Genre-splicing northern Italian power trio hijss teams up with The Sleeping Shaman to present their new video "s.w.a.n", taken from their forthcoming sophomore album "hijss" landing this September 18th on Heavy Psych Sounds.
"A high-octane collision of fuzzy grunge riffs, motorik rhythms, post-punk grit, and dizzying space-rock atmosphere." — The Sleeping Shaman
From Northern Italy summits through clouds and airplanes comes hijss. Stimulated by the musical instinct of band leader Lois Lane (guitar & vocals), drummer Maurice's ferocious hits and bassist and keyboardist Pan’s catchy scales, their fearless sonic explorations does not only scratch the surface but goes deep under your skin.
Drawing from grunge rock and post-punk as much as modern space rock, this boundary-free unit propels itself into the stratosphere in a giant blaze of crunch and groove. hijss hit with a fierce punk attitude, seamlessly combining their gritty riffs, pulsating basslines and kraut-infused madness with frontman Lois Lane's Wyndorf-esque croon. The outcome is their own melting pot called "kosmo kraut". Watch their latest video for vicious cycle!
All three band members come from a wide musical background, yet their common denominator is without a doubt their punk attitude. hijss puts genres in the background zapping from punk over blues to space and psychedelic rock. The outcome is a melting pot called "cosmic grunge". That means whatever you want it to mean. Their debut album "stuck on common ground" was released in the spring of 2024 through Heavy Psych Sounds.
Dutch heavy psych and stoner rock trailblazers THE MACHINE release the first single and video taken from their long-anticipated eighth studio album "Another Sun", to be issued on October 2nd via Blues Funeral Recordings (UK and North America), and Awe Records in cooperation with Stickman Records for Europe. Check out "Drop/See" everywhere now!
For the better part of two decades, THE MACHINE have carved out a reputation as one of the most genre-defying acts to emerge from the European underground. Doused in space and soaked in riffs, the power trio of David Eering (guitar/vocals), Chris Both (bass) and Klaas Dijkstra (drums) has continually redefined its sound, balancing a deep-rooted love for stoner rock with excursions into heavy psych, progressive rock, doom, '90s alternative and expansive space rock. As one of the frontrunners of Europe's second wave of stoner and heavy psych, the band established an early landmark with the now cult-classic Solar Corona before continuing to evolve with every release that followed.
Recorded in the fall of 2025 at Evolver Studio, Eering's newly built recording facility in Dordrecht, Another Sun captures what is arguably the strongest incarnation of THE MACHINE to date. Intricate in groove and rich in dynamics, it digs deeper into classic heavy-toned songcraft while leaving ample room for the free-flowing jams that have always been central to the Dutch trio's identity.
Rather than reinventing themselves, THE MACHINE sharpen their unmistakable sonic fingerprint and deliver a powerful, sun-baked and definitely face-melting 45-minute masterpiece. "Another Sun is an important milestone to me personally, after a couple of years with (apparent) reduced activity of the band – it‘s the first record with this great lineup and the first one that I recorded at my own place Evolver Studio. Without the intention to do so, I think we managed to honor a more old school The Machine vibe while also stepping into the future. Can’t wait for this one to be released and to play shows in support of it," says frontman David Eering.
LP and CD preorders are available now via the band's own imprint Awe Records (Europe) as well as Blues Funeral Recordings (UK and North America).
THE MACHINE "Another Sun" Out October 2nd on Blues Funeral Recordings (UK/North America) Awe Records / Stickman Records (Europe)
Already announced with a surprise full-album performance at this year's Roadburn Festival, Another Sun signals the beginning of a new chapter for THE MACHINE. After nearly two decades as one of Europe's most consistently adventurous heavy rock bands, the trio now steps onto a broader international stage, reaffirming their place alongside legendary Dutch acts like 35007, Beaver and 7Zuma7, while finally bringing their expansive blend of stoner rock, heavy psych and space-driven grooves to a much wider audience.

Swedish sludge metallers FIREBREATHER have signed to Heavy Psych Sounds Records for the October 16th release of their new full-length "Blood That I Spill Turns to Fire", and premiere the title track via Doomed & Stoned today!
Check out new track Blood That I Spill Turns To Fire
Firebreather formed in Gothenburg in 2016, rooted in crushing, sludge-doused doom from the very beginning. Never wavering from that commitment across all three of their incendiary full-length releases, the trio has pursued weight with purpose, not as spectacle, nor as an exercise in excess, but as the only language broad enough to hold the emotional reach and sonic heft of their sound.
