SIGNO ROJO UNLEASHES CRUSHING NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO “I'LL SEE YOU THERE” OUT NOW VIA MAJESTIC MOUNTAIN RECORDS

Karlshamn, Sweden’s underground heavyweights Signo Rojo return with a thunderous new statement in the form of their latest single, “I’ll see you there” with an accompanying musicvideo set for release on July 31, 2026 via Majestic Mountain Records .

For over fifteen years, Signo Rojo have been grinding their way through the depths of the Swedish underground, forging a sound that refuses to sit still. Blending the oppressive weight of sludge and doom with the raw urgency of hardcore and punk with a touch of 70’s progressive rock, the band has built a reputation the old-fashioned way: DIY, no shortcuts, no compromises.

With “I’ll see you there” Signo Rojo delivers a mammoth, riff-driven assault packed with spine-rattling low end and towering melodies. And in the background there is a lingering melancholy and sense of loss that shines through to complement the lyrical content.

Lyrically, “I’ll see you there” deals with grief and loss and the horror of being forced to watch someone wither away and being powerless to stop it. Something we all want to scream about at some point in our lives being made painfully clear in the crescending chorus.

Fans of Neurosis, Mastodon and Baroness will feel right at home, but make no mistake, Signo Rojo aren’t chasing anyone’s shadow. They’ve carved out their own lane and they’re driving straight through it.

In the band’s own words:

“‘I’ll see you there comes from a really personal place and even though it hurts to talk about these things, it's important. Even heavy music should be able to be vulnerable.”

Behind the scenes, the band kept things tight and true to their roots. The single was produced by Signo Rojo themselves, with mixing and mastering handled by Elias Mellberg, giving the track a raw but massive sonic punch that feels both deliberate and unfiltered.

This release continues the build up for the upcoming album that is sure to blow the roof off of the underground scene.

SIGNO ROJO UNLEASHES CRUSHING NEW SINGLE “GROWTH” OUT NOW VIA MAJESTIC MOUNTAIN RECORDS

Karlshamn, Sweden’s underground heavyweights Signo Rojo return with a thunderous new statement in the form of their latest single, “Growth,” set for release on April 17, 2026 via Majestic Mountain Records .

For over fifteen years, Signo Rojo have been grinding their way through the depths of the Swedish underground, forging a sound that refuses to sit still. Blending the oppressive weight of sludge and doom with the raw urgency of hardcore and punk, the band has built a reputation the old-fashioned way: DIY, no shortcuts, no compromises. Their output may come slow, but when it lands, it hits like a collapsing glacier.

With “Growth,” Signo Rojo deliver exactly what you’d expect and then some. This is a mammoth, riff-driven assault packed with spine-rattling low end, towering melodies, and the kind of atmosphere that sticks to your ribs. Fans of Neurosis , Big Business , and Baroness will feel right at home, but make no mistake, Signo Rojo aren’t chasing anyone’s shadow. They’ve carved out their own lane and they’re driving straight through it.

Lyrically, “Growth” takes a hard look at modern society’s obsession with self-improvement. Instead of buying into the glossy, instant-gratification version being sold everywhere, the band flips the script. The track digs into how personal development has been commodified, turned into something people think they can purchase, hack, or shortcut. The result? More often than not, people end up stuck, misled, or worse, exploited by systems that prey on vulnerability.

In the band’s own words:

“‘Growth’ is a mammoth-stomping slab of doom-infused sludge that delivers spine-shaking riffs and soaring choruses.”

Behind the scenes, the band kept things tight and true to their roots. The single was produced by Signo Rojo themselves, with mixing and mastering handled by Elias Mellberg, giving the track a raw but massive sonic punch that feels both deliberate and unfiltered.

This release marks the beginning of a heavy onslaught from the band in 2026, with more material locked, loaded, and ready to fire. If “Growth” is any indication, Signo Rojo aren’t easing into anything, they’re kicking the door clean off the hinges.

Review

Sludge/Stoner Metallers Abrams take a step back from the Ambient and Psychedelic delivery they have forged with their last two albums where they start forging closer ties once again to the Post-Hardcore and Noise Rock movement they experimented with earlier in their musical career. The end result is their highly satisfactory latest record LOON which brings a turbo-charged and highly deceiving style of Sludge/Stoner Metal that has a constant influx of Noise, Psych, Doom and Alt Metal structures that moves the band into new areas of Progressive sounds along the way.

