Instrumental Stoner Metallers MOTSUS Announce Details For New Album ATLAS Released By POLDERRECORDS

West-Flemish instrumental stoner trio MOTSUS return with their highly anticipated sophomore album “Atlas” - a bold evolution that pushes the Oudenburg trio deeper into doom and atmospheric territory than ever before.

Recorded at Dunk!Studio’s in Zottegem and mixed & mastered by legendary producer Karl Daniel Lidén (Dozer, Greenleaf, A Swarm Of The Sun, ..), Atlas delivers five tracks of crushing instrumental polder rock.

The album spans from the hypnotic seven-minute journey “Driver” to the nearly ten-minute epic “Exploder Pt. II” with the razor-sharp “Short Notice” (a long-time live staple finally captured on record) clocking in at just over two minutes.

ATLAS drops Friday, January 30th, 2026, via Polderrecords, followed by an album release show on Saturday, January 31st at Muziekclub 4AD in Diksmuide with support from Ghent riff masters Idealus Maximus.

Doom/Stoner Metallers FLAMEBEARER Announce Debut Album BRAZEN And New Song SEED IS SOWN

Formed late 2021 Flamebearer are Doom-tinged all out heavy metal featuring members of 1968, Decomposed, Oak, Mourn, Blood Island Raiders, Brule and Mocho Diablo.Fronted by Andy Valiant formally of Oak and current 1968 frontman, Flamebearer are inspired by classic 70s rock, 80s metal, all the way from The Cult to Cathedral.

The hard rocking quartet release their debut album 'Brazen' on 24th April 2024 (independent). Pre-empting this Flamebearer are currently releasing singles from the LP, the latest being Seed Is Sown.

'The energy of songs on 'Brazen' has come very naturally to us as really we just wanted to get people moving in the crowd and wake people back up a bit after time apart during lockdown. It's fully organic, very honest and a lot of fun to play. Generally we write lyrics that are more about lifting people up and making a person feel 10 foot tall rather than beaten down and racked with worry and overthinking' - Andy Valiant

An interesting fact is that Valiant actually first saw Big Al, Flamebearer's lead guitarist back in 2002 when he was only 16 and Big Al was playing in Blood Island Raiders supporting Orange Goblin at the Peel in Kingston. Valiant was so young he could still get a child bus ticket. Little did he know that he would be in a band with him 20 years later.

The band are currently building a fanbase within the stoner rock arena but are looking to broaden their horizons with their high energy and extremely upbeat performances.

Flamebearer kicked off 2023 in style by releasing their raucous version on the infamous ‘Wild Child’ by WASP, further establishing their 80s metal influences but also brazen attitude to playing ‘dated’ songs with passion and vigour.

The band performed Wild Child to much excitement at the now firmly established Masters Of The Riff festival at Oslo East London in March. Wild Child is still performed to much delight at Flamebearer shows to this day.

Italian Psych Rockers FRANK NEVER DIES Unveil "Red Moon Rising" Full Album Details

Italian Psych Rockers FRANK NEVER DIES have officially unveiled the comprehensive album particulars for their highly anticipated sophomore album, 'Red Moon Rising,' slated to debut via Argonauta Records on March 29, 2024.

Previously, the band released an outstanding official music video for "Red Moon Rising": 

Compared to their debut LP (Behind the Paradox, Blood Rock Records), the sound created by the band is now less melodic and presents more free structures that recall 70' psychedelia. Inspirations from jazz, trip-hop, funk, and grunge merge with it.

The result of this eclectism creates a mysterious and enigmatic atmosphere, following the main themes of the LP, related to the red moon as worshipped or feared symbol: before it, the humanity reveals its most irrational aspect, between madness and adoration.

The first LP was completely instrumental, in Red Moon Rising instead Mirko Giuseppone and Simona Ferrucci sing in some tracks.

The drum's sound of Luca Zannini is direct, sometimes aggressive, tribal and lead role all the time.

Mirko's guitar, compared to the first LP, has a rough and vivid sound, frequently played through wah-wah pedal. The inspiration is between rock & blues and grunge.

The vintage's sound of Simona's synths contributes to the creation of a '70 touch. The bass frequently becomes the third melodic line in the tracks, with unconventional rhythm patterns and effects.

The composition of Red Moon Rising started in 2020. After three years, the drum and voice recording, mixing and mastering were made by Fabio Ferri (renowned sound engineer and former drummer of Il Balletto di Bronzo), in his studio in Roma Millenium Audio Recording.

Guitars, bass and synths were recorded in Rome at Blue Bird Studio of Simona Ferrucci and Mirko Giuseppone.

Swedish Sludge/Doom Metallers Slôdder Premiere New Song/Video For 46 From Upcoming New Album

“46”, the first single from “A Mind Designed to Destroy Beautiful Things,” gives us a bleak look into a dark future, Slôdder's frenzied empest from their eyes of the struggle that is life. Mental breakdowns, addiction, hopelessness, hate and anger play central thematic roles throughout their upcoming album "A Mind Designed To Destroy Beautiful Things" and are channeled nonstop in the pummeling two minutes and three seconds of “46” by the dejected, deranged screams of enigmatic front man Henrik Lindkvist. From the feral fusion of this band’s ferociously dissonant parts, a bombastic arrangement with the devil himself emerges through scraping riffs and blindingly urgent low end, and we encounter and an exorcism of sorts, but also a seance, and a ritual all at once.