The music arrives in a way that writes itself with no distance between the words and the sound; they rise from the same cursed ground, and that honesty has become the band's defining force. Firebreather is a band that never postures or asks to be admired for their heaviness- and to see them live is to experience exactly why. Their weight takes on another life entirely. The band’s towering tone and consuming grit don't fill a room so much as alter it. Volume presses against the body before the first lyric lands and riffs arrive like shifting earth. The drums don't drive the songs forward; they anchor them while the line between sound and physical force begins to disappear.
Years spent crossing Europe and North America have only sharpened that purpose, and a decade on with a fourth album on the way via the notorious Heavy Psych Sounds Records, Firebreather remains exactly where it belongs. Head down. Volume up.

Los Angeles-based heavy rock outfit GALE FORCES returns Wednesday, August 5 with its powerful new single, “Diviner,” accompanied by an official music video directed by Arturo Baston.
Dark, searching, and intensely physical, “Diviner” pays homage to the energy of self-reckoning and reflection while acknowledging that profound personal change often requires wisdom and guidance from outside ourselves. Its lyrics express an opening of the heart and a return to one’s true, childlike self, while the music wails and groans as GALE FORCES continues to explore the heavier reaches of its sound.
“This song was inspired by my partner asking me to open my heart and become more vulnerable in our relationship, which was a scary but liberating experience that has allowed for a fuller expression of feelings and fears,” explains frontman Jade Devitt. “One can observe from personal experience the need for this on a wider human scale. The world needs more heart right now.”
“Diviner” is the band’s first release to feature new drummer Dylan Howard, who replaces former drummer Isaac Carpenter (Guns N’ Roses). Howard makes an immediate impact, bringing a forceful and dynamic presence to a track driven by pummeling percussion, distorted guitars, and an atmosphere that shifts between confrontation and catharsis.
The accompanying video, directed by Arturo Baston, blends otherworldly animation and symbolism with the band’s live performance, captured by Los Angeles videographer Manny Valenzuela. The visual stars Sara Veilleux as the dancer-diviner at the center of the song’s journey toward openness and transformation.
Fronted by singer and songwriter Jade Devitt, GALE FORCES has developed a sound rooted in the raw power of ’90s alternative rock while drawing from post-punk, shoegaze, hardcore, and heavy psychedelic music. “Diviner” pushes those influences into an even more visceral space, balancing punishing weight with a hopeful belief in renewal.
What others have said:
“Gale Forces continues to mine the spirit of ’90s Seattle underground while seeking out a modern edge which never lets go of heavy elements.” — Wildfire Music + News
“Gale Forces will connect with those who favor heavy alternative rock that lives on the edges of hardcore punk. Bursting with pummeling percussion, stinging riffs, distortion-soaked breakdowns and thick bass, the songs give Devitt’s vocals a cry-into-the-void quality, with his lyrics aspiring to a certain grandiosity as they range from doomy to hopeful.” — Buzzbands.LA
“Delivers post-punky angular rhythms, lush shoegaze textures, muscular stoner rock riffs, anthemic choruses, and the type of guttural power seen in punk cryptids like Iggy Pop.” — RockNLoad
“Diviner” arrives Wednesday, August 5 on all digital platforms.
Following their acclaimed debut and recent signing to Bonebag Records, Gothenburg occult rock collective Terra Black return with their haunting new single, ‘In Stone’, the first offering from their forthcoming album, Mirage, due for release on 18th September.
Steeped in ancient mystery and crushing atmosphere, ‘In Stone’ explores the unsettling pull of forgotten worlds and the unseen forces that continue to shape the present. The song evokes the feeling of being trapped within something timeless – a world that should have ended long ago yet still refuses to release its grip.
"'In Stone' is about the ominous threat of the hidden and otherworldly,” explains the band. “It’s being stuck in something ancient, like you're part of a world that already ended a long time ago, but it's still not finished with you. Old worlds, old beliefs, and everything beneath the surface that refuses to disappear. Forever merged in stone."
Written and recorded over the course of three years, Mirage is Terra Black's most ambitious and immersive work to date. Travelling from roots buried deep beneath the earth, through the ruins of forgotten civilizations and into the silence of space, the album explores shifting states of existence where reality, memory and illusion become increasingly difficult to separate.
