STONE FIST’s upcoming, self-titled debut EP delivers six tracks brimming with fuzz-laden guitars, pounding rhythms, and hypnotic grooves. This recording immerses listeners in the essence of stoner rock, blending psychedelic atmospheres with the gritty energy of grunge. The trio’s rich sound features earth-shaking riffs and swirling melodies. This raw and powerful release is highly recommended for fans of desert rock, doom-flavored anthems, and the primal energy of 90s alternative music.
The EP will be out on May 9 via Go Down Records.
We're excited to premiere the excellent new song/video for Nightmare Blues thanks to the good folks over at All Noir PR
The band say this about Nightmare Blues:
"Nightmare Blues delves into the darkest corners of the human mind, articulating our deepest fears and anxieties. We combined powerful riffs and lyrics to convey a harrowing inner journey marked by fear and uncertainty. Our goal was to create a listening experience that was both devastating and cathartic. This song is one of the earliest we composed and best captures our essence so far".

Review
Pole is the exciting third album from Psych Stoner Rockers Veuve where they add a bold and adventurous spirit into their music compared to their previous albums. The sound is quite cosmic based but also offers a grounded sense of reality within the warm hearted vocals and hard rocking lyrics. Veuve plays with a subtle heavy Psychedelic narrative appearing with plenty of FUZZ ROCK surroundings especially within the opening tracks of Land Of Denial and The Thaw. With a reliance on bass heavy musical structures and sludgy maneuvers that bring in aggressive style of Psych Doom to the masses.
The album has a similar style of music played by the likes of King Buffalo, All Them Witches, Weedpecker and Elder but keeping within their Italian Psych Rock heritage that allows the band the perfect opportunity to build heavier musical surroundings that become quite progressivr along the way. The album is inspired by Fantasy, Horror and Science Fiction throughout the album where the listener can easily tell which TV or Film property inspired certain sections of the album.
Veuve employ a 1970’s Prog Rock and Hard Rock structure on the less abrasive and quieter parts of the album whilst leaving the modern day Sludge/Stoner aspects building up a catchy and aggressive rhythm especially with the haunting synths and psychedelic soundscapes that are the best parts of the whole album.
The clean sounding vocals are another highlight to the album which allows the listener to focus solely on the story without any harsh vocals or growls disrupting the cinematic flow. The majority of the tracks are on the long side ranging from six minutes to eleven minutes in length. Veuve go all out on Pole with long drawn out instrumental grooves and ambient textures that can be ice-cold to hear at times especially on tracks such as Quest For Fire, Inner Desert and The Sudden Light which is perhaps the standout section of the whole album.
Veuve play the heaviest sounds on these tracks alone with a Sludge Rock/Metal appetite merging with the classic sounds of 1970’s Prog Rock and Hard Rock with a sense of 1990’s based Grunge and Alt-Rock. The 1970’s musical melodies are beautifully poetic with a deft Blues Rock touch that was quite an unexpected surprise that gives the album a sense of real human worth. Though, Veuve are not afraid to transform into monolithic SLUDGE RIFF SLAYING monsters with a destructive style that feels like it came from a totally different band altogether.
Pole is an album that veers off into one hundred different directions but I mean that as a HUGE compliment as everything comes together at the right moment with Veuve delivering a non-stop array of outstanding riffs, grooves and sounds until the very end. This is a quality sounding album and one that deserves to be heard by the biggest audience possible.
Excellent and Highly Recommended.

Grunge/Stoner Rockers UNDERDOGS’ upcoming new album represents the band’s rebirth after a long hiatus - Their comeback features the heavy sound of the early days, combined with greater technical awareness and a new Hardcore Punk attitude. Taking a wink at genre clichés without becoming addicted, they mix different elements to create their trademark. The new songs are clearly drawn from the 90s and have been influenced by post-punk and post-metal. The band’s mission is to refresh its roots with a contemporary approach.
"Nine Ties" will be coming out on October 25 via Go Down Records.
To get you into the mood for this superb and bombastic new album, we're excited to premiere the new song/video for Knockin On Hell's Door featuring the legendary Nick Oliveri.
