Doom/Grunge/Stoner Rockers DAEVAR Release New Song/Video For AMBER EYES From Upcoming New Album

With "Amber Eyes", the Cologne-based doom grunge trio Daevar recasts Nirvana’s trademark loud-quiet dynamics into slow-burning soundscapes, complemented by blistering guitar solos. Recorded through vintage cabinets and enriched by Pardis Latifi’s sultry vocals, these six compositions offer a captivating immersion in the warm gaze of a primordial she-demon.

Following their sold-out debut album, the doom grunge trio Daevar shows no signs of slowing down with their sophomore release, "Amber Eyes". Melding melody-oriented songwriting and swaying rhythms of grunge with the mysticism and languorous heaviness of doom metal, this Cologne-based trio combines the best of both worlds to forge a mesmerizing experience in their quarter-hour of music.

Since releasing their debut EP last year, Daevar has been honing their distinctive style of slow, sinister rock music. Their debut, "Delirious Rites", was praised by Metal Hammer for its mature songwriting and was characterized by a carefully constructed lo-fi dynamic. With "Amber Eyes", Daevar shifts gears, reinterpreting Nirvana’s trademark loud-quiet dynamics with slow-burning soundscapes and incendiary guitar solos.

Characterized by swaying rhythms, punchy riffs, sultry vocals, and searing guitar solos, Amber Eyes is yet another unique foray into the slow and moody for the Cologne-based doom grunge trio. Produced again by Jan Oberg at his Hidden Planet Studio in Berlin, Amber Eyes was recorded using vintage cabinets once played by the German rock legend Udo Lindenberg’s Panikorchester. This results in a warm, vintage tone that envelops the listener throughout these six extended compositions. Rarely dipping below the six-minute mark, these songs methodically enchant and beguile, drawing you into a world that spans from Tehran to Berlin and Seattle.

Driven by Moritz's economical drumming, full of Grohl-isms, and Caspar's guitar work, reminiscent of classic death-doom acts like Paradise Lost and Katatonia, these songs possess a distinct retro vibe that harmonizes perfectly with Pardis' warm, sultry voice.

We are excited to host the UK Premiere of the stunning title track Amber Eyes from the upcoming album of the same name due out on CD/DD/Vinyl via The Lasting Dose Records from March 22nd 2024.