Recorded live by the band in Gothenburg, Mirage captures the raw immediacy of Terra Black's performances. Rather than polishing away imperfections, the band embraced natural room ambience and microphone bleed, allowing the recording to retain an honest, organic character that mirrors the weight and intensity of the music itself.
Drawing from atmospheric doom, occult rock and stoner traditions, Terra Black combines towering riffs with haunting vocals, powerful choral arrangements and primal darkness. Inspired by nature, mythology, ancient beliefs and the mysterious corners of human imagination, the album moves effortlessly between the familiar and the unknowable. Like the illusion from which it takes its name, the album constantly shifts perspective, inviting listeners ever deeper into its enigmatic world.
Compared to their previous work, Mirage presents a heavier, darker and more visceral sonic landscape, where ancient forces, forgotten civilizations and cosmic vastness collide.
Since forming in 2020, Terra Black have steadily built a reputation for immersive songwriting and commanding live performances. With Mirage, the band expands both its sonic scope and artistic vision, delivering its most confident and fully realised work to date.
Mirage, the brand-new album by Terra Black will be released via Bonebag Records on 18th September | Pre-order

Welsh doom metal trio GOAT MAJOR is set to return with their sophomore full-length "Death Comes Twice" this October 23rd on Ripple Music and unleash their new single "Wheels of Gold" today!
Welsh heavy trio Goat Major are set to return with their crushing sophomore album, Death Comes Twice, the follow-up to their 2024 debut Ritual. The songwriting process ignited immediately after the last record, with guitarist Jammie Arnold channeling a relentless flow of riff demos that provided the foundation for Simon Bonwick (drums) and Tom Shortt (vocals/bass) to build upon. They comment, "When the three of us gathered in the jam room, that’s where the true magic happened. We threw ourselves into every riff, every groove, with no detail too small or too grand. This new record reveals a deeper, more melodic side of us, all the while remaining heavy and intense. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it!"
Recording once again with engineer Tom Chaloner in rural Pembrokeshire, the band captured the raw energy of their live chemistry by tracking together in a room without click tracks. The result is a record that delves deeper into melody while maintaining their signature heaviness, augmented by experimental layers of percussion, harmonies, and progressive synthesis soundscapes.
Lyrically, Death Comes Twice navigates the dark narrow passageways of belief, tradition, and existential crisis. Continuing the occult and cosmic themes of their debut, the album shifts between dark fantasy and internal turmoil, exploring themes of persecution under dogmatic rule, the spiritual toll of ancient rituals, and the clash between divine creation and modern technology.
About the new single "Wheels of Gold", the band says: "Wheels of Gold brings imagery of the biblical depictions of angels. Imagining them into our new technological age and asking if they would still serve their elemental ancient god, or revolt and destroy that god in order to serve new artificial machines of creation."
New album "Death Comes Twice" - Out October 23rd on Ripple Music (LP/CD/digital)
Emerging from the mystic landscapes of Pembrokeshire, Wales, Goat Major formed in 2020 as a strict DIY power trio. Drawing from the heaviness of Electric Wizard and the raw fury of Motörhead, their sound is a fuzz-drenched, controlled chaos that's both primal and profound. They shattered expectations with their 2024 debut Ritual via Ripple Music, a gothic romp through ancient secrets and dark whispers. Arnold's riffs swing between sludgy weight and punk urgency, Bonwick's drumming is relentless and dynamic, while Shortt's growling bass underpins hauntingly melodic vocals that push atmosphere and ambition without losing their doom-ridden core.
The band tore across the UK, sharing stages with Conan, Thunder Horse and many more, while leaving their doomy mark at Desertfest London and Stoomfest. Their blend of infectious melody and sinister atmosphere struck a deep chord, cementing them as one of the underground's most promising emerging forces. Now in 2026, they reunite with Ripple Music for their eagerly awaited second opus, Death Comes Twice. Digging deeper than Ritual, the new album weaves potent melodies and razor-sharp hooks through themes of death, medieval rituals, religious persecution, and generational hexes. It's a masterclass in inventive darkness—haunting, powerful, and daring you to climb in.

Ripple Music welcomes Italian psychedelic stoner rockers HUMULUS to their roster for the release of their new album "Smuggler's Cave" this October 9th!
