What is the name of your band?

The Raging Project is not a real band, it’s more like a studio project, a musical collaboration with talented guest musicians and vocalists

What is the genre of music that you play?

We play progressive metal, with rock, heavy, atmospheric and electro effects in the music.

Can you give a brief history of the band of how it came together and where it is today?

The Raging Project rises from Project Rage, born in 2007 in East of France formed by guitar player Lionel Fevre and myself, an electro-metal duet, joined by female vocalist Jeannick Valleur. In 2009, we had released a 5-track EP well welcomed in the European underground press and audience at that time. The project would have turned to a real band but after several gigs, this attempt failed and music had been at rest during all these years. In 2021, I decided to record all the songs with some talented guest musicians and singers.

What can people expect from your music?

I think they can find great moments of emotions, vintage heavy prog sound melted with modern power metal, surrounded by lots of calm and melodic moods.

 

What is the best release that folks should check out from your band?

The whole “Future Days” album must be discovered because it contains twelve songs with twelve different moods and purposes. Every song deserves to be heard.

Psych Stoner Rockers We Kill Cowboys Releases Emotive New Single Patience

Cape Town's rock 'n roll ensemble, We Kill Cowboys, announces the release of their latest single, "Patience" out today via Mongrel Records. Led by the creative genius of tattoo artist and singer-songwriter Alex Muller, the dynamic 4-piece is a mesmerizing fusion of psychedelic rock, punk rock, grunge, and stoner blues.

 
"Patience" invites listeners into a world of thought-provoking narratives through the sultry and gritty vocals of Alex Muller. The band's signature sound is propelled by Jono's searing guitar riffs, Andrews' thunderous drums, and Danie's fuzzy bass grooves that resonate deep within the listener.

Describing the essence of "Patience," Alex Muller shares, "Think about walking down a long, dark road with only the moon's light to guide you. You're out there because you don't know where else to exist, and the darkness feels safe. In the same light, you're tired of being in the dark, existing in the in-between, the unknown. That's exactly when all you need is Patience. Deep trust. That's the crux of what this song is about."

Recorded and mastered by Floris Le Roux the band delves into a slower, harder sound in "Patience,". The intensity builds throughout the verses, culminating in an explosive climax that leaves a lasting impression on the listener.

Review

Psychomania is the debut full length album from Psych Doom/Stoner Rockers Tigers On Opium who have been impressing me even further with every record they release. Their debut album is no different with Tigers On Opium weaving 1970’s Hard Rock, Classic Doom Rock, Trippy Psychedelic Grooves and masses of Dark Orientated Stoner Rock/Metal.

The album covers social and psychological themes which shape up the fucked up world we live in which is completely out of our control. However, Tigers On Opium deliver this message through moments of Trippy Psychedelic Heavy Jams and Gloomy Hard Rock passages with intelligent lyrics to match. The vocals mostly from Juan Carlos Caceres with superb support from Nate, Charles and Jeanot have a 1980’s Stadium Rock and modern day Proto-Doom sound that reminds me of Mars Red Sky and Uncle Acid & The Deadbeat in places.

Tigers On Opium always strive for creative musical excellence throughout with an exciting style of highly original Psychedelic tones and catchy aggressive Stoner rhythms with an apocalyptic style of Fuzz Rock on outstanding tracks such as: Ride Or Die, Black Mass, Diabolique, Paradise Lost, Radioactive and Separation Of The Mind.

Even though Psychodrama has plenty of gloomy and hard-hitting vibes, the record also has some killer upbeat movements which is told mostly through the fast-paced grooves Tigers On Opium play on this album. 

There’s some wicked 1980’s Soft Rock and AOR melodies which you don’t expect from the band especially on the sublime fourth track Retrovertigo which could easily be considered a romantic song if performed by a different band. However, listen to the lyrics more closely and the song changes into something more profound even with the Classic Rock and Retro Rock based elements. This is perhaps one of the most original and surreal songs on the album which showcases why I think Tigers On Opium are one of the best songwriters in the Stoner Rock underground scene.

The creative magic that the band conjures up on Psychodrama is EPIC and the band delivers one classic track after another. This sounds like a greatest hits album rather than a debut album. You get the feeling that Tigers On Opium have been around for decades and showing the upcoming bands within the Stoner Rock scene how to deliver a winning collection of highly original Stoner Rock songs that have a deep social conscience to them.

Psychodrama has the legendary Jack Endino on mastering duties and the band’s very own Juan Carlos Caceres on production duties. You also have Adam Pike helping guitarist Jeanot on engineering duties. So this album is very much a team affair and a great reason why the album sounds fantastic from start to finish.

