ROSA is the Italian word for PINK but it also means ROSE, the flower. ROSA tells, in a universal language, of different elements united by belonging:PINK, as artwork and titles suggest.

Mountains Of Garbage is the new EP from Doom/Stoner Rockers Gods & Punks who return after a three year absence and with some lineup changes compared to their last album. However, it’s business as usual with Gods & Punks playing more top-notch Doomed Out based Stonr Rock with a subtle Psychedelic Rock edge.
The EP has a more potent Classic Hard Rock sound which the band use to their advantage which you can hear and fully appreciate within the opening title track. Flashes of Blues Rock energy and some intense Guitar Solos are the main order of business with flashes of Monster Magnet riffs allowing this to be a damn good track to open the EP with. The vocals have a Space Rock element to them with the thrilling grooves slowly fading into space.
Second track Dinosaur Feathers takes its time to fully get going with Gods & Punks opting for a more mellow and laid back sound. The sound is quite solitary with small flashes of Stoner Rock aggression slowly coming through. The vocals from Alexandre C are more restrained compared to the previous track with a subtle Garage Rock sound being highly atmospheric. The doomed out guitars become more Cosmic and vibrant when the heavier instrumental sounds appear with Alexandre C’s vocals becoming more impressive with the song reaching its natural conclusion.
The final song Purple Moon is a classic style of Stoner Rock with moments of Black Sabbath and Motorhead creative energy. The song is quite simple but still a highly effective way of Gods & Punk delivering fast-paced and highly energetic sounds with a Punk Rock swagger. A great track to end the EP with and showing quite a Doom Rock edge on the later stages of the track before Gods & Punks deliver one intense blast of Classic Hard Rock guitars and swirling Psychedelic rhythms.
Mountains Of Garbage is another excellent release from Gods & Punks to add to their already impressive discography and keep their established fan base quite happy until they drop their next release.

HOWLING GIANT will embark on an extended US tour as direct support for THE OBSESSED in March and April this spring. Every song on HOWLING GIANT's sophomore album "Glass Future" tells its own story. Yet even without an overarching concept, all could exist within the same universe. Such crafty lyrical world-building is hardly surprising coming from a group of enthusiastic fantasy and science fiction aficionados. "Glass Future" downright asks to inspire a book or graphic novel, even as it explodes with furious energy and thunderous acrobatics.
Musically, "Glass Future" offers a continuation and evolution of all the elements that made debut album "The Space Between Worlds" (2019) such a success. Extinct is the new album from Doom/Sludge Metallers We Follow The Earth and this has a more sombre, bleak and aggressive tone compared to their 2023 debut Lightbearer. Extinct does follow a similar path to that album but We Follow The Earth plays music that’s driven by a harsher solitary tone with a distorted sound fuelled by a Post-Metal attitude which fits superbly well into the overall narrative of the story.
Extinct “is a crushingly heavy fantasy piece from start to finish, which tells the story of a Cyclops chieftain discovering that his entire tribe has been murdered and vowing revenge”.
Drawing upon bands such as CONAN, Slomatics, High On Fire and Neurosis, it’s great to see We Follow The Earth delivering their own blend of Doom/Sludge Metal carnage with across some epic tracks which can be downright ferocious and nasty in places especially on the excellent three opening tracks - The Oracle, The Defilement and The Ruined.
Once We Follow The Earth setup the creative structures of their music within The Oracle, things become more Psychedelic and even WEEDIAN inspired which gives way to strands of outstanding moments of instrumental trippy jams whilst keeping that down-tuned violent energy. This allows We Follow The Earth to become major disciples of the LOW & SLOW and AMPLIFIER DISTORTION approach on how to deliver their music. Matthew Crott’s vocals are full of angular power and energy which reminds me of Jon Paul Davis (CONAN) at times especially when he delivers a powerful narrative within the lyrics written for the album perhaps more on tracks such as The Defilement and The Ruined.
The second half of the album becomes more riff obsessed which is perhaps the most impressive aspect of the album whilst keeping with the first half’s volatile and violent sound with flashes of that modern day Post-Metal attitude. The story becomes more interesting when it reaches its violent and action packed conclusion with the final two tracks of The Bloodshed and The Cave.
We Follow The Earth does a wonderful job of bringing a cinematic atmosphere to the whole album where the sullen sounds are fully justified with those raw sounding grooves having a sense of tre purpose where the mood can be downright brutal and unforgiving in places. The album lasts forty five minutes in length but ultimately feels longer which is a good thing. This shows there’s a lot more waiting to be discovered with Extinct with multiple and repeated listens.
Extinct is an epic album from start to finish and is one that will surely elevate We Follow The Earth to greater heights within the Doom/Sludge Metal scene. Outstanding. End Of.

Famed Italian Heavy Psychedelic Rockers Deadpeach fourth album The Cosmic Haze And The Human Race is a mighty fine collection of trippy psychedelic passages with the elevated status of Stoner Rock allowing the album to have a more central FUZZIER sound compared to their previous albums. The album has moments of Spaced Out Rock which brings a heavier Desert Rock perspective and seedy 70’s Classic Hard Rock atmosphere.
Deadpeach take influence from a wide range of bands such as Dead Meadow, Earthless and Colour Haze to name but a few. However, Deadpeach bring their own “hip” creative vision to the Heavy Psych Field with moments of extended Hard Rock jams with a free-flowing attitude which can be quite DOOM based in places with a JAZZY outlook. The opening tracks of Madras, Motor Peach and Man On The Hill are exceptionally played and fully realised with Deadpeach bringing their wealth and knowledge of being together for over 31 years now. The music is fast-paced, highly energetic and full of Garage Rock energy. The vocals from Giovanni are superb as ever who has a rebellious Punk Rock style on this album.
The music is not overly produced and has the right amount of Stoner Rock presence which is always striving for heavier musical pastures. The record is perhaps dominated by Giovanni and Daniele’s intense guitar work but as always they have wonderful support by Federico on Drums and MrSteveman on Bass who provide a funk driven backline for the guitars to work upon.
Deadpeach conjures up wilder instrumental passages on the later stages of the album on tracks such as Ouroboros, Monday and Set The Control To Mother Earth. Soulful guitars and classic 1960’s based Psychedelic grooves become another destructive style of music for Deadpeach to delight fans of Heavy Psych Stoner Rock with from beginning to end.
The Cosmic Haze And The Human Race has been worth the nine year wait since their last album and they’ve delivered another winner here which could be considered as their finest, trippiest and weirdest record to date.
Excellent and Highly Recommended.

Lowdown About Red Sun
RED SUN formed in march 2014 after few long night jams under the starry sky of an ancient mill lost in the Piacenza countryside.Their first self-produced album "Triosophy" released in 2015 and reprinted in vinyl by Spin On Black the years after serves an original mix of space psychedelic instrumental rock. This album opened the doors of many venues and festivals in Italy and Europe.
At the end of 2017 EnoMirco and Federico ultimate the second work "The wind, the waves,the clouds" produced by Psyka Records. The evolution of the band can be perceived in a more powerful and mature sound that enhances the expressive power of the instrumental trio.Throughout these last strange years RED SUN restarted their musical journey and in 2023 recorded the new material that will take the listener on an introspective adventure full of colors and emotions.