Smuggler’s Cave marks HUMULUS’ fifth LP and their second outing with vocalist/guitarist Thomas Mascheroni. Following 2023's Flowers Of Death, the band spent two years traversing Europe’s stages, and it was in the cracks between tours that the improvisations for this record took root. True to form, the band returned to the rehearsal room for marathon sessions, capturing hours of raw interplay, isolating the sparks and forging new songs from the embers.
On this album, those riffs hit harder and land with greater certainty than before, yet HUMULUS’s sonic hallmark remains intact: a deft pivot from rhythmic, classic stoner crunch into more psychedelic and introspective depths. As always, lyrics arrived after the music, with the title track served as a thread for the rest of the record, leading the listener through mysterious settings, tales of wizards, cemetery dreams, damned souls and the shade of dark forests. A record that's heavy, haunted and more than ever unapologetically HUMULUS.
It will be released on October 9th on LP, CD and digital, with preorders available now from Ripple Music.
New album "Smuggler's Cave" - Out October 9th on Ripple Music (LP/CD/digital)
Humulus is an Italian psych-stoner power trio formed in Brescia, Italy in 2009. Born from the heavy lineage of Kyuss, Karma to Burn and Orange Goblin, they quickly built a reputation across southern Europe with their crushing debut on Go Down Records.
A lineup shift in 2015 flipped the script. New frontman Andrea Bellicini pushed the band into trippier, more dynamic territory through longer songs, richer atmospheres and a sound that outgrew stoner orthodoxy. The years that followed saw Humulus touring non-stop with European festival runs (Freak Valley, Desertfest Belgium, Up In Smoke), and a string of acclaimed LPs that veered from doom-laced riffage to sprawling psychedelic meditation. Another mutation came in late 2022 with the arrival of Thomas Mascheroni, reigniting the band’s chemistry and leading to a fresh creative burst. They hit the road again, sharing stages with heavyweights like Colour Haze and Monkey3, while steadily forging new material.
When founder Giorgio Bonacorsi stepped back in 2026, the remaining core members enlisted Fabio Giacomini to complete the lineup and write their most ambitious work yet, to be released in the fall 2026 on Ripple Music.
US heavy rock trio MOON DESTROYS — featuring current and former members of Torche, Abrams and Royal Thunder present their thunderous new video "Missing Wish" exclusively today. Their new album "OMNI" will be released on September 4th via Blues Funeral Recordings.
MOON DESTROYS are set to return with their new album OMNI, a shimmering blend of post-grunge, riff-doom and driving psychedelia that encapsulates the expansive soundscapes of their previous album She Walks by Moonlight into more focused and immediate cuts, delivering the breadth of the band's genre-pushing abilities in hook-driven, quickfire fashion. "OMNI is a universe built upon constantly shifting sands, written by three souls who still believe heavy rock can save this damned world," says guitarist Juan Montoya.
W️atch New Video "MISSING WISH" below:
Fresh off a breakout year that saw them tour with Elder, Dozer and The Sword, founding members Juan Montoya (ex-Torche) and Evan Diprima (Gold Pyramid, ex-Royal Thunder) ushered in 2026 by welcoming Zach Amster (Abrams) on lead vocals and rhythm guitar. Energized and hungry, the thunderous trio is now ready to enter their new chapter and fully unleash their infectious brand of heaviness upon the world, as demonstrated through their catchy latest single Flowers.
About the song "Missing Wish", guitarist and vocalist Zach Amster says, “We needed a couple more tracks to round out the record, so Evan dug into his archives and sent over the instrumental for what became 'Missing Wish'. Even though the demo was a few years old, I was instantly hooked by its sheer heaviness and the open space it left for vocals. Vocally, I wanted to push my boundaries by blending raw grit with accessible melodies. Lyrically, 'Missing Wish' dives straight into the heavy pain of fractured trust and the ghost of a potential that can never exist.”
New album "OMNI" - Out September 4th on Blues Funeral Recordings
Formed by legendary guitarist Juan Montoya (a founding member of Torche) and drummer Evan Diprima (Gold Pyramid, Royal Thunder), MOON DESTROYS released their first EP Maiden Voyage in 2020. The 5-song debut featured contributions from Troy Sanders (Mastodon) and Bryan Richie (The Sword) and laid a foundation that would come fully into focus in April 2025, when the band was thrust into the limelight supporting Elder just as they were self-releasing their debut full-length She Walks By Moonlight. This shimmering blend of post-rock, riff-doom and shoegazy psychedelia stood as a cinematic and otherworldly journey from a band who breeze into the environs of My Bloody Valentine, The Cult, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Ride.