Tigers On Opium will no doubt gain a whole legion of new fans and gain more attention thanks to this album alone. Psychodrama is an outstanding debut album. End Of.

“This new single Shapeshifter, describes an against-all-odds escape of an American man from a prison camp in the USSR, back in the 70s, with the help of the newly found love of his life and a brave stranger willing to risk his own life to send the man back home. This is not the only song from the new album III that talks about escape from prisons. Other songs recount stories of escape from the prison of one’s body or mind. We must say, regarding our songs of jailbreaks, that our intention is not to glorify criminality at all, but rather acknowledge the acts forged in desperation and fear of the prospect of remaining in captivity. The cover of the new album is made by our friend Diogo Soares from Soares Artwork”.

Sonic Wolves was formed in 2012 by drummer Vita (ex-Ufomammut) and bassist/singer Kayt Vigil (ex-Pentagram and ex-The House of Hasselvander), Nico Nigro (ex-Mortuary Drape) on guitar complete the line-up. Originating in Alessandria, Italy, Sonic Wolves debuted in 2016 with "Before The End Comes" and followed up in 2018 with "Sonic Wolves," including two 7" singles, "He Said" and "He Said tour ed," in 2016 and 2017. In 2022 Argonauta Records released a 12” EP called “It’s All A Game To Me”, including two original songs in tribute to Lemmy and Cliff Burton.

Known for their heavy, dark, and gritty sound, Sonic Wolves draws inspiration from 70’s hard rock, proto-metal, psychedelic rock and blues, while infusing a fresh and bold approach. Exclusive Album Premiere Of Desert/Stoner Rockers RHINO New Album HUMAN FARM

Rhino is a heavy stoner rock band rising from the sulphuric city of Catania, on the slopes of the Etna volcano, where the five members play a mix of stoner/desert rock from the ’90s and 2000 blended with the deep psychedelia of the ’70, resolving in an attitude built around a riff-driven composition, a megalithic wall of fuzz and tons of watts. Rhino was born in 2012 by an idea of the bassist Frank The Door and the guitarist Red Frank, briefly joined afterward by the drummer Lord J. Frank.

Following the guitarist Francesco Cucinotta opting out of the band, the lineup was completed by Frank the Doc on vocal duties and Frank Real Tube on guitar. The lineup stood the same since then. Since their beginning, Rhino stand out for their extensive live activities through Italy, sharing the stage with such bands as Red Fang, El Perro and many relevant Italian acts. The band debuts in 2013 with their self-titled EP, followed by their first full length The Law of Purity (featuring I See the Monsters video clip), released on 2017 through Argonauta Records.

Renewing the collaboration with Argonauta Records, Rhino’s second full length Human Farm will be release on early 2024, showcasing the most mature work of the band, who confirms to be true to riff worshipping and atmospheric psychedelia, still crossing the genre defining boundaries in an album that stands as unique in its segment.

Doom/Sludge Metallers Ash Eater Release New Single. Now Experience The Psychotic Doom Of RITUAL

Boardsliding their way out of the murky depths of the Portland heavy scene, Ash Eater arrive on their wheeled steeds with crushed beer in one hand and a flaming guitar promising nothing but sweet riffs in the other.

The trio of skaters, fronted by the bassist for fellow PDX acts LáGoon and Oopsy Dazey, deal in a ferocious mix of doom metal, thrash, and grubby psychedelia that congeals into a riotous sound as fit for a skate session as it is for a smoke-fogged mosh. .

Steel your mind and light your torches, Ash Eater's new single "Ritual" aims to drag you into the darkest dungeons of doom and psychedelia. Slowing the pace from their thrashier tendencies, the crew lay down a Sabbathian crawl of rolling riffs and nod, guitar squealing and bass throbbing under Kenny Coombs' crazed vocal delivery.

Madness lurks just around the corner, however, as the plot gets turned on its head and the band careens into a manic downward spiral of frenzied noise. An epic guitar solo swirls and contorts over the thundering gallop of drums and bass, a firey soundtrack to the depths of some drug-fueled psychosis. By the end the listener can rest uneasy knowing they've been complicit in a sonic ceremony of the illest intent.

"A sonic journey of a slow descent into madness. As the terror of encroaching darkness becomes too much to withstand and pure chaos takes hold what is left of one fully given over to evil?

Using shifts in tempo to emulate a frantic mind torn between their actions and the results unfolding before them, ultimately culminating in a frantic and hectic sprint through insanity. Ritual attempts to give listeners the same uneasy feeling they might get after a handful of mushrooms around a campfire when the shadows seem to creep in a little too close."