The band have this to say about the song:
"Knockin' On Hell's Door originated from a guitar and drums jam, with a punk-core rhythm reminiscent of Mondo Generator's first album. In my mind, Oliveri's vocals would have been perfect... When Go Down Records gave us the opportunity to open for a Nick Oliveri gig, we submitted the song to him. He keenly agreed to sing it and provided us with perfect vocals in a quick but effective backstage recording, demonstrating great humility and professionalism. Shortly after, we performed it together on stage, and the footage ended up in the song's official video."
Nine Ties' by Underdogs will be out on Oct 25 via Go Down Records and is available for pre-order here:

Review
The Hedonist is the new album from Grunge/Stoner Rockers A Forest Mighty Black who tap into the similar creative source of bands such as Soundgarden, Alice In Chains and QOTSA with perhaps more focus on melodic Alternative Rock. Though you have to give A Forest Mighty Black credit for not falling into the sidelines of Classic Rock / Retro Rock outfits have failed to adapt to recently. As they show a great Psychedelic swagger which has a cool sounding modern day sound.
With a record called The Hedonist, the band focuses upon GOOD vs EVIL and RIGHT vs WRONG within each of the individual tracks with soaring grunge anthems wrapped within a subtle style of Stoner Rock grooves which show a slight reliance of Blues Rock, Hard Rock and even Sludge based aggression.
The first few songs of Animals & Warriors, Birdman and Mental Maze allows A Forest Mighty Black to construct the “LIGHT vs DARK” aesthetic for the lyrical framework with the instrumental sounds becoming more daring with each passing rhythm, groove and riff which drifts between Soundgarden heaviness and the coolness of early-era QOTSA whilst demonstrating the devastating darkness that Alice In Chains ultimately delivered.
The second half of the record is where A Forest Mighty Black venture off into their own musical world and deliver epic sounds of seedy FUZZY heaviness with a raw Stoner Rock/Metal direction that becomes quite DOOM & GLOOM based on tracks such as Mantra Chant, The Night Before The Stars Went Off and Grave Digger.
The final three tracks show A Forest Mighty Black to end up in a different creative location and sound compared to where they ultimately began with. The Hedonist is a mighty fine and damn impressive record from the band which should satisfy both sets of fans from the Grunge and Stoner music scenes. The record has got great riffs, vocals and instrumental sounds throughout which should allow A Forest Mighty Black to become more well known within the underground scene.
After three highly appreciated records, ANUSEYE are back with Right Place Wrong Time. This concept album is the first of two chapters and deals with space/ time perception. It’s a journey, a little bit real and a little bit dreamlike, to explore
places relevant to the inner consciousness of the band members because they evoke emotions, thoughts, and inspirations. Departures and arrivals are on a loop: each song is named after a city, each city represents a trip, and each trip is a song. The nine tracks feature the artistic maturity of these Heavy Psych veterans, blended with fresh sounds and beautiful arrangements in Psych/Kraut sauce. The digital version is expanded with three bonus tracks to keep on tripping.
Thanks to the kind folks over at All Noir PR, we're premiering the New Video/Visualiser for the new song ODESSA from the upcoming new album Right Place Wrong Time due out on DD/Vinyl via Go Down Records from October 20th 2023.
ABOUT THE BAND
Anuseye is a band formed in 2010 from the ashes of That’s All Folks! That early group pioneered the Stoner Rock genre in the 90s Italian music scene and shared stages and releases with iconic names such as Nebula, Ufomammut, Firebird, and Roadsaw. Anuseye’s mastermind is musician Claudio Colaianni, also known to Psych fans for Colt.38 as his side project releasing good value gems since 2001. In particular, the self-titled album, reissued by Nasoni Records in 2008, received praise from British psy chedelic musicians such as Bari Watts, Nick Saloman (The Bevis Frond), Julian Cope, and Adrian Shaw.