Capping off 2025, MOON DESTROYS was invited to support Swedish icons Dozer on their long-awaited US tour, while Blues Funeral Recordings gave She Walks By Moonlight a proper worldwide reissue in October, just in time for a coveted run of dates with The Sword. Their next full-length will be released in September 2026, with touring in the US and overseas to follow.

Manchester’s heavy psych cosmonauts Dead Sea Apes return on the 18th September 2026 with their new album, Psychic Tension. A sprawling cosmic journey, the record arrives via a transatlantic partnership between Cardinal Fuzz and Feeding Tube Records.
Artist: Dead Sea Apes Title: Psychic Tension Label: Cardinal Fuzz / Feeding Tube Records Release Date: 18 September 2026 Format: Vinyl / CD / DL
Dead Sea Apes are back with a fierce new album Psychic Tension – an urgent soundtrack for the nerve-shredding times we live in. Our collective psyche is under attack, reeling from the chaos of a modern world under siege: from war, death, destruction and climate catastrophe to political decay, media manipulation, growing inequality and the rank depravity of the so-called elite. Do we overload ourselves with anxiety, vent our frustration at others, make token gestures to ease our conscience, or just try to carry on regardless? Dead Sea Apes have wrestled these dilemmas – this Psychic Tension – into sonic/musical form, creating catharsis from the chaos.
Psychic Tension picks up where the previous album Rewilding left off, carrying forward the momentum of massive riffs, juggernaut rhythms and squalling sonic overload. Noise-rock, Japanese psych, minimal dub and Electric-era Miles are all part of the mix: each member of Dead Sea Apes brings decades of musical exploration to bear on the music. The iterative repetition of Can meets the telepathic mind-meld of the power trio; the deceptive simplicity of Crazy Horse is pulled through the sonics of PSF Records; the live-in-the-practice-room energy is bolstered by layered landscapes of sound - from ethereal echoes to feedback drones to transistor-torturing lead lines.
Dead Sea Apes have always followed their own path, the music instinctively wired into the world around them. On Psychic Tension, they have once again cooked up a sound that is wholly their own, speaking directly to the turmoil within us and surrounding us in these wild times.
Biography

Much of their catalogue has found a home on the widely celebrated UK psychedelic label Cardinal Fuzz, alongside stateside partnerships with the legendary Feeding Tube Records. Doom/Post-Metal collective DDENT are releasing their upcoming album Feeding The Void's Luster on July 24th 2026 and to get you into the mood for premiering the new video / single for Longue, obscure et triste lune thanks to the cool folks over at Purple Sage PR.
Captured live in the studio, this volcanic five-tracker pulls from previous material, twisting and rearranging it until the songs become a completely different beast. Heavier, louder, more towering and cathartic. With hardcore/punk drummer Alain Minot (ex-20 Seconds Falling Man) on board and blackened vocals from bassist Nicolas Zivkovich (Les Tigres du Futur, Fiend, Krv), DDENT's trademark hypnotic post-metal gets infused with an exhilarating tension and earth-shattering firepower on "Feeding the Void's Luster".
About the band
DDENT formed in the early 2010s as the instrumental brainchild of guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Louis Lambert and drummer Marc Le Saux. First EP Chien Noir was released in 2014, which quickly led to the addition of live musicians to the project. This milestone laid the foundations for a dark post-rock sound that induces a gripping spiritual and sensory journey. While 2017 debut LP آكتئاب narrated the introspective journey of a poet, their sophomore album TORO (2018) dealt with the search for truth through creation. It is safe to say that literature and philosophy have always been a centerpiece of DDENT's music.
In 2019, DDENT performed at Europe's largest metal festival Hellfest, tantalizing both the audience and critics with their bewitching performance. As a result, Louis Lambert started working on the follow-up album Couvre-sang — a massive and poetic post-metal 11-track awash with dark, elegant atmospheres and intriguing thematics, described as "pure instrumental industrial bliss, a living breathing beast, crafted superbly, with real emotional levels" by The Sleeping Shaman. In 2021, Lambert kept working as a solo act and released a cinematic single and video entitled "VOLEMOI". 2023 saw the talented songwriter's return with the Ex Auditu 2xEP on Chien Noir, then entering hiatus... until now. About the album
DDENT returns this summer with a new lineup and a new album: “Feeding the Void's Luster”. Captured in two takes, with no metronome or samples, this volcanic five-tracker finds the quartet pulling from older material, twisting and rearranging it until they become a completely different beast. Heavier, louder, more towering, more cathartic.
