Since the release of their runaway self-titled debut in 2014, Child have continued to develop their unique brand of heavy blues through constant writing and extensive national/international touring. The band released the follow-up ‘Blueside’ in December 2016, which builds on this foundation to deliver a disc of pure sonic expression whilst following in the long tradition of the blues. 2018 saw the release of Child’s first EP, simply titled ‘I’. Recorded live to tape, ‘I’ is a glimpse into the boundless directions that could be taken on upcoming releases.

Exclusive Song Premiere Of Sludge/Post-Metallers WE FOLLOW THE EARTH New Song SIRENS From Upcoming New Album FOAMDRINKER

We Follow the Earth is a sludgy doom band that will occasionally lean into a post-metal sound. Located in Winston Salem, North Carolina, the core of their sound is built on slow, crushing riffs, ever present soul shaking bass, and aggressive, strained screams.

Started as a solo project for Matthew Crotts, with his brother, Robert Crotts, offering to write the concept story and lyrics for the debut album “Lightbearer” in 2023. Shortly after releasing the debut album, writing started for the 2nd concept album “Extinct”, which was recorded/engineered by Jamie King and released in March 2024.

This new album, “Foamdrinker”, takes the listener on a journey through a world that is, for unknown reasons, stuck in a perpetual winter. Facing extinction, our characters are willing to go to any lengths to survive, but dangers beyond the ice lurk in the depths of the ocean and within ourselves. The struggle to overcome these challenges that we are presented with, both the external and the internal superstitions about how we think the world should work from the crux of this story. How we balance selfless acts against selfish ones can save or doom the world.

New Dawn Fades is a heavy rock band from Philadelphia, blending doom, grunge, and metal influences from bands like Soundgarden, Corrosion of Conformity, Down, Black Sabbath, High on Fire, Queens of the Stone Age, and Mercyful Fate. The band features vocalist and guitarist GFA (Ritual Earth, Halo of Snakes), guitarist Corey Pettingill (Blackhand), bassist Algar (Green Meteor), and drummer Steve Roche (Saetia, Off Minor). Together, they deliver music that’s both heavy and dynamic, combining crushing riffs, strong grooves, raw energy, and melodic vocals with memorable hooks.

Masheena from Bergen, Norway have eagerly Been Waiting for the release of the first single from their upcoming album Let The Spiders In.

Following the critically acclaimed debut West Coast Hard Rock, the band's second album is set to be co-released by the two hard hitting labels Ripple Music (US) and Majestic Mountain Records (SE), in April 2026.

 
The recording sessions for Let The Spiders In took place in the outskirts of Austin, bordering on the desert landscape of Texas. The band absorbed the eclectic surroundings and created the inspired, slide fuelled heavy anthem Been Waiting, with good help from renowned producer Machine (Clutch, Lamb Of God, King Crimson).

Previous Life’ is the first single from the upcoming debut album by the Milan-based psychedelic act Messiness, set to be released in autumn 2025 via StoneFree Records (LP) and Tarla Records (Digital).

Parodically referencing the classics of psychedelic rock, ‘Previous Life’ transforms nostalgia into a commodity, mapping out a non-existent past instead of longing for real memories. It portrays the present as a sensory overload and an unsustainable hyperreality for an empty generation, while proposing an escape into an imaginary era where absence becomes a luxury and presence is elevated. The refrain, "I'm making plans for my previous life," functions as a mantra of the digital age, underscoring the absurdity of planning for the future while idealizing a past that was never truly lived.

