Human Farm is the new album from Psych Stoner Rockers RHINO who take the listener on a heavy sonic trip which merges 90’s classic sounding Desert/Stoner Rock with the aggressive attitude 70’s Psych Rock with occasional flashes of Grunge and Doom appearing. The record has quite a surreal Space Rock flow at times but RHINO remain committed in delivering their FUZZ fuelled adventure across eight tracks with GUSTO and creative conviction.
Taking cues and the classic Hard Rock attitude from bands such as KYUSS, Black Sabbath, Fu Manchu, Soundgarden and Truckfighters, this album has a lot to say and pulls no punches with the hard hitting lyrics RHINO have written for the album. Human Farm is a record full of SOUL and EMOTION which comes through the excellent opening tracks of Agony & Madness, Planet Of Dust and Gentle Sound Of The Knife. Though, RHINO do show their mean side with plenty of Doomed Out Heavy Rock movements which showcase a catchy style of Psychedelic Fuzz which remains quite timeless when the band switch between Classic Hard Rock styles and modern day Progressive Stoner grooves.
Human Farm perhaps comes into its own creative dynamic on outstanding tracks such as Gentle Sound Of The Knife, Human Farm, Magic Water, Big Clouds Again and Fast Radio Burst allowing RHINO to play a groovy and never-ending style of subtle sounds which can be quite melodic with a free-flowing SONIC exploration allowing the more heavier Doomed Out WEEDIAN and Scorched Desert Rock moments to appear.
The vocals are another highlight with Frank The Doc putting in a first rate vocal performance where he channels vocal passages that perfectly suit the Desert Rock, Stoner Rock and Grunge moments that make up the whole album. Everyone else plays their part by playing epic and huge sounding STADIUM SIZED riffs which have a vital Psych/Space/Cosmic presence which allows Human Farm to be quite Frankly a daring slice of Psychedelic Stoner Rock that oozes class from start to finish.