Quoted by the band as “an ode to Wermland, our home turf. The heartland of everything that is Slôdder. We could not exist anywhere else; this is who we are. It is a beautiful and tranquil place, but below the surface.it’s a whole different animal. Its where we find our inspiration, sanity, and strength..” we’re dragged kicking and screaming into a visceral hellscape of tarnished reputations, broken hearts, and wretched
souls without hope of redemption as hard as one might try.

Recorded from start to finish in 19 and a half hours at Sweden’s Studio.Underjord with the great Joona Hassinen, “A Mind Designed to Destroy.Beautiful Things” was produced live and raw, with the intention of capturing the sheer power, energy, and bestial emotion you encounter from Slôdder at a live gig. Continuous noise, no pause, no rest, left intentionally rough and unpolished as life itself can be. Make no mistake, there’s method in the madness and Slôdder’s misanthropic vision meets its gruesome mark with no hesitation. 

The band almost physically erupts with its decidedly dirty sound full of carnal filth and destructive fury, each member bringing searing heat the Slôdder sound.which can only be described as bludgeoning, hardcore sludge,.precariously traversing the world of the living and the dead giving.toxic levels of destitute soul wreckage somewhere between “who gives a fuck” and “fuck around and find out.”

Psych/Acid/Fuzz/Kraut Rockers The Silver Linings Release New Song/Lyric Video For Cosmic Excursions From Upcoming New Album via Spinda Records

After the release of the song "Patient M" earlier in September and announcing last week that they'll be part of the line-up of the next edition of Alhambra Monkey Week in Spain, Andalusian psych band The Silver Linings is putting out on Friday "Cosmic excursions", second single of their upcoming debut album 'Pink Fish', available on October 11 through Spinda Records.

On this occasion, the band offers a face much closer to 60's psychedelia and space rock that will delight fans of bands such as Rolling Stones, Hawkwind, Acid Mess or Andalusian-psych-rock band Atavismo.

Formed in Malaga (Spain) in 2021, The Silver Linings self-released their debut EP ‘TSL’ back in May 2023. Just a few days later they were signed up by the indie record label Spinda Records (Moura, Fin del Mundo, Moundrag…) and went into the studio once again to record additional music to re-launch everything as their first full-length album in October 2023.

The Silver Linings are highly influenced by 20th century sci-fi, Moorcock's literature, Moebius' illustrations, Tarkovsky's cinema, Jodorovsky's work and the poetry of the beat generation; in addition to natural landscapes of Andalusia such as El Torcal in Antequera, the Gorafe desert, the dunes of Bolonia and the Strait of Gibraltar. Due to the type of music they make and the fact that they reside in the south of Spain, they could be part of the new wave of psychedelic rock in Andalusia, along with groups such as Atavismo, Híbrido , Lunavieja, Medicina, Santo Rostro, Mía Turbia, Gu Vo or DMBK; although their sound - closer to acid-psych-space-kraut-rock - makes one think more of bands like Causa Sui, Hawkwind or Can.

Yawning Balch is the amalgam of guitarist Bob Balch (Fu Manchu, Big Scenic Nowhere, ex-Minotaur, Slower, and so on), and the current incarnation of Gary Arce-led desert rock progenitors Yawning Man, which includes Arce on guitar alongside drummer Bill Stinson and bassist Billy Cordell. Their debut record "Volume One" is part of a two-volume set carved out of a single five-hour jam between Balch and the trio. Be ready to embrace a dreamy and psychedelic instrumental journey as you've rarely experienced!

About this new project, guitarist Bob Balch comments: "In November of 2022 I went out to Joshua Tree for a day of jamming with the guys in Yawning Man with the intention of calling it “Yawning Balch.” No riffs were planned. We just plugged in and played. The only discussion beforehand was that Gary Arce and I wanted to mess with tons of guitar pedals. I knew that while we were jamming it sounded great, but it wasn’t until I got home and listened to it all that I realized we had something special. It’s hard to believe that we jammed for five hours and got two full-length LPs and then some out of it. Every player killed it on these recordings and I’m beyond grateful to have my name involved with this legendary band. Fingers crossed they invite me back out annually for more jam sessions. I hope you enjoy these jams and please use responsibly."

Album Premiere of DRAKEN New Self Titled Album due out on Majestic Mountain Records

Majestic Mountain Records is psyched to announce the official release of Draken, the self-titled debut album from Norway’s most exciting and new prog rock power trio.

Formed in 2018 by Spidergawd/Orango bassist Hallvard Gaardløs and close friend Andre Drage, Draken is a rock band with an appetite for reinvention. Recently becoming a fully-fledged power triumvirate with the addition of jazz/progressive virtuoso, Even Hermansen of Bushman’s Revenge on guitar, the trio dig on the Metals and Hard Rocks of old, and in doing so channel the inspiration they unearth into something truly unique.

Recorded during the cold winter months with producer Vegard Liverød at Røffsound Studios on the northern outskirts of Oslo, the energy and synergy shared between the band shines through. One room, three musicians, every scrap of equipment and gear jammed tightly together. Spirited and raw in form, Draken is a testament to the very sessions and talents that spawned this intriguing collective. As Hallvard explains, “We were really excited and eager to prove ourselves. All three of us are very passionate about the music and very vocal about our opinions, so the heat was definitely on!”