BIOGRAPHY

Born in the shadows of Milan’s fashion district, Messiness walks a deliberately unfashionable path. The band orbits around Sicilian polymath Massimiliano Raffa – musician, sociologist, and writer joined by sonic wanderers from the city's underground. Messiness crafts an explosive postmodern fusion where psychedelic rock collides with space-funk, free jazz interleaves with baroque pop and Canterbury sound meshes with art rock. Their distinctive Mediterranean spirit infuses the music with rich textures drawn from traditional Eastern Mediterranean sounds, creating an eclectic mix that defies any categorisation, creating an eclectic mix that defies any categorisation. "We love Indiana Jones, so we wrote a track about Indy himself, fighting the bad guys and always coming out on top. It fills us with hope for the world we live in, which could really use some. In this song we put all that really is “Melting Pop” for us: Fvzz-heavy, glorious, catchy, powerful riffs and still you can do a sing along in the choruses. We want “Temple of Doom” to go over the boundaries between different genres of heavy rock music and make people having fun listening to it as much as we enjoy playing it. Did we succeeded?"

Band Bio

Founded in Rome by Pootchie and Datio in A.D. MMXVI, the idea was to build a powertrio with a direct and rough way to deliver heavy fuzzy riffs. Their sound melts Black Sabbath-style heavy riffs with the roughest garagepunk bands attitude -like The Stooges-, adding the psychedelia from the 70's to create their own style!

The band released and promoted an "EP" in May 2017, with a promotional tour in Italy, Switzerland and Germany. In June 2017 they became a part of Heavy Psych Sounds Records (Bongzilla, Pentagram, Brant Bjork, Nick Olivieri, Fatso Jetson, Yawning Man, Nebula, Giöbia, Duel, Black Rainbows.) roster to promote their 1st album "FVZZ DEI". 

Released in September 2017, the album has brought the band on more than 70 european stages in 8 countries, giving them the chance to play in the mysterious DUNA JAM. In June 2018 the band recorded their 2nd album "MAGNA FVZZ", which has been released in October 2018 followed by a 75 gigs european tour, with highlights in festivals like HPS Fest, Le Grand Incendie, Gouha, Berlin Swamp Fest and Tabernas Desert Rock Festival. In 2019 the band signed with the indie r'n'r label RETROVOX to release their 3rd studio album named FVZZ POPVLI III in March the 3rd 2023, then Datio left the the band, III was supported by 4 long tour legs across Europe in the name of Punk Rock.

Fvzz Popvli, among others, shared the stage with: White Hills, Black Rainbows, Naxatras, Giöbia, Ufomammut, Karma To Burn, Rotor, Zodiac, DYSE, Powder for Pigeons, Lili Refrain, El Perro, Hypnos, The Tazers, Mars Red Sky, Mother Engine, The Midnight Ghost Train and much more. In November 2024 the band signed again an agreement with Heavy Psych Sounds, to release a new album on Q1 2025.

They started kicking around the idea of a Lord of the Rings/ Led Zeppelin IV concept project in 2021 and in 2024 finally hit the studio armed with a lot more than a few ditties about elves. THE LONG ROAD has become, for its creators, at least, an album about the times we're living in, the social injustices, bigotry, the wealth disparities. I dunno, maybe these things are the orcs we have to fight. I brought a wizard staff microphone to the fight, what about you?

Hell Yeah - WARPSTORMER | London’s Rising Space Metal Riff Machines Announce Debut Album & Single

“The band’s thrash-influenced stoner metal is a whirlwind of dirty, driven riffs that roar in your ears with all the confidence of a mad lion!” - DOOM CHARTS

For what initially started out as a plague-time project, the South London-based quartet have wasted no time at all in making a name for themselves amid the crowded confines of the UK underground metal scene.

WARPSTORMER, whose name is a subtle nod to the tabletop universe of Warhammer, are influenced as much by the ferocity of bands like High on Fire and Baroness, as they are by ambitious sci-fi centred classics like Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds.

“As you might expect given the name, we draw pretty heavily on sci-fi and fantasy themes in our lyrics,” explains vocalist Richard J Morgan. “But in such a way that they serve as a sort of creative vessel for exploring the more psychologically harrowing aspects of 21st century life.”

