Review

Everything In Sight is the new album from Psychedelic Stoner/Surf Rockers Snake Mountain Revival. This album sees the band bring an ALL THEM WITCHES flavour to the Surf Rock genre with sections of Stoner Rock, Alt Rock and Psych Rock to allow the album to have a mysterious quality. It’s quite daring in places and has an aggressive “POPPY” sound but still being quite heavy on the later stages of the album.

The album is quite hard to describe with Snake Mountain Revival living in their very own surreal 60s and 70s based Stoner Rock world with flashes of Post-Punk attitude with FUZZY levels of aggression that I didn’t initially expect from this album. The heavy guitars are quite jagged with Ryan’s vocals having a “storyteller” persona to them.

THe songs on the album are all quite different to each other and don’t follow a particular pattern. This allows the album to be quite original in places especially when the quieter Psychedelic parts morph into something different. The lyrics are excellent from start to finish with Snake Mountain Revival fully embracing the 60s/70s Hard Rock influence they have at their creative disposal.

Everything In Sight can be quite therapeutic with some of the songs with the lush Surf Rock grooves and even Middle Eastern trippy vibes that do remind me of All Them Witches at their magical best.

Standout songs on the album are: Satellite Ritual, Just A Feeling, Graveyard Grove, Everything In Sight and Valley Of Madness. I had a more emotional connection to these songs with the band delivering a multitude of different styles of sounds all remaining under the banner of Psych Stoner Rock but with that extra Surf Rock flavour to keep everything emotionally addictive.

The production is excellent and handled by lead guitarist Zack Trowbridge. Zack shows a fine ear for detail on this album with even the softer moments having a real dynamic presence around them.

The album is being released on Ripple Music Imprint - Rebel Waves Records. So with Ripple Music involved, the album's seal of quality is assured for all fans of Stoner Rock to fully embrace at their own leisure.

Everything In SIght is a thrilling spectacle of Psychedelic Stoner Rock with plenty of surprises along the way to keep you brilliantly entertained.