The first few songs of Glass House, White Walls and Last Nail are quite chaotic and jagged with Abrams adding a creative sense of music employed by the likes of CAVE IN, MUTOID MAN and BOTCH. Though, the soulful and uplifting psychedelic passages they brilliantly perfected on their acclaimed 2024 album Blue City continue to be heard at the most convenient time which allows the listener to fully immerse themselves into Abrams dark and gloriously riff-fuelled musical environment.

The bombastic atmospherics does have small doses of vibrant Post-Punk, Post-Rock and Post-Stoner energy with their engaging style of real-life lyrics, harmonies and glorious uplifting beats still having a volatile dimension to it all. The music is played at a very loud, fast and pissed off pace with raw sounding Punk Rock mechanics holding everything together. Sometimes LOON delivers a NIGHT and DAY message and creative energy compared to Blue City especially on tracks such as Said & Done, Waves and How Did I Love My Mind?

The vocals from Zachary Amster and Taylor Iverson compliment each other superbly well with the album allowing them to put their own identity within their music. Zach and Taylor both deliver dynamite musical performances on guitars and bass respectively with Ryan DeWitt (Guitar) and Graham Zander (Drums) also adding to the ferocious and pissed off delivery that LOON wonderfully contains.

LOON can be wholly unpredictable at the best of times with Abrams switching between modern day Stadium Rock anthems and pulsating Sludge Metal sounds that can be quite deafening even when the listener is rocking out and headbanging in full agreement. There’s also a real sense of cynicism and downbeat energy on the later stages of the album and that’s not hard to see why.

A lot has changed in the world since Abrams released their last record. The world is teetering on the brink of destruction more than ever before and Abrams perfectly captures those violent surroundings on the remaining tracks of A State Of Mind, Remains and Sirens that are my favourite moments of the whole experience.

Abrams could have easily delivered Blue City Part Two and I will admit I still prefer that record only slightly compared to LOON, however I admire their bold creative choices they’ve achieved with LOON. This is their heaviest, aggressive and most violent record to date and maybe Abrams may return to more uplifting Psychedelic pastures for future records. However, the time is now and Abrams once again prove why they’re one of the most essential and consistently forward thinking bands the Sludge/Stoner Metal scene currently needs right now.

This may take a few listens to fully appreciate and truly admire but it’s well worth the journey as LOON has it all and offers an uncompromising style of music you cannot ignore.

US Heavy Rock Powerhouse ABRAMS to issue new album "Loon" on Blues Funeral Recordings this spring; first single "Glass House" streaming!

Denver-based heavy rock and post-hardcore goldsmiths ABRAMS blast the blistering debut single and visualizer taken from their upcoming new full-length "Loon", to be issued on April 17th through Blues Funeral Recordings.

With American idealism and societal unity in flames, ABRAMS’ ethereal ambiance has been permeated by vibrating, hair-trigger fury. 2024’s soaring and driving Blue City was a record full of arresting, nostalgic textures. This is no longer the world of that album.

The grinding hopelessness and chaos of these times have infused ABRAMS with the shattering intensity of Converge. Urgent and abrasive, Loon is acerbic, fed up, and riddled with pulverizing fury. Wistful melodies warp into dissonance and aggression. Crystalline beauty is inhabited by bitterness and rage. The band’s instinctive hooks aren't gone, and hopeful moments do shine intermittently through. But it’s clear that ABRAMS, like a lot of us, are pissed off. Desperate and seething, Loon is an irresistible, frenzied purge from a band refusing to give in.

On the album, guitarist and vocalist Zach Amster comments: "With each album, our goal is to evolve and not write the same record over and over again. There is no doubt in my mind our album "Loon" is the most unique Abrams record to date. It features some of the most aggressive and heavy Abrams tunes while also sharing some of our most poppy and melodic moments. Vocally, this is the most confident I have felt performance-wise, which sets the mood for the rather dark lyrical content, fitting for the daily bullshit and volatility we are forced to endure. The lead single and opening track, Glass House is a good precursor of what to expect with "Loon". We hope you enjoy!"