Their 2022 EP, Here Comes Hell – recorded by Morgan with close friends Matt Folley (drums) and Green Lung guitarist, Scott Black – was released to critical acclaim in 2022 as both a statement of intent and brutal smackdown on the recruitment market. Having since established a working line-up, adding bassist Simon Doggett; guitarist Adam Davies and drummer James Loh, the band’s debut self-titled album arrives this November on the recently established label, London Doom Collective.

“The first EP got us up and running,” continues Morgan. “It attracted a line-up of excellent players who understood the vibe of what we were trying to do, and we spent the next year or so rehearsing, writing and playing as many shows as we could. By the end of that year, we headed into the studio to make our first full record as a proper band. We’re really pleased with how it’s turned out and very excited to share it with a wider audience, live and on record.”

Recorded in and around appearances at Desertfest London and Bloodstock Open Air over the summer with producer Wayne Adams (Green Lung, Gnome, Wasted Death) like the “warpstorms” that inspired its creation, the album is a hellish, messed-up realm of sonic chaos. Melding stoner-doom, thrash, and classic metal into something akin to 'speed doom', WARPSTORMER conflates existential bleakness and bludgeoning, yet catchy riffs, into one unmissable package.

WARPSTORMER’s self-titled debut will be released on 29th November 2024 via London Doom Collective and can be pre-ordered in several editions and formats including Cosmic Blast (transparent magenta/purple splatter, limited to 50 copies) and Eldritch Blue (100 copies) LPs, with CD, cassette and digital versions rounding out the offerings.

"Our new single ‘1202’ was originally created as an intro for our live shows but during lockdown we felt it had the beginnings of a full song, one that really came into its own once we were able to get in a room together and work on it. The title comes from the 1202 alarm code from Apollo 11 and lyrically, the song is about delirium and following the theme of being marooned on the moon, hearing voices, and fighting for survival. This song is the sixth track on the album. With its mix of heavy sections and melancholic lyrics it leads into a contemplative middle section and is finally topped off with a furious finale. It really makes for a storied and interesting composition that is by far, one of our favourites on the album. We’re really proud of how this track came to be, and the journey we took to create it."

Originally formed in 2015 as Black Atlas, the Hertfordshire-based quartet – born anew as Erronaut – are thrilled to announce the official worldwide release of their debut album, The Space Inbetween, this summer on London Doom Collective.

Consisting of vocalist/guitarist, Mikey Ward; fellow guitar slinger, Peter Hunt, bassist Simon Wilson, and drummer Sam Gates (whose arrival sparked this new iteration of the band) Erronaut’s singular sound has continued to evolve at every turn. Drawing inspiration from the iconic 70s rock of Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd, the 90s grunge of Soundgarden, and stoner metal of modern torchbearers Lowrider and Fu Manchu, the band seek to conquer new frontiers.

"When we sat down to start writing, we made a concerted effort to push and explore ourselves as artists and collaborators," explains vocalist Mikey Ward. "With the amount of work we've done to create it, we’re really proud of how this album has turned out, and we feel this is a real representation of what we are trying to achieve, both in the studio and as a live act on stage."

Employing heavy atmospheric rock to power lyrical subjects that focus on love, loss, and existential introspection, the dynamic foursome has well and truly delivered The Space Inbetween. Hook-laden guitars conjure soaring post-metal vistas and showcase a huge progression in their song writing. Gigantum, the innovative hard rock band from Los Angeles, USA continues to experiment with the genre norms as they release their second single “Necron99” from their upcoming self-titled debut album slated to hit online retailers on September 6, 2024. Following the successful launch of the single “Monkey King” last month, this new track delves deeper into the band’s eclectic influences and creative synergy, offering fans another taste of what’s to come. 

Vocalist/bassist Mia X comments on the single:

“A lot of the songs are about conversations that we have at practice. Necron99 came about when Mark told us about this movie he was really into and wanted us to check out called, WIZARDS. After watching it, I went down a rabbit hole to learn more and when he started playing the riff that is now Necron99, I started thinking about the importance of what the movie was portraying.”

