Monster Magnet and Nebula at times.
Transmutación is a superbly entertaining record which should hopefully see INCHE KAI CHE become a bit more well known within the underground Doom/Stoner Rock scene.
Excellent and Highly Recommended.