To embody this renewal, DDENT welcomes new drummer Alain Minot (ex-20 Seconds Falling Man), whose hardcore and punk style infuses the tracks with some new tension. Blackened vocals from bassist Nicolas Zivkovich (Les Tigres du Futur, Fiend, Krv) also make an appearance on most tracks for the first time, without ever overshadowing the instrumental part — the cornerstone of their hypnotic post-metal.
Whereas band founder Louis Lambert used to write the bulk of the material, DDENT now operates as a full-blown collective. This record marks the first step in a new process, a way to reunite the band through playing together. Next up: an album consisting entirely of new material, work on which will begin in the fall.

Swedish forest rockers BESVÄRJELSEN unveil the beautiful lyric video 'Drifters on a Quiet Stream'. This power ballad comes in watercolour style with images bearing strange fruit as inspired by the album cover of their forthcoming third full-length "Till Glömskan Ad Oblivionem" (Swedish and Latin for: "Into Oblivion").
"Till Glömskan Ad Oblivionem" is scheduled for release on August 28, 2026, via Magnetic Eye Records. The album is available for pre-order here: https://spkr.store/collections/besvarjelsen
BESVÄRJELSEN comment: "'Drifters on a Quiet Stream' had the working title 'Elton' as Elton John was one of the musical inspirations for this song", drummer Erik Bäckwall reveals. "The intro and main riff was originally intended to be a part of another song. When I got our former bass player Johan to listen to the riff, he rather advised me to create a completely new song from this part. I am really glad now that I did that."
Lea Amling Alazam adds: "This track explores the ever-present companion of the self – the voice that follows you through life, both to comfort and to critique", the vocalist explains. "It is the quiet presence on your shoulder. When writing those lyrics, I revisited an old notebook and found a phrase I had once scribbled down: '...my ghost and I'. I'm not sure where I first came across this idea, but it stayed with me. It felt like a beautiful and honest way to describe living alongside your own anxiety, and I knew from the start that I wanted to build something around it."

Swedes are supposed to be cool, and musically, BESVÄRJELSEN sure live up to that stereotype in the best possible way. What the self-proclaimed forest rockers deliver on their third full-length "Till Glömskan Ad Oblivionem" is so cool, in fact, that it's a hot early candidate for rock album of the year.
The 'forest rock' moniker is the Swedes' tongue-in-cheek answer to the term 'desert rock', which stylistically provides a great starting point to describe their particular musical brand. Being surrounded not by an abundance of sand but trees in their home province of Dalarna, it was also an obvious choice. On "Till Glömskan Ad Oblivionem", BESVÄRJELSEN keep a profound punk-infused attitude, but have broadened their sound with a wide variety of sonic colours including blues, ska, metal, jazz and everything around and in between as long as it fits the mood of the song.
Add exceptional vocalist Lea Amling Alazam, who developed her passion for punk and stoner rock at the local skate park when she was just 13 years old, to the band's plethora of riveting hooks and riffs, and you get an album that feels fresh and ready to deliver surprises for months if not years to come. If there is any justice, "Till Glömskan Ad Oblivionem" should make BESVÄRJELSEN as famous as the iconic wooden Dala horses that every tourist who visits the country takes home to put on their shelves.
That BESVÄRJELSEN were on the road to greatness became apparent on their previous album, "Atlas" (2022). This record received the prestigious Swedish Manifestgalan Award for "Metal Album of the Year" by the Swedish Independent Music Producers and partners, which crowned a string of excellent reviews around the globe.
BESVÄRJELSEN were co-founded by guitarists and vocalists Andreas Bajer and Staffan Vinrot in 2014. Their musical vision was based on the idea to channel the spirit and traditions of the vast Dalarna forests into a contemporary urban context. On this ancient crossroads of Norse and Finnish cultures, the echoes of runes and gods, shamans and spirits still linger. While drawing heavy inspiration from local lore, mysticism, and the dark, old musical traditions of their homeland, the band name was found in the old Swedish word for "conjuring": BESVÄRJELSEN.