Anuseye’s sound moves away from the Heavy Rock of previous bands to embody 60s Psych Rock with higher technical and artistic awareness. They performed on stage with The Fuzztones, Vibravoid, The Warlocks, Yawning Man, Hypnosis, and more. Their self-titled debut album was produced by UK-based John Wills (Loop, Hair & Skin Trading Company) and released by Interbang Records in 2011. The cover features a controversial artwork by artist Massimo Gurnari, who created an ultra-limited version of 30 hand-painted copies.
In 2014, the band signed with the indie label Vincebus Eruptum Recordings and relea sed Essay On A Drunken Cloud on LP and CD bundled with Vincebus Eruptum fanzine #18. In 2019, the 12” vinyl 3:33 333 was released for the same label, and the music press reviewed it as one of the year’s best records. The cover features artwork by Boris Pramatarov, a Bulgarian artist with whom the band forges a lasting collaboration. The connection between music and art is very dear to Anuseye.
After several changes, the lineup features leader Colaianni on guitar and vocals, multi-instrumentalist Stefano Pomponio (ex Madre De Dios) on guitar, keys, piano, and backing vocals, Giovanni D’Elia (ex Karma In Auge) on bass, and Cosimo Armenio (ex Apulian Blues Foundation) on drums and percussion.
In 2023, Anuseye signed with Go Down Records to release their fourth record Right Place Wrong Time. A concept album about traveling, halfway between the real and the dreamlike, through the places that have shaped the musicians’ inner consciousness. The cover artwork is again by Pramatarov, and the LP and digital release is due in Fall 2023.

Useless Propaganda" is the third album by the Milan based ONE HORSE BAND, a mysterious creature known as the loudest one man band on planet earth. Recorded in Toronto, Canada, produced and mixed by the Los Angeles rock producer Dave Schiffman (who has worked for bands like Rage Against The Machine, System Of A Down and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club), the new LP dials down the aggression in favor of reflection.
Coming from a strict do it yourself philosophy and a fast & loud attitude, the One Horse Band has not completely left his rawness behind but carefully redefined it in a more mature and polished dress.
"Useless Propaganda" intentionally rips apart the idea of what the One Horse Band is and represents, sounding like a fine tuned mash up between alternative rock, garage noise and punk anger.
Lyrics are getting very personal, but even the most introspective moments are delivered with the same desperation and represent a voice of righteous rage in the modern age.
"Useless Propaganda" is an intimate journey from innocence to disillusion, a new evolutionary stage in the One Horse Band path and a painful scream that will probably remain unheard.
You can hear the new video for Supersonic below from the upcoming new album:
Here's a quote from ONE HORSE Band about the new video "Supersonic is a straight and simple rock’n’roll song. Sometimes you try to look suspicious or even sophisticated, afterall you always end up grabbing a guitar and playing the same old three chords. It’s such a timeless formula".
"Useless Propaganda" will be coming out on April 7 via Go Down Records and is available for pre-order here:
Italian Post-Grunge/Alternative Rockers Gunash released their new album All You Can Hit back in April 2022 via Go Down Records. One of the standout tracks was the song Predators featuring Stoner Rock Legend Nick Oliveri.
Now the band have released a great new video for Predators which you can view below
The band say this about the video and song
Luca Negro (bass): "With Predators, we managed to combine our fastest and angriest music and we selected one of the most important collaboration so far to do it. Nick Oliveri is one of the most iconic figures and one of our favourite musicians, a wonderful person to make music with".
Danilo Abaldo (drums): "The song 'Predators' is a powerful and roaring single arising from the lucky match between our band and Nick Oliveri. Nick immediately loved the track and included it in his latest compilation 'N.O. Hits At All Vol. 7'. This live footage is the precious testimony of the debut performance of this song, during the sold out show at the Brin de Zinc Club, in Barberaz, France. We can't wait to play on the same stage again on Sunday 7th August 2022, when Gunash will be an opener for Nick Oliveri and Brant Bjork's Stöner at the Freakout Club in Bologna, Italy".
Ivano Zorgniotti (vocals, guitar): "Nick was the right foot for that kickass boot"

All You Can Hit is available to buy now on CD/DD/Vinyl via Go Down Records.