ABRAMS blast forth a cathartic mix of driving rhythms, soaring vocals and dreamy ambiance. Fusing melody and dissonance, guitarist/vocalist Zach Amster, bassist/vocalist Taylor Iversen, drummer Ryan DeWitt and guitarist Graham Zander wield elements of heavy rock, shoegaze, grunge and hardcore with ease and fluency, crafting a blend that's bittersweet and familiar while urgently gazing forward.

Hailed as “one of the most musically diverse and emotionally impactful bands in the scene" by Distorted Sound Magazine, the Denver band's captivating approach finds them sharing terrain with the likes of Torche, Cave In and Converge, while their command of chunky, hooky riffs recalls alt-rock icons Hum and Quicksand, though this swirling amalgam of influences isn't the totality of ABRAMS. Having shared the stage with Dozer, Unsane, KEN mode, King Buffalo, Khemmis and Emma Ruth Rundle, the foursome has always strived to deliver memorable live shows.

A spearhead of the Denver rock scene, ABRAMS joined the ranks of tastemaker label Blues Funeral Recordings in 2024 for the release of their cornerstone album Blue City. Recorded and produced by Kurt Ballou (Converge, High On Fire), it saw their genre-defying heaviness and perfect melodic songcraft meld seamlessly into what Metal Hammer Magazine described as "an upswell of positivity in the face of frustration that’s sure to shake you from your existential slumber".

Their new album Loon will arrive on April 17th, 2026 on Blues Funeral Recordings, just in time for their first European tour the following month, including a performance at DesertFest London.

Zachary Amster – guitar, vocals
Taylor Iversen – bass, vocals

Review

This Will Weigh Heavily On Your Annual Performance Appraisal is the debut album from Noise/Post-Hardcore/Sludge Metallers Feel Worse and it’s a project made up of members from bands such as Sulaco, Sully and Burn Everything. Feel Worse play a wide range of different musical themes such as Post-Rock, Black Metal, Psych Metal and Industrial Rock within their main Post-Hardcore and Sludge Metal attitude.

The band are perhaps closer to the likes of KOWLOON WALLED CITY and WHORES with the band creating sludgy anthemic grooves with a stirring social conscience appearing within the lyrics. The vocals are very much of the Post-Hardcore and Punk Rock variety as the music even has influences such as The Melvins, At The Drive-In and Converge to give this quite a highly experimental vibe. Feel Worse even find the time to play around with Psychedelic and Sonic movements which you can feel the full force on tracks such as In Public, Elbow Party and Graves Upon Graves.

With a twisted sense of melody allowing Feel Worse to move across different musical boundaries and even when the vocals move into Pitch-Black territory, the music is constantly melodic with a dark Psychedelic energy appearing within some of the more longer tracks of the record. There are some parts where the music is quite chaotic and Jazz focused in places but it’s quite refreshing to hear with Feel Worse always thinking ahead by creating complex rhythms and musical structures that also allow you to focus upon the lyrical content even more especially on tracks Graves Upon Graves, Break The Ice and The Giant Who Wanted Company.

Feel Worse has a harsh Nineties Alt-Metal attitude appearing on the later stages of the record with plenty of menacing beat-downs and progressive beats becoming more part of the action. This is a highly captivating slice of Noise Rock with a full on Sludge Metal attitude with the album also having quite a surreal experimental sound throughout.

This Will Weigh Heavily On Your Annual Performance Appraisal is a superbly entertaining record which dares to be quite different and still leaves you wanting to hear more with it’s great collection of individual songs that have BRAINS and BRAWN to match in equal measure.

Review

Old Deer’s debut album Someone In The House is an uncompromising slab of Hardcoure Punk, Noise, Sludge Metal, Doom and Psychedelic violent tendencies. The sound despite its violent appetite can be superbly melodic with areas of Post-Metal and Post-Doom appearing for a sense of calm even when Old Deer play a brutal style of Doom/Sludge Metal with a Mathcore identity emerging.