While the band's story has its roots in the past of the land, the present came boldly knocking to demand its due. With the discovery of Lea Amling Alazam and her captivating vocals, the plot took a fascinating twist: She had grown up with her feet in more than one world. Accordingly, the charismatic singer added a fresh approach by embracing melodies and phrases of the grunge and emo sounds that defined her youth as well as African and Middle Eastern music with characteristic bluesy undertones.
In 2015, BESVÄRJELSEN released their debut EP "Villfarelser", followed by the "Exil" EP in 2016. At the time, former DOZER and GREENLEAF drummer Erik Bäckwall joined the line-up as a permanent member. Although both EPs were self-financed and released with minimal promotion, they ended up well-received, and even got airplay on Swedish national radio.
The Swedes' debut full-length "Vallmo" (2018) merged crushing riffs and storming drums with increasingly sophisticated melodies and thoughtful themes, even earning the band a festival slot opening for DEEP PURPLE. This paved the way for BESVÄRJELSEN to record their sophomore album "Atlas" with producer and drummer Karl Daniel Lidén (GREENLEAF, DOZER, CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX) in 2021.
With "Till Glömskan Ad Oblivionem", BESVÄRJELSEN have conjured 'Into Oblivion' twice, in both Swedish and Latin, but the spellbinding five-piece also deliver a cathartic rock album that will rank among the finest heavy releases of the genre and beyond in 2026

French doom/grunge metal power-trio Clegane crank every amp up to 11 and drag grunge straight into the darkest depths of doom on their crushing new single, “Sun Decay”.
Loud. Gloomy as hell. Suffocating and cathartic in equal measure.
“Sun Decay” feels like wandering aimlessly through the streets of Paris on a sweltering summer day — the heat closing in, the air running out, and every attempt to find meaning leading deeper into the void.
Built on saturated, granular riffs, a deep, punishing rhythm section and raw, weathered vocals, the track follows a slow loss of control: a life stripped of values and purpose, decaying into inertia, isolation and collapse.
A life like a rotting sun.
The single offers the first glimpse of Clegane’s new album, Ocean of Black Thoughts, out October 2 via ALMOST FAMOUS label (POINT MORT...).
... For the record...
Formed in 2015, Clegane have spent the past decade carving out a singular path between the disillusioned weight of ’90s grunge and the crushing gravity of modern doom. Instinctive, minimalist and deeply introspective, the French trio have built their identity around saturated, granular riffs, deep drums and raw, weathered vocals — turning the darker corners of human existence into music that feels both brutally physical and intensely personal.
That trajectory began with their self-titled debut EP in 2017, followed by 'Funeral at Sea' and a split with Father Merrin in 2018, 'White of the Eye' in 2022 and a split with Fatima in 2023. Across each release, Clegane have progressively expanded their sound without abandoning its primitive core, pushing beyond doom and grunge while preserving the tension and emotional weight that have defined them from the beginning.
That evolution has unfolded just as fiercely on stage. From underground squats in Switzerland to the Purple Stage at Hellfest in 2025, Clegane have developed a reputation for visceral, immersive performances that drag audiences under before pulling them back into the darkness.
Now, 'Ocean of Black Thoughts' marks the band’s most ambitious transformation yet. Breaking down their own stylistic boundaries through richer drumming, deeper work on effects and new vocal nuances, the album moves from eruptions of rage to regret-soaked contemplation — while remaining rooted in the raw, instinctive force that has always driven Clegane.
"I guarantee you, it will be jammed firmly in your head for days on end." -- Metal Injection
“An instant earworm.” — Metal Sucks
“As ridiculously awesome as their big, dumb moniker would imply… churning out lumbering cascades of clobbering, trucker hat riffage that toe a slobbery line between Dinosaur Jr., Primus, Pantera and ZZ Top.” – Decibel Magazine
"Epically catchy... Imagine the ear-wormy fuzz-rock riffage of Dinosaur Jr. if it was played on an eight-string guitar with super heavy low-end." -- Revolver Magazine

CA$H GRAB is still in production and will be announced in more detail at a later date. For now, dig in to the three bite-sized anthems from the album so far, "The Disappearing Man", "Bough Down" and "Peaches" on all DSPs HERE.