One of Italy’s premier Psychedelic Stoner Rock Bands return with their fourth album The Fourth Moon. Prehistoric Pigs new record sees the band move slightly away from their other albums sound by switching to a heavier, cosmic and more riffier style of music with their love for Californian Desert/Stoner Metal scene intact. The album is a trippy mix of Karma To Burn Heavy Instrumental Rock, KYUSS Desert/Stoner Metal raw sounds and maybe with a little Earthless/Hawkwind flavour sprinkled in for good measure.
The music is consistently heavy and moving along at a cracking Stoner Metal pace with high volumes and levels of Psychedelic Aggression which you can hear from the excellent opening song C35. A song with a doom and gloom presence in certain places with a raw sounding atmosphere for the drums to rule the roost with fuzzy guitars adding extra firepower.
Prehistoric Pigs are your classic “Power-Trio” setup but feel like they have more members in their ranks with the amount of different styles heard on the album. Opening song C35 even has elements of a Proggy Jazzy sounding vibe towards the later stages of the song.
The album isn’t as progressive as their previous efforts as the band have written songs lasting upto thirteen minutes in the past. Not so here with most of the songs lasting between five to six minutes in length. So it feels and sounds like they've trimmed all of the excess fat and released an album that gets straight down to business in bringing awesome grooves and psychedelic riffs.
Songs such as: Old Rats, Crototon and The Fourth Moon follow up next with Prehistoric Pigs bringing more delicious FUZZ based Desert/Stoner Metal songs with some cool Ambient sounds just to sound that little bit different even when the “Jazzy” and almost “Experimental” style of music you can rest assured you’re in good hands. With the band bringing some of the heaviest and fuzzed out moments on the best song that is the title track.
The album ends with the final two songs of Left Arm and Meteor 700. This continues with the refreshing and dynamic raw sounding atmosphere which allows Prehistoric Pigs to bring their best album since their acclaimed debut album Wormhole Generator which I reviewed back in the day on another blog I used to run but that’s another lifetime ago and maybe alternative dimension or universe.
The Fourth Moon is a fresh perspective on the Instrumental Stoner Rock/Metal scene. Some people may feel it’s the same old stuff but I implore everyone to give this a few spins to discover the hidden sounds on this action-packed and outstanding record.

Italian Psych Stoner Rockers Prehistoric Pigs will be releasing their stunning and action packed new album The Fourth Moon via Go Down Records on November 26th 2021.
You can premiere the new song METEOR 700 from the upcoming new album below:
The band have said this about the song: Meteor 700' is the name of the atomic engine used by the arms-trafficking interstellar primate. A tireless engine with an obsessive roar. No distance will ever again be unbridgeable, no peak unreachable!

The coolest nights, you know, happen by chance. For THE HORNETS and the subsequent release of this first album, it was more or less like that. A band formed almost out of boredom, for fun, for leisure, to get out of the usual work routine, to give voice to some love failures, or to flip off a bad day, or simply to escape from other musical projects. The rest is easy: it was enough to attach the guitar to a Fender Supereverb with the volume at 8, a couple of badass drum fills, oh well, the bass (because there must be one...) and Heavier Than A Stone was born.
These are the simple points from which the idea of the record starts: raw elements, belonging to the each of us, sincere, alive, waiting only for the hands of some asshole (in this case The Hornets) to make them shine and give them a musical life and, of course, they could only be pronounced to the sound of Rock’n’Roll, plain and simple. Everything is seemingly easy, smooth or obvious, that’s nonsense! The realization of all this, and of what has been said, was long, heavy, but at the same time lustful, and the result that was born out of it is just as much!
ABOUT THE BAND
September 2016; a band is formed basically out of boredom and for no reason: two brothers (experienced by force of circumstances), the neighbor friend and the drummer, who comes in later. Everyone had already some musical experience with them and the results came without problems. A human sound, sincere, all around Seventies! Then, a series of concerts and “one shot-one kill” singles from 2017, until the release of the first album Heavier Than A Stone in the Summer of 2021.