There’s an unorthodox and experimental style of Jazz being added with the use of Saxophones appearing very early on within the record. Old Deer will appeal to fans to the likes of Mastodon, Melvins, Chat Pile, WHORES, BOTCH and Kowloon Walled City with the mood continuously moving onto the next aggressive slab of Post-Metallic energy throughout the whole album.

The vocals from Matt are purely out of control for the most part with harsh screams and blistering Hardcore growls that sees some brief moments of clean vocals emerging from the carnage. The instrumental sounds are quite varied that allows Old Deer to pick up the best musical elements they have at their disposal whilst developing their own original blend of PISSED OFF surroundings with perhaps the MATHCORE and SLUDGE METAL aspects being the most dominant.

The first half of the album moves at a breakneck pace before Old Deer start adding Psychedelic and Progressive soundscapes which results into a heavier and dynamic powerful sound on tracks such as Astrid, Someone In The House, Maelstrom and 4507 which makes the whole of the second half of the album which becomes my favourite part of the album. However, the first half is still exciting stuff as Old Deer deliver the unexpected with intense Post-Hardcore movements that is amplified by a Doom/Sludge Metal platform on the great tracks such as The Hatch, Still To Still and Take It All.

There’s a socially aware identity to Someone In The House which touches upon some hard-hitting subjects within the lyrical content and with Matt’s superbly pitched vocals I could easily understand what was being said even in my advancing years.

Someone In The House is quite a diverse record with Old Deer exploring multiple different HEAVY SONIC based avenues to impress you with. The record doesn’t offer any easy answers but it’s an exhilarating and exciting ride that will easily find a dedicated and loyal following within the underground metal scene.

Bear, Man Dangerous - When We Cease To Understand The World (Single Review)

Release Date: October 13th 2025. Record Label: Self Released. Formats: DD

When We Cease To Understand The World - Tracklisting

When We Cease To Understand The World

Review

When We Cease To Understand The World is the latest chapter from Metal Experimental Collective Bear, Man Dangerous who I’ve featured on the blog a number of times now. If you’re new to their musical world then I’ll break it down for you what kind of music they actually play. Well, that’s very hard to describe as they crossover into areas of Psych, Punk, Stoner, Hardcore, Noise, Sludge, Americana and other weird elements into one fully cohesive style of music.

This track is one that’s built on Shoegaze, Psych, Post-Doom and Sludge Rock with an intense Noise Rock atmosphere. The music is very stripped back giving Bear, Man Dangerous and air of authenticity to their music especially when they talk about the current political landscape going on within the whole world. The music can be quite abstract and one that offers no answers at all. The added use of HARSH sound effects that’s spliced within the Ambient / Noise Rock structure make sure this track won’t be for everyone and is perhaps suited mostly for the Experimental Rock crowd.

For me personally, this is another excellent track from Bear, Man Dangerous and may perhaps offer as the perfect introduction to casual listeners into the band’s impressive discography.

Excellent and Highly Recommended.

Review

Wings Of Deliverance is the second album from Noise/Grunge/Sludge/Post-Punk/Stoner Rock outfit SISTERS who return after a two year absence with a more abrasive, aggressive and sludge based offering. This feels like a different band compared to their 2023 acclaimed debut album Leecheater. SISTERS features Jason Blackmore from Molly McGuire and Mario Quintero from Spotlights with this band featuring many similarities to those great bands but also carving up their own heavy riff driven sound. SISTERS still offer a deep sense of Melodic Rock though you wouldn’t expect this after you experience the delightfully violent and pissed off title track of Wings Of Deliverance.

This is the nastiest and heaviest track that SISTERS have delivered yet with a highly ambitious take on Industrial Metal with flashes of Post-Punk, Noise Rock and deeply rooted Electronica Beats. The vocals are harsh with a mid nineties/early noughties influence lingering in the background. The instrumental beats move from glitches to full on Electronica beats with a sudden shift into Heavy Power Mechanical Doom that feels like NIN crossing swords with Author & Punisher.

Second track Home Is Where The Heart is continues with the warped Industrial/Sludge grooves but added a melodic Sludge/Stoner Rock flavour that has similarities to TORCHE and RED FANG in places but with SISTERS adding their own distorted level of streetwise attitude and full-on catchy melodies. The vocals from both Jason and Mario are both clean based and in a stark contrast to the opening track. This is the type of music they brilliantly excel at but you’ll still be treated to outbursts of violent  Sludge Metal when the time calls for this.

