Introduce Yourselves: Bob Saliba

What is the name of your band?

Bob Saliba! I was searching for a solo band name for years, and every name on my shortlist was already taken by another band somewhere in the world (just have a look on the Encyclopaedia Metallum website). Friends then suggested I should use my own name.  Stan W. Decker, who is also French proposed a great logo, so I decided to use this option.

What is the genre of music that you play?

It evolves between Heavy, AOR, Prog & Power. You’ll also find some Greek, Celtic or oriental folk sounds in it. It is definitely melodic!

Can you give a brief history of the band of how it came together and where it is today?

At first there was talk of a studio project when John Macaluso (Ark, Malmsteen, Jennifer Batten, TNT...) invited me to sing 3 Ark tracks at a masterclass in Marseille. With all my other parallel groups, I wanted to do something different with a certain number of guests.

So I composed and wrote the songs and then joined John in Italy to record the drums. Finally, each guest sent me their recordings: Roland Grapow (Masterplan , Helloween), Ricky Marx (Now or Never, Pretty Maids), Alessandro Lotta (Rhapsody), Jo Amore (Nightmare, Joe Stump Tower of Babel and my bandmate in Kingcrown), Nicolas Leceux, Ludovic Favro, Roberto Billi and the 2 musicians from the 2 studios where I recorded, mixed and mastered the record: Tom Abrigan and Bruno Pradels.

And 2 years ago, as my project became better known in my area, a concert organiser asked me to be an opener for the band FM, so I put together a local live team made up of musicians who were very close to me: Eric Luvera (my bandmate in Debackliner) and Anthony Saliba (my own brother) on guitars, Seb Chabot on bass (my bandmate from Galderia) and our new drummer PG Silvy. We're doing 2 concerts over the next 2 months, the live team is super motivated and I'm busy putting the finishing touches to the 2nd studio album.

What can people expect from your music?

I expect people to experiment the kind of trip you know while watching a SF movie, that also helps to wonder about big questions as a Human Being: life, faith, ecology, relations and dreams…

What is the best release that folks should check out from your band?

Up to now we only released 1 album entitled Hosts of a Vanished World under my solo project Bob Saliba, available on our label FTF-Music. But I’m particularly prolific when it comes to composing, having just finished recording the 2nd album and finished composing for the 3rd.

Where can people find you on Social Media?

I honestly don’t really like it, fortunately my friends community managers and people of my label FTF-Music are doing a great job on Facebook, Instagram; YouTube and the TikTok things.

Thanks to Bad Dog Promotions for all of the info.

Introduce Yourselves: PRESSURE

What is the name of your band?

Pressure

What is the genre of music that you play?

We do a mix of different genres, when we write we always start with the lyrics first and then choose the rock/metal style that fits the lyrics the best in our opinion. I mean it can be everything from classic heavy metal to power metal.

Can you give a brief history of the band of how it came together and where it is today?

We have been around for like 5 years now. We started out as a cover band, touring all over Sweden before we started writing our own music. To be honest we got a little tired of playing other people’s music and we really got our mojo back when we started to write our own songs. All our songs are very closely connected to our lives, so we really have a strong connection to the songs.

Today we have released 2 full length album and reached over 1.5 million streams on Spotify. We are currently working on our third album. It will be the best album so far from us.

What can people expect from your music?

We try to invent our own subgenre of heavy metal that we call Story metal. We try to combine the diverse style that we have into a consistent metal story telling. You can expect elements of power metal, symphonic metal, heavy metal, thrash metal and a little of everything. We are also fronted by both a male and a female singer which gives us endless possibilities.

What is the best release that folks should check out from your band?

Would be the new upcoming release “All The Things”

Info About New Song All The Things

Sweden’s Pressure is back! The new sexy and compelling hard rock anthem "All The Things" marks the new beginning for Pressure and follows the newly released album "In A Dark Heart We Trust" which up until today has over 250k streams.

"All The Things" was written to reflect on the uncompromising urge that passion and yearning can inflict. When you meet someone and your mind tells you one thing, your heart also wants you to slow down but your body needs something else. Forbidden? Bad? no, just the urge that makes you do all those things, both good and bad, that bring life and meaning and passion to your life, because what would life be without some danger, a little naughty, a little dirty and some good experiences? "All The Things" will help you take a leap into some new and exciting experiences. Let’s live life on the dangerous side a bit!

More Info About The Band

Sweden’s Pressure was formed in early 2018 in Stockholm with the intention of highlighting the different pressures that we all live under but doesn’t talk about or feel troubled about. Pressure has already made an impact on both the national and international scene with their blend of rock, metal, electronic and pop influences that are used and combined in the unique way that they call Story Metal.

Pressure uses their unique melodic ability, razor sharp lyrics and heavy music to deals with the pressures inside, outside, and all around us and of the need and urge to challenge and confront our demons and being able to change our fate.

Fronted by the mystic, mesmerizing Olli Violet and her counterpart the strong, relentless Viking Olof Jönsson they combine their catching melodies, strength, storytelling abilities and unique personalities to stand out from the vast numbers of rock and metal bands today. Alongside with the music this combination proves itself repeatedly. Pressures numbers and stats proves this.

  • Since start Pressure has got over 1.5 million streams on Spotify alone.
  • Pressure records their songs in different countries. Not letting bounderies, pandemics or even war stop them.
  • Pressure has got several awards. Latest was album of the year 2022 by MetalPedia, some other awards are Best rock song by the US radio show ENDIE FIYA, Band of the month on Pipebomb Radio and a lot of chart nr 1s.
  • Pressure has connected with fans in need by recording special versions of their wished songs for birthdays, cancer survivors and other occasions when fans needed their music.
  • Pressure looks for the right sound to tell the story, and with that said being one of the most diverse bands out on the scene.
  • Pressures members has a vast experience, have done over 1000 shows in former bands and on solo projects. Bringing all this experience and knowledge into the band.

Pressures first album “Path of a shadow” (2021) was the first ever released Story Metal album and was well received both by the hard-core rock fans and by media. A concept album but using different languages, styles, genres and music but managed to tie it all together with a story told from your shadow’s perspective.

Pressures second album “In a dark heart we trust” (2022) was the first album with Olli Violet and was a bit heavier and darker than the first album. A much bigger production and a heavier sound that spans from 80's rock to modern metal.