“Necron99” has a very heavy, doomy industrial feel that takes the listener into darkness. Gigantum works collaboratively, coming up with riffs that bounce off each other, and in each track, the different ideas and musical influences of the musicians can shine through. The result is an EP that is as complex as it is compelling, offering listeners a glimpse into the band's creative process.

“Necron99” could be considered the modern-day “War Pigs” and is recommended for fans of Fu Manchu, Mastodon, and Red Fang.

Classic Rock/Hard Rock/Stoner Rockers MASHEENA Release New Song/Video For GOING DOWN Through Majestic Mountain Records

Going Down is a cover of the classic blues tune written by Don Nix, made famous by Freddie King, and covered by probably every blues band in the world.

Released as a digital single through Majestic Mountain Records.

Still, the energy of the original really resonated with us, so we decided to record a version anyway! During what we ended up calling the "GlaMasheena"- sessions with super producer Iver Sandøy at the helm at Solslottet Studios in December of '23, we tried to get a kind of glammy, 70s production on the tracks.

That sound is more apparent on the other track from those sessions, Married To Rock 'N' Roll, but still we're very happy with the result, and we had a great time recording. What more can you ask? We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed recording it, and as much at love playing it live! Cover artwort for the single by the talented Martin Kvam.

For now, this concludes our little flirt with 70s glam rock, we just finished recording our second album at The Machine Shop in Dripping Springs, Texas, USA, with our new friend Machine (The Producer). Did we bring the glam and blues into those sessions? You’ll have to wait and see!

Nashville heavy psych trio The Swell Fellas release their third and final album Residuum Unknown late July 2024. Encompassing everything the band has to offer on one incredibly written album will leave fans in awe. 

The trio have touring with giants in the industry such as All Them Witches and King Buffalo and built up quite a following in the last 4-5 years. Long time friend and Bassist Mark Rohrer unfortunately had to part ways leaving brothers Chris and Connor Poole a tough decision to end the band. However, not without a proper send off by releasing their best album to date.

Yellowknife's GNARWHAL Look Inwards With Provocative Title Track From Upcoming EP “Altered States” Out May 2024

Gnarwhal, the genre-bending rock phenomenon hailing from the remote northern Canadian city of Yellowknife, continues to captivate audiences with the release of their latest single, the title track from their upcoming album “Altered States”. The single is out now and the remainder of the fuzzy, doomy album is being released on May 24, 2024. The emotionally charged track offers a profound exploration of resilience and memory, weaving together intricate melodies and haunting lyrics that resonate with listeners on a deep and personal level. The band comments on the creation of the track:

“Altered States is interesting because when we went into the studio we hadn’t even fleshed the song out and it wasn’t near complete. Mark hadn’t finalized the vocal melody or lyrics and structurally the song wasn’t making a lot of sense. We were actually a bit tentative about including this in our studio time and having it on the EP. It was the last song we tracked. Once Layne laid down the drum tracks and we started working on bass and guitar, we knew we were onto something a bit different and cool.”

“Altered States” delves into themes of personal transformation and the enduring power of memory. The track serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of embracing our past experiences, even as we navigate the uncertainties of the present. The upcoming EP promises to deliver a diverse and introspective musical journey in which the band artfully navigates the realms of heavy alternative fuzz rock and progressive metal, creating a sound that is uniquely their own.

Powerful and personal, the single “Altered States” invites the listener to look inward. It is recommended for fans of Kyuss, Mastodon, and Elder.

Kalgon is a heavy psych / stoner doom trio from Western North Carolina. Kalgon combines the drone of throwback stoner doom, ethereal textures of post metal, and the pillaging gallop of thrash and black metal.