Third track People’s Temple is another sonic odyssey with SISTERS employing a cool sounding melodic vibe that doesn’t necessarily play it safe with the COMMERCIAL ASPECTS that appear within the whole creative flow of the album. There is an epic nineties Alt Rock attitude with the swirling grunge based guitars and stunning rhythm sections that Mario and Jason equally contribute to. This is where SISTERS start to really hit their creative stride with subtle Psychedelic and Fuzzed mid-tempo changes which lasts the course for the rest of the album.

Songs such as The Angels Of Violence, Golden Sunbeams and The Planning Commission offer a classic Post-Punk attitude with flashes of Post-Rock and Doomed Out passages with SISTERS demonstrating their own great style of music. The lyrics are quite deceptive and observant which adds a mysterious edge to the whole album. I forgot to mention this album is about the following:

Wings Of Deliverance tells a chilling narrative about the cult of personality and the horrors of Jim Jones and the Jonestown tragedy

Despite the harsh subject matter that SISTERS deal with on the record there’s still some uplifting moments told through the groovy melodies that once again remind me of TORCHE in places. However, SISTERS are never too far away to bring the mood to a slightly depressing Post-Punk and Sludge Rock vibe especially on the final two tracks of the record White Night and Death Is A Friend.which brings some moments of Progressive Metal attitude into the mix.

These two tracks offer the heaviest, hard-hitting and bleakest parts of the album with challenging lyrics and vocal harmonies being added to complicate matters. Though, SISTERS once again play outside of the rules of HEAVY MUSIC to craft something brilliantly original and in their own aggressive image. This allows Wings Of Deliverance to be one of the most thought-provoking and sonically original records within the Alternative Rock/Metal scene (next to MOON DESTROYS and MUSEUM OF LIGHT) you’ll hear this year.

Simply unmissable!!!

Review

We Fail To Love Ourselves is the debut album from Post-Metal collective Adur who are made up of members from bands such as Grave Lines, Aerosol Jesus, Johnny Truant, and Sea Bastard. With great talent like that involved then you expect an album of great magnitude and Adur delivers that right across the board. Adur blends Post-Hardcore, Sludge Metal, Doom Metal and a sense of classic METALCORE keeping up the aggressive elements for the band to play the heaviest moments on the record.

Adur will appeal to fans such as BOTCH, CAVE IN, MASTODON, CULT OF LUNA, DEFTONES and CONVERGE. Though, there’s a sense of Pitch-Black mentality which could easily see bands such as THOU and DEAFHEAVEN being added. The record is constantly evolving atmosphere, moods and sheer brutal technical ability with Adur not settling on one straight-forward sound.

The Post-Metal vibe is quite downbeat, violent and chaotic for the most part but there’s a sense of hopeful melodies that allows a brief sense of happiness and reflection to appear before Adur return to their fucked-up and destructive world. The emotionally charged themes and dark subject matter that Adur have written for this record offers a true reflection of the nasty shit going on in the world with the band telling a captivating story through the power of music.

The length of the track varies from a couple minutes to six minutes in length with frenzied Post-Metal passages appearing throughout. I’m not the biggest METALCORE fan but Adur have that aspect implemented brilliantly well especially on the technically impressive POST-METAL beats of tracks such as Silhouette, We Fail To Love Ourselves, The Longing, The One Percent and Self Control. Though, the shorter tracks that appear show Adur’s more tender Psychedelic, Ambient and Post-Rock side that allows the listener a breather before putting through another round of HARSH SOUNDSCAPES and intense Progressive Sludge Metal melodies.

The record has some huge talent involved behind the scenes with Wayne Adams (Petbrick) producing, proving once again why he’s one of the best producers around. You also have the legendary mastering talents of James Plotkin (Khanate) helping out as well. This helps We Fail To Love Ourselves to sound epic and brutally heavy from start to finish.

Adur have crafted a real punishing slab of Post-Metal that should open a lot of doors within the UK underground Sludge/Post-Metal scene where they can preach their music to the biggest audience possible.