LINE-UP
Stefano Francia | guitar, vocals
Alberto Francia | bass, vocals
Giovanni Artioli | guitar, vocals

To get you into the mood for their upcoming new album "Heavier Than A Stone", we are premiering the new song "Female Creed". So enjoy this great blast of "Garage Rock" energy.
The band have said this about "Female Creed" - Female Creed, not a simple description of the stereotypical female aspect, on the contrary! The opposite! We want to represent the multitude of colors and facets that characterize each of us, without distinction! And to make it clear, who more than a woman can do it!?
Thanks to Dominik at All Noir PR for all of the details.
Live At Rocket Club", the upcoming live album by OJM, one of the legendary first Italian bands dedicated to Stoner Rock!
"Live At Rocket Club" captures the band in one of their best ever moments, the tour that promoted the band's classic album "Volcano", which reached fame and success by press and fans, thanks to the production and mixing of Dave Catching (QOTSA, Desert Sessions, Eagles of Death Metal).
"Live At Rocket Club" will be coming out on February 19th 2021 via Go Down Records
We are proud to premiere the track OCEANS HEARTS from the upcoming live album.
The band said this about the track:
"Oceans Hearts is a song with vintage rock hints. It is a small pearl that makes us very proud with its elegant and powerful arrangements at the same time. In the finale of this live version, lysergic horizons open up with a long jam session between psychedelia and improvisation. To be listened to the end!"
Eclectic Poison Tones is the new album from Psychedelic Doom/Stoner Rockers JAHBULONG and they play a style of heavy and twisted Doom/Stoner Metal that draws influences from SLEEP, Black Sabbath and Electric Wizard with the band bringing their own vision for all things LOUD and HEAVY in the WEEDIAN World.
This album has a Garage Rock appeal to it and the band thrive on this style of music that’s coming more popular in recent months but it’s a style that I’m becoming a huge fan of and JAHBULONG bring a delicious of rebellious FUZZ to the mix and perhaps paying homage to the mighty Black Sabbath. The atmosphere is quite gloomy and progressive at certain stages of the album. Everything is played “LOW & SLOW” with a haunting gloomy claustrophobic atmosphere dictating the action.
The album has 4 tracks running between 9 mins and 15 mins in length and the band thrive on playing a classic and caustic style of Progressive Doom/Stoner Metal with a 70’s twinge of Classic Rock and Hard Rock being fused with the lyrics and top-notch vocals from Pierpaolo. You may need to give yourself extra time with this album to enjoy the full hypnotic experience as I wasn’t fully sold until I heard this album about 3 or 4 times and then the magic ultimately kicked in for myself.
The opening song – Under The Influence Of The Fool – carries on the classic Black Sabbath sound and moulds it with the dark and twisted imagery that Electric Wizard are known but still standing on it’s own merits and that’s down to the fantastic vocals and heavy sounds the band ultimately conjure up on this song.
JAHBULONG continue this style of music for the next 3 epic songs with second song – The Tower of The Broken Bones – being the standout track on the album. As it starts yet again with a slow punishing riff with eerie vocals being added to tell another gloomy tale and the song just moves along at it’s own wicked pace before the band unleash a powerful sonic riff that draws the listener into the action with a deafening WALL OF FUZZ being built around them.
The Psychedelic elements of this album are good and are used superbly well though there are a couple rough parts where they could have been held back just a bit. However, this is still an album with a rebellious attitude which the band expertly use to their advantage on the final 2 songs that the albums hold with – The Eclipse Of The Empress and The Eremite Tired Out.
JAHBULONG debut album is a thrilling Doom/Stoner Metal spectacle that has a ton of outstanding riffs for the band to make a bigger name for themselves within the scene. Maybe with one or two more album releases under their belt then I can see JAHBULONG preaching their style of Doom/Stoner Metal to audiences on some of the more prestigious Doom/Stoner Metal Festivals and Stages across the globe.
Until then, Eclectic Poison Tones is a great album for JAHBULONG to showcase their talents and expand their fan-base.
Excellent and Highly Recommended.