Opening for acts such as Lie Heavy, Indus Valley Kings, Smoke, Stormtoker, among others, Kalgon has developed a regional following around Asheville, NC. Live shows are ruled by raw dynamics and a dark, foreboding atmosphere.

For fans of Sleep, The Sword, Baroness, and Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats.

Kalgon’s 7 track debut album features the raw elements that have defined them since they began two years ago. With a truly DIY approach, Kalgon’s self-titled release portrays the trio as they sound, with minimal embellishment. The album was engineered by Kalgon and mixed by Kevin Boggs.

With heavy psych, thrash, blues and stoner-doom stylings matched with steady low end riffs, the album runs a varied and dynamic course, all while nodding to throwback doom grooviness.

Lyrically, the album tells a story of Kalgon, a fungus that reawakens from the Devonian period by having spores that remain preserved in the exosphere after a comet carries it into orbit around Earth for hundreds of millions of years. The fungus then begins to colonize the minds of humans, controlling them to reformulate the atmosphere of Earth for warmer, more favorable conditions and more methane for the hivemind parasitic space fungus.

The Cosmic Dead are an amorphous blob of space rock energy hailing from Glasgow, Scotland. Their exploratory compositions often reach levels of sonic destruction through reflective repetition and visceral harmony.

The band has taken many forms since forming in 2010 and has been declared 'The loudest psychedelic rock band on the planet." by legendary compere Kozmik Ken. At the base of the current sonic obliteration team is a rhythm section of Tommy Duffin and Omar Aborida, a thunderous and cohesive unit which is then further propelled into the outer realms by Luigi Pasquini providing frantic italo synthesized electronics along with Calum Calderwood's mind bending, sky-shattering fiddle acrobatics.

Infinite Peaks is the long awaited ninth full length album from tumultuous Glaswegian astral travellers The Cosmic Dead, the album features two extended incantations recorded and mixed at Glasgow's 16 Ohm Recording Studio.

The album will be released on the 12th of April 2024 exclusively on Heavy Psych Sounds Records.

Juke Cove, a heavy psychedelic rock trio from Leipzig, Germany, drops an electrifying new single "Wait", offering the first impression of their upcoming album. 

"Wait" is a musical kaleidoscope, blending stoner, desert, and psychedelic rock. The song's narrative explores themes of stagnation and change, unfolding through mellow verses, a psychedelic transition, and fuzzed-out, melodic riffs that capture the emotional turbulence within.

“Wait was inspired by the feeling of getting stuck in monotony, like being in a time loop. It’s how many of us might have felt during COVID times with all the stuff shut down but it’s also inspired by personal experiences of being stuck in a job (or relationship, place etc.) one doesn’t like or feel is right. So, often the initial feeling is to kinda accept the situation and wait. But then the frustration grows…” - says the band.

Juke Cove's unique fusion of psych rock, doom, stoner, grunge, prog rock, and punk has made them a standout in the heavy underground scene since their 2019 debut. Their 2021 album “Remedy” was released in collaboration with Interstellar Smoke Records. Since then, Juke Cove have played multiple shows in Germany and Poland, opening for King Buffalo, Weedpecker, Rotor, Valley of the Sun, Mars Red Sky, and Dopelord among others. Their new album will be released later in 2024 on Interstellar Smoke Records.

Psych Stoner Rockers Thomas Greenwood & the Talismans Premiere New Song SUNHOUSE From Upcoming New Album ATES

Thomas Greenwood & the Talismans become, through the years, a psychedelic rock band heavily contaminated by 70s influences, the Western Movies scenario with a Neo-Psychedelic taste. Founder Thomas Mascheroni (also guitar/voice of stoner trio Humulus) gave birth to the first record back in 2021 called 'Rituals', entirely self-produced; Ramble Records from Melbourne and Echodelick Records from Atlanta printed the vinyls. After a long period of wild jams into an old barn on the mountains of lake Iseo, the new upcoming record "Ateş" is ready.
