Review

Rancho Bizzarro are an Italian Instrumental Desert Rock/Psych/Stoner Rock band influenced by Brant Bjork, Karma To Burn and MC5. Well according to the press release that accompanied the promo that I received to review the album. The two things that focused my attention to the band was obviously Argonauta Records, as they're releasing a ton of quality releases over the last 18 months or so. The other main factor was the band's member – Izio – on bass duties. As Izio released a great album – Weedooism- for his other band – Bantoriak. Weedooism is a groovy psychedelic stoner based head trip in it's own right.

Anyway back to Rancho Bizzarro's world. This is a band who don't apologise for sounding very similar to their musical heroes and influences throughout the album. If you're a fan of Brant Bjork, Karma To Burn and other Desert/Stoner Rock bands then you will no doubt fall head over heels in love with this album. It's never going to win any awards for originality but Rancho Bizzarro have managed to create an exciting whirlwind of classic Desert/Stoner Rock sounds that longtime fans of the genre will go crazy for.

Opening wtih the hard-rocking and swagger of Five Hermanos. Rancho Bizzarro waste no time in creating Karma To Burn-esque pounding stoner riffs but with a more angrier style of sound. The album quickly moves onto Garage that has a more psychedelic/garage rock vibe that is perhaps where the MC5 influence comes into play.

The album moves onto great songs such as Incredible Bongo, Mood Brant, You Man and Katching at such a fast and furious pace that you can't help but lose yourself within the heavy psychedelic classic stoner sounds the band create on the album.

Rancho Bizzarro's debut album is an exciting and action packed album that may actually see the band create some almighty buzz of their own within the Desert/Stoner Rock scene. As I said before, it's not the most original sounds but when the music is this good. Who cares. Sit back and enjoy the ride!!!

Excellent and Highly Recommended.
